Her was so amazing.
Steam apparently went to see it last night, and we haven't heard from him since. I'm afraid he's committed suicide after seeing it.
RIP Steam.

I've been getting some movies recently from someone who knows someone that is an awards voter or something. Got those promotional "for your consideration discs."
Watched Dallas Buyer's Club last weekend which was good. I have 12 years a slave for this weekend. lol @ DBC disc opening by telling me to break the disc in half after I watch the movie. Yeah fucking right.

My favorite movies of all time are High Fidelity, Reality Bites and Almost Famous.
Going to watch 12 Years a Slave on Sunday. Heard good things about DBC so I'll probably watch it somewhere down the line.

I love seeing actors transform themselves for roles and that's why I'm gonna watch DBC. Heard that Leto looks dangerously thin in it.
ok fuck you brahI heard it might not come out. I know they released "The Moon Song" on iTunes. The rest is in licensing limbo.
Also Her was really good. Crazy that the OST isn't available. It was so good.

I finally watched Gravity today. It was excellent.
I will forever regret not seeing that movie in 3D IMAX.

Last weekend I got my dog fixed and had to baby him so I stood home and watched Nebraska, Dallas Buyers Club, The Way Way Back, Bully and Blue Jasmine.
Mcconaughey was good in DBC, but I really don't think it was better or even close to Phoenix in Her or Chiwetel in 12 years.

I've been in the mood for action flicks, so I saw Non-Stop and liked it. Liam Neesons is my shit, and all.
This week I'm going to see Need for Speed because I love Cudi and Aaron Paul.
On top of that, I love the movie theater in Downtown Disney, it's fucking beautiful, the seats recline, there are waiters that serve you drinks and food, it's 4K, with a massive screen, and it's just so damn comfortable to be in.

i saw The wind rises earlier.
i liked it a lot. its classic miyazaki film.
it was a joy to watch.
next on my list is Dallas Buyers Club and The Wolf of Wall Street.

I liked it..nothing amazing but its good for what it is.
i saw The wind rises earlier.I wouldn't call it that classic a miyazaki. It lacked some of his typical polish.

It was good none the less though.
It felt short too.

Wolf of Wall Street is amazing.
I'll be watching DBC soon.
This week I'm going to see Need for Speed because I love Cudi and Aaron Paul.If you like nice cars going really fast for two hours, Need for Speed is for you. It's dumb, but that's what I expected. So I enjoyed it.
You saw an early screening/early "midnight" premier somewhere?
In any case, yeah the movie caters to my love of cars.

You saw an early screening/early "midnight" premier somewhere?Yeah, I went to a showing tonight. The plot is really inconsequential, but there's lots of racing and it's nicely done. Practical effects, more movies should use them.

is it better than FF?
This isn't really doing what Fast and Furious movies do these days. Those movies got so crazy. This is more on the level with the first Fast and the Furious or Tokyo Drift in terms of how focused on the racing it is.the question that everyone is begging to know. You saw an early screening/early "midnight" premier somewhere?Yeah, I went to a showing tonight. Nebraska was entertaining enough, but I really don't think it was as upper tier as it was made out to be.
Nebraska was like watching me visit my dad's family.Last weekend I got my dog fixed and had to baby him so I stood home and watched Nebraska, Dallas Buyers Club, The Way Way Back, Bully and Blue Jasmine.

Lol. Until the money grubbing kicked in, watching that family was more depressing than anything else.
I just saw 12yrs a slave. i liked it, but if that's what it takes to win academy awards via white guilt trip, then sign me up.
Watched Dallas Buyers club. Decent. Al around a decent movie, no scene in particular stuck around in my head so I can't say it was anything more than decent. I don't really see how Leto won an Oscar. His character didn't have any depth(nor did any other supporting character) and his performance wasn't amazing. Mcconaughey's performance was good but I have to think there were probably better choices. I guess they were awarded for how they transformed their bodies.

I had to go to a wake for the Irish part of my family. The rednecks showed... That movie hit even closer now.
I went and saw Jason Bateman's "Bad Words" last night and it was fucking hilarious. Some legendary put-downs and "take no shit" attitude in that movie.
another short film i adore.
this wasn't intended for the festival circuit,
it was a commission by canon to promote their C500 camera.

I think Winter Soldier is my favorite Marvel movie.
I have a friend who is super smart and should know better who thinks that the original Winter Solider run in the comics was better than anything Alan Moore ever wrote, including Watchmen. He's nuts, but I can't disagree that it rocked and I'm totally hyped to see the movie.
Thought the TWS was a fantastic film. The thing that stood out to me was Caps movement. It was the comic come to life. So good that I am going to see it twice. Something I dont do for a film in the theaters.
Won some tickets to see Godzilla tonight. Cranston and the Godzilla monster were terrific, but they weren't in the movie enough. Movie had too much focus on z-tier plots with bad actors. It was okay overall.
reeeeeeeeaaaallllly enjoyed Grand Budapest Hotel.Haven't finished that.
Just finished raid 2. It's good.
A few years back I started this project where I would watch all the Academy Award nominees/winners from the previous year. My wife joined me, and it was all good until we saw Black Swan, and she was like wtf. Then she started doing something I never do, which is read about a movie before seeing it. I think The Kids are All right or something was up next, and she said she wouldn't join me anymore. So I lost interest.
Hell, I still have not seen The Fighter yet.
Anyway, she'll go see the new Transformers with me, but not TMNT. Guess I'll be doing that one alone.

Best I've seen recently is easily Short Term 12, and I watch a ton of movies.

Some truly magnificent scences in there. I don't want to spoil a thing. Great music (not just as the score, also included in the story itself), great performances, great everything.
