Passing and touch were as normal. Seemed a bit rusty when on the ball, taking longer than normal to decide what to do with it and letting his touches get away from him when running with it. Also had a great chance that he didn't cause enough trouble with as he side-footed it from the edge of the box, when I think when he's at 100% he backs himself to take it closer to goal and force the retreating defender to challenge him from behind in the box, or let him have a proper one-on-one.
Got a good hour, didn't get injured, looked worth his spot in the first 11 while he regains match fitness. About as good as you could reasonably hope. in terms of sharpness. Hopefully comes off the bench on Wednesday to start against Villa. Would like to see Benteke and Ings start against Carlisle, they need all the time on the pitch that they can get no matter who the opposition imo.
Think Benteke may have tweaked that thigh injury though, Ings looked good so might not be a huge issue even if Sturridge had a setback as well. Having said that though, Norwich were absolute shit. Such a frustrating result at the best of times, let alone when we couldn't take advantage of a poor performance.
