I don't know what to feel about this game. I would have loved to take game one but clearly with our history it doesn't matter. Is it better to have lost in some strange scenario that will never happen again, I don't know.
When lebron left the entire team was deflate. Now yes it is disturbing to see our guys become discombobulated at the end. Chalmers being stupid didn't help. nearly 14 points of that insane spurs run came after 1:30 left, clearly garbage time.
Yes it is scary that the spurs can get that hot. It is scary that they could have 22 turnovers and still hang around before lebron went out. This is clearly going to be a war. But the heat had total control of this game then lebron started to fall apart and so did the lead. So it's not like we can't control a game.
Whatever, if we lose game 2 I will be worried.

Tim Duncan had a 20-10 game on 90% shooting. I'm not sure where the Heat had total control of the game since both teams came back from being down 7-9 points through out the game. Heat can still win the series, but this was probably the first of the two home games they could have stole.

Score in 10:09 with LeBron off the floor in the 2nd half: Spurs 33, Heat 12.
fucking pitiful, garbage. Heat just opened the legs and got wesley piped

Uh, the Spurs cut Miamis lead down to a basket or two before Lebron went out. Total control?
We don't know which team would have won had this not happened and that's the worst part about it.
I almost feel cheated out of a great game.
Uh, the Spurs cut Miamis lead down to a basket or two before Lebron went out. Total control?Lebron was feeling the effects of the cramps before he had to be taken out. If you saw on defense, he shrugged it off and then the next couple possessions he took bad jump shots instead of driving to the basket, which helped the Spurs cut it to 2.
With all of that being said, it was a four point game with only 2 minutes left after Lebron came out for the second time, there was no reason for us to just give up and literally wilt at that point.
Disappointed that Wade and Bosh didn't take over there and instead let Mario Chalmers squander any type of chance we had.
I generally joke about bankais and shit but seriously guys. Don't begin to pop bottles and troll the Heat until they are down 2-0…and even then.even 0-3 you cant troll.heat are tough to beat.
Like every time they drop game 1 (or any game really), dudes starting stylin like it's over.
and then welp happens.
You are not even remotely on the level of LeBron. Your body doesn't know what it feels like. Your weakling cramps aren't going to be the same. Are we going to pretend LeBron isn't one of the toughest guys in the league? Any cramp that puts him out of a game probably puts you in an ICU. PEACE.
Holy.Shit.
Really unfortunate game, the Heatstroke game took out LeBron and caused the Spurs to have one of the worst offensive quarters they've had in probably a decade. Hopefully the AC doesn't give out again.

You better not have jinxed this shit Parker
Ehhh. Probably just adrenaline. How does a sprained ankle get better in a few hours?

And this is what I meant by my earlier comment. Regardless of what caused leg cramps worse than we've ever seen LeBron have; this game is a win for the Spurs but we can take nothing away from that and the Heat probably feel like they lost under fluke conditions.
SA shooting 60% from the field is a worry if Im a Heat fan. They got the looks they wanted to get, even with Miami turning them over quite a bit.
Man, I am so glad I have this place. GAF NBA is a shit show right now.
Why you even bother Wesker?
Jordan coulda came back from a beheading!

Also, here's Lebron's statements post game:

Complete control is probably a bad term, I just know every Heat fan felt great at the start of that 4th quarter. We were playing Heat basketball and it seemed to me we controlled the pace of the game at that time. It all fell apart after that. Now a few things did happen, Duncan came back in so he for sure had something to do with it. But Lebron went out, there is just no way around it, it happened, it absolutely had some effect on the game and so it kind of makes what we watched at the end of that game questionable in both ways.
And just when you least expect it... Olden Polynice!
If a 32 years old Boris Diaw (which is 64 in fatass years) can handle the heat, so should LeBron.
You think Jordan would've taken himself out of a finals game because of cramps?Man, I am so glad I have this place. GAF NBA is a shit show right now.

Bosh hit that 4 point play in the fourth and I was feeling like I was on the top of the world. Then it crumbled so quickly after the whole Lebron thing.I don't know what to feel about this game. Spurs played like hot garbage in the 3rd quarter. Let's not forget that and their 22 turnovers in this "great" game.
If I was Pop, I'd turn up the heat.

