United's next 4 games before International break:
LC - Ipswich Town (H)
PL - Sunderland (H)
UCL - Wolfsburg (H)
PL - Arsenal (A)
1. We should do that lot.
2. Fuck international breaks.

By n8 Go To PostI'm amazed it's the Mail publishing it, more than anything.
That's more amazing than Cameron putting his dick inside a pig?
I hope somebody on PMQs at least makes a subtle reference.

Think I'm right in saying that 6 of the last 7 goals we've conceded have come from crosses. Not good.

I also doubt they will play, sadly. At least not starting, but I expect Coman and Götze to come in later.
Of course it was harder for Götze to impress initially. He came with huge expectations and failed to live up to them. Costa and Coman came, basically, without expectations and made immediate contributions.
I still think Götze's main problem is Müller. Normally Müller's current position would be ideal for Götze and he would fit Pep's football better. BUT Müller just keeps on scoring and contributes so much more that he has even won over Pep.
Still, I have hope for Götze yet. He is only 23 and will move further back, the longer his career lasts. Once he's 26 and in Schweini's position he might be great.
Fans of other teams said Hodgson isn't the problem, too. People like to think there's just something endemically shit about Liverpool, but it's not that. The players aren't playing well and they're players the manager bought, presumably because he knows how to get the best out of them. We gave him a new back room staff and let him spend all the Sterling money and then some on his targets. No one is coming good, the formation isn't working and the players are clearly not drilled well on passing because there's so little movement it's like they're frozen in place.
By Auto Go To PostRodgers is not the problem
By Oddinho Go To PostHave we fired Rodgers yet?
2 issues I would've thought:
1. He's just been backed in the transfer market to a great degree so it's unlikely to happen soon.
2. If FSG did want to sack him now, they may be struggling to find a replacement they like or they'd have made a move to sack Rodgers by now to get it done.

Realistically I think the same. Doesn't stop me from wanting it to happen though

Oddinho I'm offended. I love and respect Liverpool.
I think it's going to take a while for things to come together. Lots of new players and stuff. It comes with the territory.

Honestly, if Klopp is indeed available to take over, then I can see FSG sacking Rodgers if he has a few more bad results and going for Klopp. He's too big to not go for.

I'd argue he's too big to get.
Would Klopp or Ancelotti see Liverpool as part of an upward trajectory for their respective careers? I'd be inclined to think not.
I feel sorry for Liverpool fans.
The season is starting to feel like a write off already. There seems to be this cloud over everything that won't clear til Rodgers goes.
The summer really was a pivotal one. There was a good argument for both keeping and sacking Rodgers. Just seems like they went the wrong way.
It's still early and Sturridge could have enough impact to push Liverpool close enough to an "interesting" season. But you can't see anything more than that really can you.
They really need to focus on getting Klopp or Ancelotti in there (if they can). Rodgers has been learning on the job.

I seem to have spent my life watching blokes put in crosses while under no pressure whatsoever on (primarily) our left side. Used to howl at Patrice. The "oh, a cross is coming: better batten down the hatches" thing seems like folly.

Relatively speaking, is that really that bad?
I mean it would be fuck loads worse if they were coming through the middle.
Pretty much every team on the planet is susceptible to crossing.

Rio getting hyper-merked against Spurs was a bad one.

Evra vs Aaron Lennon is one of the unsolved mysteries of the last few years.

We've conceded 6 goals from crosses in the past 4 games. That suggests it's a problem.

Not entirely sure why Darmian was subbed but he looked gassed in the PSV game as it is so I'm not shocked. Hope he gets rested v Ipswich.

Sorry, shouldn't have lumped you in there.
I mean Chelsea are shit right now and they're managed by Mourinho and have players like Eden Hazard. Man City lost to West Ham, like we did, and they had a perfect start to the season until then. Perhaps I'm just being impatient, but my patience is running thin. I've defended Rodgers staunchly for a long time, I genuinely think he's a good manager, but I think it's time to stop backing him to succeed.
There is no reason Klopp wouldn't come to Liverpool. His stock isn't the highest it's been given that Dortmund had a poor season by his and their standards, and we have the money and the setup for a manager like him.
By S@l Go To PostRio getting hyper-merked against Spurs was a bad one.OH gawd, I wanna watch that game again. Rolling through the middle of Fergie's man united like they weren't even fucking there.

That was a good sub, I thought.
Van Gaal's usually been alright with his subs this season, but McNair yesterday was just unnecessary tinkering
