He was also an anti-gamergater, too. In fact, he was playing both sides of everything. From terrorism, to israel/palestine to whatever the hell generated outrage. One persona would write an aticle or comment, the other persona would write against it. He could proliferate his personas by continually pitting one against the other, and then others would join in from either side. Tanya Cohen is another one of his alleged personas, which spacekatgal follows and who wrote many articles about the need for hate speech laws. (And a piece that feminsting took down, but the thought catalog stuff is still up.) If you google her pieces, you'll see that dailystormer is listed in the results, for it has a thread about her/Goldberg's piece. I am willing to bet the daily stormer thread was started by a Goldberg persona. (after checking with google cache, the daily stormer response to Cohen was indeed by Goldberg's white supremicist persona)

He fooled an Australian paper as well with one of his hoaxes by doing the same thing. Fooled an Israeli news site as well.

This is pure post-irony. The only thing he ever meant to attack was the notion of sincerity. He basically hated feelings. Would have continued to do it if he wasn't so anti-sincere as to give bomb instructions to the wrong person.

It was probably part of the reddit hate threads. This was one of his multi-level tricks.

He creates European88. That account contributes to racist subreddits. It is also linked to Jay persona on Daily Stormer. As Jay, he writes that stormfront and white nationalists should use reddit as a recruiting ground. Helps create this idea with the help of his own fake racist reddit accounts.

Then he creates the next part of the narrative. Goldberg's Tanya persona writes upon the way racists and racist subreddits prey on victims in the news.

Goldberg help manufacture a story, then spreads the story through fake personas representing the sides he expects to react to the subject matter. My favorite twist is that the dupe is still working. DailyKos puts up an article on the Goldberg story, citing him as a "Breitbart source" and leaves a little footnote that he "tried to troll DailyKos".

But as the reddit Kos article shows, he trolled Kos pretty damned well, and is as much a DailyKos member and contributor as he is a Breitbart source.
