By blackace Go To PostBut the 4th seed most times was the exact same thing that you just called bogus.. so yeah..i was fine with him winning at a true 2. thats why i pointed it out. they stayed at 2 for a while then, staying the same is fine. i would be fine with OKC coach winning at 2, not 4 when you have been 1 and 2 just a few seasons ago with arguably a worse KD and YNB.
A full season of KD will bump OKC's win total but a full season of Kanter will keep it in check. I don't think they manage 60 wins.
By reilo Go To Post60 WIN BASELINE LOLOLOLOLAssuming health and based on the recent performance of the team.
This isn't DY predicting the Hornets getting close to 50 wins.
By KingGondo Go To PostAssuming health and based on the recent performance of the team. They won 45 last year without Durant basically. I agree with you, assuming health, near the top of the West, about 60 wins.

Look at Gondo think okc is anything more than just Ibaka Russ and KD still.
60 win baseline.
By rodeoclown Go To PostThey won 45 last year without Durant basically. I agree with you, assuming health, near the top of the West, about 60 wins.
60 win baseline.
Since 2009-10, there have been 8 teams (10 if we extrapolate the lockout year) that cracked 60-wins. The Heat with Lebron, Wade, and Bosh only did it once. The Thunder with perfect health until last season only did it once. So yea, 60-win baseline sounds dumb af.
I read recently that only about 20% of historical teams that won at least 60 games actually had 60 win talent by SRS. And 60 win talent isn't even a baseline, it's an average. Though sure, maybe the bottom 50% is due to lack of health, but you can't just discount health concerns, especially not when the biggest difference between your team this year and last year is a guy who largely sat out the season due to injury.
By Moris Go To Post60 win baseline.Oh, I guess I misread that then. But about 55-58 wins sounds about right to me for them. That I don't think is crazy.
55-58 wins does not sound crazy and it's inline with what they've done the last few years given spectacular health prior to last season. You have to remember that they only cracked 60-wins once in 2012-13 and that was with spectacular health (they had 8 players play more than 77 games that season, and all 5 starters played 78+ including Perkins AND Kevin Martin).
60-win baseline though this season? FOH.
60-win baseline though this season? FOH.
yeah a new system, an general rust from KD , plus dat FA weight on his shoulders will mean some extra losses than expected
60 wins if we're healthy and if Donovan doesn't make the same dumb mistakes Brooks made. Totally reasonable prediction.
Gondo, we've established years ago that you don't know what "reasonable" means. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that solely by you predicting it, it makes it undoubtedly an unreasonable prediction.
I also think it's totally unreasonable to assume that Donovan is at least Scott Brooks good. He's a college coach with no NBA experience. His game schedule just doubled and he has to deal with an MVP that is in a contract year coming off of a serious injury, not to mention the Russell Westbrook factor. That alone is completely unreasonable.
By Moris Go To Post"50+ wins for OKC" is a reasonable prediction. "At least 60 wins" is not reasonable. We won 45 last season basically without KD. "50 or more" is so conservative it's laughable.
Do a thunder fans think this way? 60 wins baseline. Should finish no less that second in the west? Talking like anything else is redicilous. Man I pray for Billy D. Dude is walking into a shitstorm. Crazy expectations with the posibilty of becoming lottery fodder in a year.
Reilo cherrypicked a quote and now it's exactly what I said.
I said 60 wins feels like the baseline with the following qualifications: 1) the health of our stars and 2) Donovan being a coaching upgrade.
I said 60 wins feels like the baseline with the following qualifications: 1) the health of our stars and 2) Donovan being a coaching upgrade.
I didn't cherry-pick anything. In fact, I said 60-win baseline is a damn unreasonable prediction even if you were healthy and Donovan was an upgrade. I made quite sufficient counter-arguments to your qualifications.
Most everyone is saying the same.

By PSY! Go To Post60 wins baseline sounds like you expect them win 70.Gun to my head, I probably put them right at 60. Maybe 61 or 62.
60 baseline sounds insane for basically any team. Injuries alone can cost you games. GSW was healthy as can be relative to other teams, still only won 67.

I'll take a bet with Gondo whether or not the Thunder make 60 wins.
I say no and that either the Spurs or Warriors crack 60+ wins.
If neither make that threshold the bet is off. Loser has to go buy a jersey and make a video of burning jersey of the winner's choice.
eg: Gondo loses, he buys and burns a Kevin Durant Jersey. I lose I burn my Chinese New Years Warriors Jersey.
Come on Gondo prove to us how much you think the Thunder will win 60+ games.

How do you make so many predictions without just guessing at 80% of that shit.
If we really want to hold people accountable and keep track of L's, it should be about specific, bold, predictions.
Thunder winning 60, Hornets winning 49, Knicks making playoffs, Lakers getting a top 3 pick, stuff like that. Talking shit about dudes for not guessing the seedings of 30 teams or the correct coach of the year doesn't seem fun?
Maybe that's just me

Can't speak on other teams right now, but I think if Lawson gets his shit together Rockets are a solid 3 seed at worst.
Our PG situation last year with Prigs and Terry was tough, but still managed to have a good season. Lawson gets the ball out of Harden's hands and hopefully doesn't require him to exert so much energy during the season.
Again assuming he gets his shit straight.

IWMTB pls they have no bigs
and i thought you hated marcus smart
lol what? The Celtics have:
Amir Johnson
Tyler Zeller
Olynyk
Sullinger
And Avi Lee too.
Smart is trash offensively, but he's a great defensive player, so he's OK overall.
They have a great player in Isaiah Thomas and no bad players other than Evan Turner.
