By PSY! Go To PostHaven't seen dy with this much faith in his team everMaybe I know something yal don't
By DY_nasty Go To Postword moris, magic and the celtics gonna be above the hornets?
mmhmm
Celtics were 7 games ahead of Charlotte last season and Orlando is actually developing young talent.
All I said was Dy cannot troll the whole NBA offseason. Dy calls this unrealistic and would rather spend $60 buying another person a video game...
Also I said Knicks have a outside shot at .500, that's 41 wins not 49.
Also I said Knicks have a outside shot at .500, that's 41 wins not 49.
By outside shot you mean like there being an apocalypse and the entire western conference disappearing?
By The Frankman Go To PostAll I said was Dy cannot troll the whole NBA offseason. Dy calls this unrealistic and would rather spend $60 buying another person a video game…That 2k bet was an example. Either myself of Phaze will be writing fanboy entries for the other team by the end of the year though.

Knicks going .500 though? Amazon deal of the day shit right there

14 place for the knicks? really Moris? shit man Charles Barkley didn't even say they would be that bad and he personally has beef with that team.
Knicks are a 35+ win team at the minimum and 41 wins isn't crazy at all.

By Zeus Ex Machina Go To Post14 place for the knicks? really Moris? shit man Charles Barkley didn't even say they would be that bad and he personally has beef with that team. The Knicks being shit for such a long time has masked Carmelo's fall off. He can't score anywhere near the efficient level the Knicks need for them to be anything close to a .500 team anymore. That defense is patchwork. Too many new pieces too. Its not happening this year. Next? Sure. But that'll bring an entirely new host of issues for the team to deal with.

I think 11-14 in the East is gonna be really close and could be shuffled in any order. Those teams just don't got a shot at the playoffs.

If we we're talking playoffs I would agree with you about next year but 35 wins are very doable. The Knicks got a soft schedule with few back to backs. Their starting 5 won't suck. A bench that looks to be made to run to take advantage of teams on back to backs, and enough overall defensive depth at guard & center to keep PG's from just walking to the hoop. All that combined should get them to .500 in the East. The current knick make up shouldn't have to ride Melo because more people can score than just Melo and live/die Jr.
Also outside of the Raptors I expect them to get a shit ton of easy wins in their division as well. Hell I think people are overestimating the Raptors. They got a glut at wing, Lowry was looking bad at the end of the season, Carroll is going to be asked to perform at a high level on a iso basketball team whereas he thrived in a pass heavy team and outside of Valanciunas they got shit big men.
By reilo Go To Post24-win improvement brehs. Happens so easily.
I know its not easy, but shit look at last year, the best player got injured game 2 of the season, they traded away anyone of marginal talent before the all star game and had D league players and guys who should be 3rd stringers get significant minutes due to tank reasons.
The only talent worth of a damn on that team is likely going to be the second string pg/sg this season and the other guy went to Russia. Significant improvement is a legit possibility.

i guess if you overperform no? OKC in #4 is entirely expected.
By Dipro Go To Posti guess if you overperform no? OKC in #4 is entirely expected.not exactly.. Billy is a rookie coach in the NBA if he gets the Thunder to play a decent offense that doesn't just rely on hero ball he will have a shot.
I mean Pop Phil Riles and Thibbs have all won it placing where they should.. it is interesting that Phil has only won it once tho..

Pop, Phile, Riles all won with higher seed than 4.
Kerr got 67 last year as a rookie coach and overperformer, didn't even get it.
somebody will bring his (perceived) lousy squad to 50+ and win it.
2 years ago we won 59 games with YNB missing a huge part of the season and Caron Butler as our bench scoring threat down the stretch.
3 years ago we won 60 with a historically great SRS. Kendrick Perkins played over 25 minutes per game.
If Donovan is even a modest improvement over Brooks (hard not to do) and we stay healthy, 60 wins feels like the baseline. This is the deepest, most experienced, and versatile roster we've ever had.

It's possible for the Thunder to win 55 games and be the 4th seed out west...
It's not like I am saying he will win CotY just saying throughout NBA history it has been given to 4th seeds and even guys who didn't make the playoffs...
By blackace Go To PostIt's not like I am saying he will win CotY just saying throughout NBA history it has been given to 4th seeds and even guys who didn't make the playoffs…Dipro has a good point that it typically goes to coaches of teams who outperform expectations. OKC in the 4 seed would be seen as mildly disappointing by most. That is unless he gets us to the 4 seed while we continue to suffer terrible injury luck.
Most places so far got them 3rd or 4th..
Avery Johnson is a perfect example of a rookie coach taking over a great team and winning 2 more games than they did last year and winning CotY at 4th seed....

Seed 2 and 3 won less games than them. Seed 3 won 44 games, Dallas won 60 as 4.
it's a 2 seed in the current NBA, that shit is over.
OKC already has a history of getting way higher seeds. Dallas didn't.
I'll be back for further predictions but I feel like this is the last ride for the big three together (Tim, Tony, Manu). Leonard will only further improve, I think will be our year. Maybe even time for Greg to bow out, 6 rings would be a healthy achievement.
