I don't know what us Americans want to avoid more. A discussion on the rise of domestic terrorism because its being done mostly by white males or a discussion about how there are too many guns out there that anyone can gain access and that this lone shooter issue is only going to get worse.

Good for you but people are still going to get shot up, it's not an either or thing. Why would this hold back a gunman from shooting anyone. It's not much unlike the good old shitty "if it just saves one life" argument, that now means England is a fucking nanny state.

Hardly what I said. There's lots of things you can do isn't there? But certainly for once, take a breath or two before doing unnecessary things in some knee jerk reaction, and think about if that will really help anything. I don't think doing security checks on people everywhere that there's a crowd of people is a viable solution to anything like this. At best it will move the shooter to another place, at worst the shooter will just kill the guy or two doing security checks if he really wants to shoot up a theater.

Would you also suggest security checks at every church, and think this would stop another Charleston?

If it's a common problem nothing wrong with taking those steps. I think a lot of the theater shootings come from being from being cowards under the cover of darkness they can go through with it

it won't stop all the shootings but how many times has the scenario happened where the shooter said fuck and shot up the screeners?

I'm pissed because at the end of the day the ramifications behind this will go crazy. I work at a hospital in Baton Rouge and I'm awaiting the inevitable security backlash. People are gonna be afraid. Very afraid. Corporate entities are going to turn this into a justification for some stupid shit around here. Copycats are gonna come out the woodwork and think it's okay to perform a terrorist act.

Fuck them motherfuckers. We are about to suffer. Prayers out for Lafayette. Prayers for all the families. Prayers for us, humanity. Because we are all family. And when one of us hurts another, it's a tragedy.

We are all sitting in huddle this morning discussing the shooting and the protocols that are being updated. For once, there are no smiles. No joy to help the sick. Anger and sadness permeates through the conference room.

No one will stand up against gun control in this country because...

1.) There's to much money to be made selling weapons. We're already the #1 supplier of weapons in the world. It's far to profitable to let a few murders close those revenue streams here at home and Washington surely isn't going to stop supporting their allies.

2.) If anyone with any kind of authority to make a change even attempted to speak out against guns someone would just kill that person. Straight up, that's why nothing will really never change. Any politician who would dare speak out wouldn't be elected for one, but that person also would be looking over their shoulder for the entirety of their term. It's not worth it. We just have to live with the fact that this is our way of life. No amount of death is going to spur change.

Yeah, I've given up on gun control in the US, I just hope we start dealing with these white supremacists that are doing the shooting.

The other night I was watching this newscast where this guy was talking about ISIS utilizes the internet to radicalize individual people and don't really need organized terrorism anymore.

I immediately thought, "you mean the way white people have been doing it for ever in this country with like the KKK and white supremacist propaganda?"
