I only really care about who makes the playoffs. So much of this depends on injured dudes coming back at the right level / new additions meshing on their teams, I really don't know how it'll go, but it'll be interesting to look back on.

I've done so little paying attention this past month, I'm not sure where to go but here is my try.
West
1. OKC thunder (assuming Durant is healthy, they push for it big time)
2. Golden State Warriors (steph curry misses time and costs them the 1 seed or something)
3. Houston Rockets
4. SA Spurs
5. LA Clippers
Making a cutoff here. FTW, all these records will be close and really could move around easily (except GSW will be top 3 for sure) assuming there aren't major injuries. These are the 5 west contenders. Just because I have Clippers 5 and Rockets 3 doesn't mean I'm haring on LAC. This could literally be a tiebreaker or 1 game difference, okay. The Spurs could be #1 or #2, too. I don't fucking know how the records will play out, I just am sure these are the top 5 and they'll be close together (again, barring injuries)
6. Memphis Grizzlies - only team with a chance to crack the top 5 but this unit is already on its last legs
7. New Orleans Pelicans - their early injuries scare me here but I'm not betting against AD
8. Utah Jazz - probably? I don't know
9. Portland Trailblazers - they got worse, but not convinced they're that much worse
10. Phoenix Suns
11. Dallas Mavericks
12. LA Lakers - admittedly a homer pick. They could just as well finish last and I think this is their ceiling.
13. Sacramento Kings - this is one of the hardest teams for me to gauge. They could make a run for #8 or #14...
14. Minnesota TWolves - I actually think they could overachieve and finish 11.
15. Denver Nuggets - I just don't like this team
East
1. Cleveland - I'm not sure they win a ton of games, but who else wins more?
2. Miami Heat - As constructed, I put them 3rd but I feel some trade is coming to push them up
3. Atlanta Hawks - lost Carroll, were too healthy...this some things sour.
4. Chicago Bulls - I don't know about this team. I'm so meh on em.
5. Washington Wizards
6. Boston Celtics - 2nd hardest for me. On one hand, expect them to play hard and are deep. On the other, not sure they're that good.
7. Toronto Raptors- Feeling a fall is coming. Didn't care for their offseason.
8. Milwaukee Bucks
9 . Charlotte Hornets - Actually kind of like this team, think they can go as high as 7 if things fall into place.
10. Detroit Pistons
11. Indiana Pacers
12. New York Knicks - better than last year!
13. Orlando Magic
14. Brooklyn Nets aka the most boring team in the NBA.
15. Philadephia 76ers
8-10 is really up in the air for me. Maybe even 11. they're inconsequential, though.

MVP: It Should be AD but I don't think he's getting it due to team record. I'll go Durant just cuz. I don't think Curry gets it again. If Houston finishes above everyone but Spurs, Harden gets it. If LAC do, then CP3. But I feel like it's KD.
Coach of the Year: Brad Stevens. Or Billy Donovan
Defensive Player of Year: Anthony Davis since he won't be given MVP
Most Improved Player: CJ McCollum
Rookie of the Year: Russell, cuz I'm a homer!
Executive of the Year: Pop/Buford simply for LMA
Sixth Man: Isiah Thomas if he's not starting
Bitchmade of the Year: Blake. It's always Blake.
Flopper of the Year: Tiago Splitter
Most Likely to Leave to China: Derrick Williams
Breakout Star: uhhhh...don't know?
Western Playoffs OKC over Warriors
Eastern Playoffs Cavs over Heat...unless that trade happens then heat over cavs!
OKC wins title. I'm picking them just cuz it's their last chance, most likely. IF the big 3 are healthy. I really don't know who is coming out of the West. I'm still not a big LAC or Houston playoff fan. I don't feel like GSW will repeat. I'm unconvinced the LMA signing and season works out as well as Spurs hope it will. Leaves me with OKC. Out East it's Cavs unless someone makes a move. I think Heat will be really good and the only one with a chance. Bulls are done. As are the Hawks.
I think OKC or Cleveland could win it all, as things currently stands. If they meet, it's almost 50/50. I probably should pick Cleveland and it might be their best shot ever.

I think the East is better this year and that the amount of wins needed to get to the playoffs in the East is higher than .500
Why so high on the heat mamba? Want to hear your reasoning.
I do think some trade involving Deng is gonna happen though.

By Zeus Ex Machina Go To PostI think the East is better this year and that the amount of wins needed to get to the playoffs in the East is higher than .500a team that was 500 was the 6th seed last year... so two teams under 500 made it in last year.
Dragic
Wade
Deng
Bosh
Whiteside
That's a damn good starting 5. You got McBobs, Chalmers, and Winslow off the bench, too. That's a really good top 8. They lost Bosh last year, who is their best player, and didn't get Dragic til it all fell apart. I like how the pieces fit. I know Wade can't play 82 but I think it's a team that can win in the playoffs.

I was right though 9th seed was 42 wins. I just felt the need to bump this.