Same here, it just felt RIGHT. You watch the games as I do, you know what I mean, there are moments where it feels like we got this and all worries just fly away. I felt that at that exact moment. Everyone in my watch party was in a good mood, the tension was gone, it was a festive atmosphere. Then it turned into a horror movie.

even with lebron out we should have played better. fucked up too many assignments on D and then mario chalmers tried too hard to make up for his shit earlier and we didn't get a single shot we wanted
I felt like we gambled a ton tonight and we aren't gonna be able to do that much more when teams go to film. best thing the heat can hope for is that lebron doesn't cramp again and at least 2-3 role players show up while playing better pick and roll D

No reason to troll Lebron. No reason to make excuses either. Heat had Wade and Bosh in a 2 point game and just stopped playing. Not to mention not blowing the game wide open when SA was turning it over every damn possession in the third.
Reilo, I wasn't on Gaf - I was watching the game at a bar with some friends. So EAD.
Ya know, only if you're into that kind of thing. <3
He's been the most durable player in the game for years. Clowning him for those cramps or being unable to play is just nonsense.

Like, you can close you eyes and imagine Marv Albert goes "and what is this? Michael Jordan is singling Phil Jackson that he can't go on. Ladies and gentlemen, Jordan is asking to be taken out of the game. and now we go to commercials. come here girl, let uncle Marv bite you. YESSS! nom nom nom YESSS! shit, we're still on?"
No reason to troll Lebron. There are many many reasons to troll LeBron.
People making fun of Lebron because of a cramp are fucking dumb.
People saying a 90 degree temp definitely caused the cramp are fucking dumb.
So many dumb people tonight.
I agree with point A but not point B. dehydration and lack of oxygen help lead to cramps. Cue in Lebron mic'd up going "I can't breathe dawg"
This is like that dumb shit people would say about Kobe's Achilles. Him playing 46-48 minutes a game for two solid weeks leading up to the warriors game and then him tweaking his knee 2 times in the game definitely led to the injury.
You can't tell me that taking Kobe out that game after the second time he fell and giving him a few days off wouldn't have changed anything. Like he would tears his Achilles the next game. that's bullshit. The conditions def had an effect.
Same thing here. Lebron couldn't breathe and was probably dehydrated, his body was cramping up and he didn't shut it down and came back in so his legs completely shut down after that layup.
I never really had an issue with them but a buddy of mine did. He was a strong dude, played a lot of basketball, stout but surprisingly athletic for his build. He was like a filipino Charles Barkley. But man, leg cramps would just wipe him out from time to time. He'd get one and it would put him down. It was kind of jarring really, to see a dude who was muscling his way around the court and leaping everywhere just suddenly be incapacitated.
He also used to swear that pickle juice really helped get over a leg cramp. I guess that's a thing or something, but when he told me that it was the first time I'd heard of it.

Helps you retain water.

Also this -

no, the Spurs were up two with possession when LeBron went out.
I'm not even saying shit about the Heat tonight. That comes later. Lebron will be healthy for the other 3 games they lose.

He's right though.
7:31 Rashard Lewis enters the game for LeBron James 86-84
4:33 LeBron James enters the game for Chris Andersen 90-94
3:59 Rashard Lewis enters the game for LeBron James 92-94
They were up two when Lebron went out the first time. Then he came back and made a basket and went out again.
But yeah, at no point did the Heat had total control of the game, except maybe a glimpse of that when Bosh made that 4 point play, but the Spurs quickly closed the gap.

Reading comprehension my man. Who the hell said people gave Kobe shit? This wasn't referencing your dumb argument about Lebron being a bitch. I didn't quote you. I quoted a guy arguing that the conditions of the game didn't influence the injury. Much like the shit people said about Kobe's Achilles to pretend like it was unavoidable.
You really gonna say I have no place brining up Kobe when u compared Lebron to Jordan out of fucking nowhere multiple times on the same page?
Good jab good afert on the troll attempt

fair enough, i didn't know he went out earlier, just woke up at the 4 min mark.
Im sure Spurs fans are at least glad the no A/C, Lebron James cramps situation didnt happen in a series clinching game. wouldve cast a cloud over everything.

Was that the 3rd qtr? When Bosh hit that 3 and Duncan fouled him, I literally took a walk around the neighborhood for about 5-10 min. IDK. When I came back, the Spurs were down by just two.
I gave up on Danny Green, whom everyone (but his teammates and Pop) gave up on, who didn't give up on himself.
In the 4th qtr, I ask my wife, "Is that Green?" standing at at the far right corner of the court. As soon as I finished my sentence, they passed to him and he hit...and didn't miss after that. Even got himself a fast break dunk.
That's why they're professionals and we're just fans. Hats off.
I'm staying off the internet so I can avoid reading imbecile posts like "Jordan would have played through it"
I know Lebron is obviously a better player than Parker, but when TP went down against OKC the Spurs still put together an amazing performance to clinch the series. Using Lebron's cramp as an excuse for the team unraveling like they did seems pretty pathetic considering all the talent Miami has.
Anyway, this series is going to be an amazing battle, just like last year. Anything can definitely happen.
