Ibe and Lallana haven't exactly inspired much confidence that Markovic couldn't have proved more useful than one/both of them.
Strange one

The diet is working out great. Lost 8kgs since June.
But man. The desire to just eat a whole box of chocolate is rising.
I was hoping that would go away.

Bundes-bros. Homegrown ones, not filthy traitors to their latin blood like Elchele. What's Schalke status in the league? By that I don't mean what their results have been over the course of history, but more like where do their fans see themselves in the grand scheme of things, both domestically and abroad. It's been suggested to me that they're a bit like Roma. In that they for some crazy reason don't consider themselves inferior, at least not by a wide margin, to the 'big' clubs. For example, what do they think of Wolfsburg?
Wonder if these Felipe Anderson links have any substance or whether they're just repeats of the ESPN article last Friday.

Would you say he's very inconsistent? Or just not that good?

First of all Wolfsburg fans aren't that important. They come to the stadium when their team wins, they dont come when they lose. Wolfsburg gets funded by VW and thats the only reason why they are good from time to time. They even won the Bundesliga in 2008. Everyone thought a BAyern rival was born. But that wasn't the case.
Schalke fans are pretty crazy. It's a small town but they still manage to fill up their 65k stadium every week. They usually get drunk and support their team like crazy. The thing is, the expectations are always sky high. Despite having not won a league title since the 50s. Schalke is not know for their best football but they are known for having a lot of faithful fans.
By Laboured Go To PostWould you say he's very inconsistent? Or just not that good?
Mostly inconsistent, but I also think he doesn't yet have what it takes to play in a big club in terms of personality (which could be interpreted as being the same thing, I suppose). Not saying the personality isn't there at all, he just doesn't strike me as being nearly ready for the next level. He's clearly Lazio's best player and they suffer a tremendous lot when he's more or less shit, like he was in the Supercup and both CL matches. I think he needs at least one more season to consecrate himself as Lazio's de facto star (or prove that he's more of a one season wonder), before thinking about making the jump to a mega club like United.
Take it as more of a general feeling about the player than a lucid technical analysis though. I could be totally wrong and he'd tear it up at United from the get-go. But judging from what I've seen of him so far, I really don't think so. Needs to develop some more.
Bla, given the rumors about Draxler's refusal of Wolfsburg's offer, I'm just trying to figure out how a homegrown Schalke player might see them. What you wrote pretty much confirms what I've been told, so thanks for that.
Yep. If you're a good player at Schalke you either go to Bayern or abroad.
Wolfsburg is not really a step up. Neither in terms of city or club history. Yes, they are in the CL. But so is Juve.

Just finished watching that HDHC Webrip of Straight Otta Compton. Not a bad film I must say.
Has to be more to the Markovic loan story than what's on the surface. He was practicing at Melwood yesterday with the first team. I don't even feel like we really saw enough of him to assess his capabilities within the side.
Have they really given up on him so soon?
Because that's our thing!

I'm not too down on our team. Defense good, looks like De Gea will stay, good centre mid, if Herrera plays 10 we look good going forward. Just could do with one more star player in attack. Wouldn't mind Anderson, dream would be someone like Griezemann.
Looking at our fixtures there are 2 weeks of real concern for me. Zagreb, Chelsea, Spurs, Leicester all away one after another is just bullshit and Swansea away, Bayern away and Spurs at home all in the same week? Really? Fuck those 2 weeks are going to be a potential problem. The schedule doesn't seem too bad aside from that but if we beat Spurs we will get more games but most first team players won't be playing those games anyway so doesn't matter.

I'd agree with that. Schalke see themselves as number 3, basically. So within the Bundesliga Dortmund would be a step up (but extremely unlikely for a Schalke player) and Bayern the only (half-)acceptable transfer. So like Bla said: either go to Bayern or abroad.
Wolfsburg and (to a slightly lesser degree) Leverkusen are not considered at all. They are just there short-term but have no tradition, so they don't count. Even Hamburg and Bremen probably consider themselves above those two.

It is difficult to get the top top players like Bale however there are players like Griezzman who is just as good who is obtainable if we pay the buyout.

Not surprised if we get none to be honest, especially after Rooney's fucking hat trick against an injury crippled club recently.
