Can't see him being in Man Utd or Arsenal's first 11 tbh
Can he play DM? Can't recall him playing without Schneiderlin next to him

We've been scouting him since he was at Celtic i think so the interest has been there in the past.
Isn't Wanyama the guy there's a quote from an Aberdeen manager about just letting him have the ball because he'd give it away by himself?
By Vivalabanter Go To PostApparently Arsenal are interested in Wanyama too.
VIVA YESSSS
Not top class, but better than Flamini and Arteta and is a true DM.
Wanyama is basically a more physical version of Coquelin, but with the same limitations when it comes to using the football. He's a good player, but not one I think Arsenal need.

Well they need fucking anyone who knows what DM is (as back up to Coquelin) so if they can get him for a reasonable fee it'll do.
By Laboured Go To Post:lolWhenever I watched him for Southampton, he neither went as far forward as Morgan, or as far back. Seemed to make far fewer tackles and interceptions as well, not sure if the stats back that up.

Not sure if id rather get Krychowiak or Wanyama.
I don't think Southampton will sell anyway. Last season they didn't budge on Schneiderlin when we tried to buy him last minute like the procrastinating fucks we are, and i doubt they budge on Wanyama now.

Not sure what Wanyama's thinking honestly. Why go from playing every week at a decent club where you're improving as a player to a rotational squad player at best at Arsenal? He isn't even guaranteed to start at Spurs if he signed for them. Seems foolish to me.
I want Benzema!
I want Benzema!
Southampton now at that stage where things begin to go arseways. Lost too many good players over the last few seasons and can't replace them with comparable quality. Have a few good young players coming through, but that isn't enough to keep themselves in the top 8.
Wanyama is a fool if he wants to join Spurs, Arsenal fair enough. Although he isn't guaranteed to play regularly their. He should stay in all honesty.

Yes, using money that comes from the death of poor Russian's to finance a football club is a small club mentality.

Ye watching France v England now? France look a lot better than in the 6 Nations

You see how Schneiderlin can't play incisive forward passes, right? How unambitious his distribution is right? How he can still be sloppy even despite those things, right?
He was Xavi to Wanyama...
I mean, what is Arsenal's midfield problem right now? We have no-one (Arteta aside) who can control the tempo and thus lose the ball alot when our opponents gain momentum. We have dogshit build up play (by our standards). We have one athletic DM. That's the order of priority imo. I'd sooner play Ramsey at DM than buy someone of that standard.

By Mangoverboard Go To PostClegg, other rugby people.Watched the first half. France looked more disciplined than I remember them being in quite a few seasons, but they didn't look too incisive in attack. England were proper shite though. Gave away stupid penalties, couldn't string together any sort of attack and allowed France to build a decent lead. France didn't have to look anything more than competent to get ahead. Still a bit worrying that they're improving ahead of our World Cup match, but I don't think there's anything for us to be worried about yet. England should be worried though. I know these games are only glorified friendlies, but they're indicators to form before the World Cup. Some of their players were woeful.

To be honest, we already have a solution; Wilshere. He has all the attributes to become a deeper lying midfielder, but not sure if he has the discipline. When he regains his fitness, Jack will surely be a regular.
There is no way Wilshere will be benched. Wenger is too loyal.
England were getting dicked at scrum time in the first half. That's the one area where there's never really a friendly match mentality, that's a worry for them.

England haven't had a proper settled XV for quite a while. They've brought too many people in who've only had a few games and some sub appearances. And some of their best players are alienated for playing in France. It's all coming to haunt them.
You're though, France are improved but they've too much work to do.
Can't believe how good a shot we have at this World Cup

And some of their best players are alienated for playing in France. It's all coming to haunt them.We thought we had a very good shot in 2007 too. Two genuine world class players in the side, one of the best lock forwards and the best centre in world rugby. Third in the world rankings and playing some great rugby. Knocked out in the group stages. Although it's hard not to get excited by things as they stand. We don't play flashy rugby, but we've developed a winning formula. France will be tough because they seem to get their act together for the World Cup, but we've beaten them home and away the last two seasons so we have a good shot at topping the group.

England are actually playing quite similar to our match against them in Dublin last March. They're getting beaten up front and at the breakdown by a rampant home side. And when they actually get the ball in attack they're snuffed out rather easily. They're not a good travelling side. Forwards and too soft and backs too clumsy. But something happens when they get home and suddenly they're all 20% better. It's why I think they've a decent shot at winning the tournament. If the tournament was anywhere other than Britain I'd say they'd get knocked out in the quarters.
By fadetoblack Go To PostLazio without Klose still playing well, beating Bologna.Lazio does have the advantage of more squad continuity.
Truly the better Roman side.
I suspect Roma's attack will improve as they cohere in the coming weeks. The problem is, of course, that if they can't batter past your lot next week, they'll have already squandered their scudetto hopes.

I have good faith we've learned our lessons from 2007 and 2011. I still have some problems with our attack but we certainly know how to grind out a win and shut down the opposition.
Ya England have a weird home performance boost, they really do all give it everything. I don't think they'll come close to winning it though. Australia will run them ragged and it's a tough road if you finish second.

Wanyama is a good player, but yeah he's pretty much the same type of player as Le Coq.
Still think we're interested in that Polish player from Sevilla.

Wholly agreed. Honestly Krychowiak isn't a great passer or string puller either but he's an upgrade on Coq and Wanyama in that regard...
