a few things
1 - can't upload profile picture, receive a 500 internal server error when i try (chrome)
2 - the spacing between posts isn't as clearly defined as it could be for readability, the
thing could extend into the top of the poster's avatar, maybe alternate background colors, or have posts contained in boxes that pop out like comment bubbles from the avatars maybe?
3 - this is what it looks like browsing on my 5s:
4 - would be nice to eventually have dynamically updating threads kind of like how twitter will auto refresh and tell you if something new is on your feed
really like how the layout slides out when you reply to a post. cool stuff.

There's an issue with uploading avatars above 10kb.
Responsive skin hasn't been started yet.
Dynamically updated threads has been discussed but is a long undertaking. That will be a future release.

You need a <=10kb jpg image for avatar but even then it might not work. I wouldn't worry too much about avatars yet, they'll be fixed soon enough.
I added some minor UI improvements and added the ability to preview posts in real time. Happy posting and let me know if you find any bugs.
Reilo, I'm seriously impressed with how quickly you're almost singlehandedly improving the site and adding such important and valuable features. Just absolutely fantastic. Thanks for all of your hard work.

Any plans for a "First Unread Post" button?Yes. Gotta figure out the logic behind that.
Layout suggestion:
Once the board becomes populated I think the size of the threads on the threads-overview page may be an issue as well as the unused real estate.
I put red Xs on parts I think can be minimized in order to display more threads without scrolling. Maybe further maximize the amount of threads without scrolling by lowering the font on the threads just a bit.
Just something that I think may help once things get rolling.

the lines dividing posts helped. thanks for adding that
also another suggestion, can anything be done about that zoomed in look? would prefer something the size of this forum carried over to the beta

FYI, the lines that that were darkened on threads are still very light on the the control panel so you can barely make out the boxes for text entry.
Avatar uploading has been fixed. As has the issue that preventing too large of posts to be previewed.
All of you should set a nice avatar. Don't be afraid of the filesize, we are resizing it on the fly. Look how cool viakado's avatar looks as a cover image: http://beta.slaent.com/thread/175/
Onto responsive skin.

Avatar upload worked for me but looks like there is a bit too much artifacting. Maybe its just from jpeg compression?
Still can't upload an avatar
You have the worst computer in the world lol

Yea, possibly. I can uptick it a bit, but your best bet is to upload a higher res image.
Man I don't even know. I'll keep trying.I'll hook up error reporting today so we can catch any issues and pinpoint it easier.
When I click the arrow of a thread from the home page it still doesn't take me to the last post made, just the first.
is it just me or does anyone else feel thread titles are too big?
my line of thinking is that when the forum gets populated, getting to the bottom of the page will take a wee bit more work.

Mentioned that earlier as well as a few other things.

reilo, if you will, i made a mock-up to illustrate my observation instead of explaining it.
basically i took out a lot of negative space and made thread titles a lot smaller.
i changed it up a bit because i thought this would reduce the horizontal length of each page.
what do you guys think?

Yep, 100%
I think there's a new bug, when scrolling quickly the new reply window flashes briefly. Again, on Safari.
Everything else is shaping up to be mint. Amazing progress.

Looking good in Firefox on my Windows 7 box.
Alignment is off on mobile though, Safari on iOS. I figured that will come later, but I can take some screens if you need it.
Amazing progress overall.

I just started working on mobile tonight. Got the homepage and menu done, started work on the thread listing page. Should be ready by tomorrow night.
Amazing progress overall.
Thanks!
Can we get page indicators to display how many pages a thread has and so that we can also click on them?

That's to come later... It's actually quite a big strain on the database to calculate that so we opted for a simplistic approach.
awwwwww yiiiissssss*nods*

changing my user name worked.
We have restrictions on username for "security reasons" where if you somehow manage to have a username with spaces it gets normalized on the backend with all of the white spaces removed. We added a restriction for registration and profile editing where you can't have spaces in your username, so that issue should be fixed.
Alright party people, first run at the mobile skin is up and ready. Please clear your browser. I've only tested on iOS 7.1 and Nexus 7 2 emulation mode and my own personal Nexus 7 tablet.
Let me know if I missed anything or you find any quirks/bugs and if readability/touchability is an issue.

Nice job!
some bugs on my moto x with chrome:
-I'm having similar issues on landscape mode
-home page is slow to render when you scroll.
-The quote, link, edit buttons should probably either aligned to the right or across the top of a post. Right now they are just floating towards the right. They could be a little more spaced out too so they are easier to hit.
-the edit post screen doesn't look quite right
-when you open the menu, it still lets you scroll up and down on the thread
