Bulls vs Heat (3peat talk)
Well as the finals is near the MJ vs LBJ talk is once again making them headlines.. and well Ho. Grant had some words about it..
I would have loved to see Pippen on LBJ and MJ going off...
With four more wins, the Miami Heat will match one of Michael Jordan's greatest feats – three straight NBA championships – but former Bull Horace Grant says that doesn't mean LeBron James' team could have beaten those Chicago teams.
Nathaniel S. Butler/NBAE/Getty ImagesHorace Grant says the Heat "wouldn't have had a chance" against the Michael Jordan-led Bulls.
"The Heat wouldn't have had a chance," Grant said Tuesday on WSCR-AM in Chicago. "We would have locked them up. We would have locked them up. Especially with the rules today, Michael would have had a field day."
The Heat are in their fourth straight NBA Finals and will face the San Antonio Spurs for the second year in a row. Game 1 is Thursday night in San Antonio (9 ET, ABC).
Jordan led the Bulls to three straight NBA championships from 1991 to '93 and then did it again upon coming back from retirement with three titles from 1996 to '98. The Los Angeles Lakers were the last team to win three championships in a row (2000-02).
If anything, Jordan can point to the fact his three-peat run was utterly dominant. Jordan and the Bulls swept teams five different times and played only one Game 7. Jordan's playoff win percentage from 1991-93 was .776 (45-13), compared to James' current .721 from 2012 to this postseason (44-17).
Grant was part of the Bulls core that won the first three championships before he left as a free agent for the Orlando Magic.
Who will Grant be pulling for in these NBA Finals?
"My fingers and toes are crossed that San Antonio wins just for the fact of being a fan of [coach Gregg] Popovich and the way that organization carries itself and the guys on the floor: Tim Duncan, [Manu] Ginobili, [Tony] Parker, [Kawhi] Leonard," Grant said. "I'm a big

If it were 80s/90s officiating,I'd love to see LBJ with even more leeway to bulldoze dudes and bumrush the rim.
I don't really know how to judge these type of what ifs but I don't see either team being clearly better.

LBJ gets a lot of leeway now
But a Cartwright 'bow would be just a normal foul instead of a game suspension
LBJ getting laid out in every first quarter would a put an end to his bullrushing right quick.maybe, LeBron isn't Vince tho.
I can see the Heat giving a fight to the first 3-peat Bulls teams that Grant played for, but the Rodman\Kukuc squad of the 2nd run would've murdered them.

He was shook by Marion and Chandler's D some bows would have him legit crying.
Bosh getting punked..ah gawd. Rodman would have him so fucked up.
Wade getting pushed and sent to the hardwood...he'd be on a stretcher minutes after the tip.
Not many players are built for 90s ball but its hard to think of guys less equipped for it than Bosh/Wade who are also as important to a team's success.
Had LeBron came up in the late 80s early 90s he would most likely be acclimated to that style of play, his skill-set and playstyle can translate to a much more physical game.LBJ getting laid out in every first quarter would a put an end to his bullrushing right quick.maybe, LeBron isn't Vince tho.

Wade and Bosh on the other hand...
Wade's been falling on his ass his entire career, he'd deal with it fine.
Bosh would probably take even more jumpers(is that even possible?) if he doesn't like banging now.

Modern Wade has actively avoided his old wreckless style and for good reason.
my bad, i keep thinking of a heat team with prime wade.Wade's been falling on his ass his entire career, he'd deal with it fine.

I think his old man, post up floater game would be effective vs Chicago, but he'd have MJ on him so he wouldn't be as efficient since MJ has height on him(and a fucking awesome defender).but if we're talking 1991-1993 bulls vs 2012-2014 Heat. I think it'd be hard for the Bulls to beat that small ball offense, especially adjusting to defending the 3. I also think it'd be hard for Miami to get past a perimeter defense as good or better than their own, I think that the Bulls played more consistent D but when Miami swarms and scrambles the perimeter defense between the two teams would be like fights in DBZ where it'd be just lines bouncing through the sky.

I think the 2012-2014 Heat would lose to the 91 Lakers and 93 Suns tho...

He would also have a much tougher time on the perimeter with fucking Pippen guarding him though. And if Pippen ever gets tired, it's Jordan turn.
Eventually the series would fall all on Wade's shoulder, and I don't know if I can trust Wade to carry the torch. If it was in today's game though Jordan would just be shooting free throws all series.... zZzzZz
His old reckless style would've got him killed in the early 90s, and with HGH technology still in its infancy, he would've stayed dead.Wade's been falling on his ass his entire career, he'd deal with it fine.

I only saw them play in the finals, but their defense, especially on jordan was pretty terrible.
my bad, i keep thinking of a heat team with prime wade.i can't recall any small ball team every dominating in the playoffs during the handcheck era.

don't recall any small ball team having lebron, wade and so many three point threats eithermy bad, i keep thinking of a heat team with prime wade.i can't recall any small ball team every dominating in the playoffs during the handcheck era.

yeah i don't like what ifs so im not gonna keep this up
don't recall any small ball team having lebron, wade and so many three point threats eitherIt's impossible to find a perfect analogy, but just look at how the very very talented run TMC era warriors fared.

The Heat's small ball would get punished by the super bigmen of the past but the Bulls didn't have any. The Heat's small ball only really works because of the perimeter defense. I agree, you can't find a perfect analogy but the mullin, hardaway, richmond warrior's team were too awful defensively to really compare.don't recall any small ball team having lebron, wade and so many three point threats eitherIt's impossible to find a perfect analogy, but just look at how the very very talented run TMC era warriors fared.

The Bulls weren't a perimeter team tho
They played big from the wings
No team has been built like the MJ Pip Bulls
