What do NBA/NFL/NHL slaent think of Messi?
I'm really curious. Have you seen him play? Is he impressive? Is he shit? is his goals more impressive than anything else in sports?
By DY_nasty Go To PostHe's no Kobe
Were you afraid that soccer-heads wouldn't understand you if you said he's no McGrady?
By DY_nasty Go To PostHe's no Kobethis tells me nothing. please elaborate.
in the meantime, here is a video of current Messi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPrHkwAtrz0
The most impressive thing about Messi is that he's been in the spotlight for more than a decade and he never dropped in form. Shit, I remember being wowed by him back in 8th grade, time sure flies by...
Sure, there was a spell of few months a year ago where he was less than impressive, but in general, he's always on top of the game.

The most constantly ridiculous person in sports
A joy to watch, does something incredible at least once a game that'd make it onto anyone else's 10 minute career highlights video
Overshadows possibly the 3rd and 4th best players in the world with ease, and they're no chumps. Well, Neymar is a bit :P
I count as NBA-Slaent, can name at least 2 teams

By Gabyskra Go To PostWere you afraid that soccer-heads wouldn't understand you if you said he's no McGrady?Actually, this is true. I have to listen to the morons on 1st Take talk about how LeBron is the most popular athlete in the World every now and then.
He's not even the most famous basketball player, let alone athlete. People around the globe will probably know who Magic is over LeBron.
Michael and Kobe are on another level.
As someone who watches both nba and soccer and I think they're very comparable, however messi is someone who has produced the most magical moments consistently in any sport for me.
By rossonero Go To PostWhich one are we talking about? The German or Egyptian Messi? At this point, there are at minimum a half-dozen Messis of every conceivable nationality and ethnicity emerging every transfer window.
By ph33nix Go To PostAll I know is that if someone selects FC Barcelona in FIFA that I am in for a long 12 minutesVirtual Messi kinda sucked before FIFA 15. Now he's hard to play, yeah...

By rossonero Go To PostYes indeed, I have my money on the Kazakhstan Messi to be the real deal.Clearly you don't pay enough attention to confuziz's posts, or else you'd be all in on one of the Chinese Messis.

By Dipro Go To Posthe's the GOAT in my book.Too short to be in contention
Probably the best athlete alive.

On a more serious note, I like how that video doesn't show if that guy is good at what the real Messi is IMO best at: that ball control.

i'm NBA/NHL/NFL slaent, i'm a Grizz/Blues/Rams fan
Messi is gr8 and all but he's always surrounded by the best talent. He had the greatest player of his generation (Xavi) and his Argentina teams are stacked. I like him better at RW.

By Esch Go To PostHe had the greatest player of his generation (Xavi)
That's the first time I read that. What's his generation? He peaked late, when Ronaldo and Messi were already better. When Xavi was around 25, he was an afterthought behind Ronaldinho, Henry, etc.
