Anyone upgrading?
Thinking about waiting for a couple months before doing so on my SP3. Hopefully they'll iron out all the major kinks and vulnerabilities by then.

How is Windows 8 and 10? I have Windows 7 on Mac for BootCamp for certain apps when I need it on rare occasion.

downloading the ISO for now, will install later once there are a few updates out and everything is stable. DX12 is the only reason I want to upgrade.

Guys, i need help with the update to windows 10.
The windows bt folder downloaded automatically for me yesterday (5.12gb).
Then i decided to do the trick deleting the content on the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download (the BT folder was emptied when i did that)
Then run a command prompt as admin, and typed in wuauclt.exe /updatenow
A 2.9gb download started. It downloaded and then began to prepare install. Then i got an error 80240020 and stopped.
The new BT windows folder has the same size after this (5.12gb)

Quick question.
I did this (How to: Change User Folder Locations in Windows 7) on windows seven, and i wan't to make sure that it's still there and fine on 10, but i can't find my user thing, and when i go to the C drive and check my user folder that way, it says all my folders on my C drive. :( can anyone help. ?

Just upgraded, nothing went wrong so that's good. Probably gonna do a clean install today. Thank MS for including a normal start button again.
My desktop upgraded nicely and then got the clean wipe straight after.
took four hours altogether.
now I reserved it on my laptop but the Update is being pesky and I don't want to upgrade until next year because my Course director for my IT course at my local college refuses to support WIndows 10 for my classes til next year.. so I keep having to stop it from attempting to update.

Yeah, it's a phased release. I just downloaded the .iso from Microsoft's site. Works fine and it says it's verified.

Just to echo the others - cleaning out the Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder and then running wuauclt.exe /updatenow as an admin sorted it out for me. Pretty quick install and no problems from there. Great stuff so far.

Lack of adblocker for Edge is a deal breaker, it's basically my Slaent/Twitter browser now. Pretty nice otherwise.
Updated on my home desktop. Digging it so far. Going to try Edge for a while, see if it pulls me from Firefox or not.

yeah I'm waiting for Chrome/Firefox extension support. Hopefully soon.
yeah i would switch to Edge too, i like it a lot but then i opened a site and the browser almost exploded from all these ads.
Finally got that update notice on my machine (I realize I could have just used the media tool on their website).

Also, FYI, part of the reason everything seems smoother with Edge is that you haven't installed an ad blocker yet. They're incredible resource hogs.
My copy is ready, but I don't know if I want to install it. I change hardware in my rig and the talk about win10 not liking that worries me.
On a laptop I have the trackpad set so that clicking both buttons functions as a middle click. However, in Windows 10 doing that also brings up the search function. I can't find a setting in the trackpad options or the search options to disable this. Anybody got any ideas? I couldn't find anything via Google.
