Can we talk about FanDuel or Draft Kings. How does this work. Always hearing commercials how dudes making $$$ but never actually tried it myself.
Yahoo just started their version which is what I play. Basically you can do head-to-head, group or 50/50 with the entry fees going to the winner(s) after Yahoo takes a cut. They also offer free group contests everyday with a $100 prize. Sometimes they do special contests like a $5 entry fee with a $25k prize pool (winner gets like 5k but you are playing vs. thousands)
I mostly play H2H cos it's really hard to win anything in the other formats with the amounts I play with ($1-10 per contest lol). Entry fees range from $1-$500
For example, here is one of my H2H matches today:
https://sports.yahoo.com/dailyfantasy/contest/38400/5806327/5806528
Both of us put in $5 and the winner will get $9 with Yahoo taking $1
You are given a $200 budget and you have to fill every position. The good players and starting pitchers obviously cost the most (Kershaw was $58 today) so you really have to follow the sport to play daily fantasy effectively. Things like what stars are in a slump and what cheap players are hot. I suspect that's why the leagues are okay with it. I have certainly consumed more MLB than I ever have since I started playing dailies.
The NFL version of this will be wild. Can't wait
PS: There's a nice how to play video in that link
By DY_nasty Go To PostI have to take this Rousey/Bethe bet. Fucking +800
lol
best line for that was rousey by ko...really nice +200 or so....I didn't take it though because I thought she was just gonna sub her asap--aint expect chick to be so aint shit that she got stopped by strikes

too much work that would be better spent on just betting on lines every night
if you're absolutely going to do it, then high stakes head to heads are your best bets value wise
so much cash to be won on MLB atm. Kershaw/Greinke are easy bets every night, Nats are still getting good lines only by reputation despite them being aint shit....yall gotta learn.
Now the season has started I decided to put in a cheeky bet today. Think I'll keep playing low stakes if I see some decent odds.
Also transferred 85 euros out of my account to enjoy some of the winnings. Gonna use that to pay for a Fox Sports subscription.
Just put some small amount for West Ham to win by one goal against Arsenal (1 gives 3.6 at half time). If the score stays the same in the second half, I'm good.

fanduel is decent. gotta learn the best gametype that works for you and which odds you like the best. One day fantasy leagues, either full weekend/Monday night or splits. Not much to buy in, but obviously the bigger payout games have a much bigger pool of players.
Went in to last year with about $40 just to fuck around, didn't lose money so at least there's that. Probably ended up a couple hundred ahead, but that was with a $350 win in the mix.
I'm guessing you can make some good money if you put a lot in and really work it, or just pull out a win in the big games.
Ok, first rule of sports betting... betting against emotions. Not your own, but those of the many.
There's a cup game to be played between Paris FC, newly promoted to Ligue 2, and Metz, which just went from Ligue 1 to Ligue 2.
There are lots of Parisians who want to have a second good club, and they're cheering like mad for them. The game is in Paris, but still, I feel like Metz has a better shot. Their odds are 1 for 3.1, which seems insane to me (it was 2.7 yesterday).
I put a fair bit of money there.

I'm putting a fiver on an four game combination. With four games having to go my way it's always risky. So I'll see how it goes.
NBA opening with some fairly unbettable action unfortunately
CAVS vs Bulls
Spurs vs Thunder
sigh--can't say i'll touch either of those

Over.
Tbh I'd prolly bet under on both.
That's even shakier than just picking a flat winner unless the lines are put at ridiculous margins. I'd expect 205 for the west game, 195 east.
Had a couple of good days.
I was right down to £7 in my betting accounts with no funds to reload due to an expensive last few months. Decided to go for it and The Pizza Man delivered
I spunked away some of this money drinking after work but still had enough to back my man Muzi Yeni in S.Africa yesterday.
Had a few small top ups to make a solid day but Portsmouth failing to win did me out of a cool £500.
Pop to today and the start if the Ebor meeting, I had £10 on Storm the Stars who duly obliged at 4/1 and had the first 3 winners at the meeting in my crazy multiple bet which eventually finished with 1st, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 5th. Even a 4th from the last horse would have had me picking up another £300 or so (Still picked up £70 from the treble). Fortunately I got the big winner of the day at the meeting too.
So as it stands i've turned my £7 into a shade over £500. Heading into the 2nd day of the Ebor with some hopes and dreams.

Golden Horn 1st Arabian Queen 2nd. Was my dream result. Saved by the bell going down in 2nd in the next race was gutting as that would have netted me well over a grand. So close, yet so far.

Do you guys follow horse racing to the letter to place these bets? Seems like a difficult thing to get in to.

You can have success without being mega into it. A little bit of knowledge and you're ahead of alot of punters.
But for example the reason I backed Esoterique in France the other day was because it was a half length behind Muhaarar last time and a length behind Solow the time before, was at its ideal trip and the ground was perfect just slightly softer than good. Of course, this could have gone wrong and not won but its ultra satisfying when a race runs perfect to how you predicted.
Bet365 running an inplay offer on Arsenal v Liverpool.
Bet up to £50 pre-game, and then the same amount inplay. If the inplay loses, they'll refund it
If you think Arsenal will win, you can bet £50 on them now at 1.75, and then £50 on Liverpool or Draw (Double chance) at 2.10 inplay. If Arsenal win, you make £37.50, if they don't you make £5.
If you think it'll be a draw, bet on Arsenal or Liverpool (Double chance) now at 1.25 then draw inplay at 4.00. If either Arsenal or Liverpool win, you make £12.50, if it's a draw you make £100
If you think Liverpool will win, bet on Arsenal or Draw (Double chance) at 1.18 now, and Liverpool inplay at 5.00. If Arsenal win or draw, you make £9, if Liverpool win you make £150.
Free money if you can front £100 for a few hours.

Yeah I posted that for when they've done it before.
Over 0.5 goals pre match and 0-0 in play is another good one with a higher returns if the in play wins.

Ya did that before for Madrid v Juve. Ended in a draw too so got quite a bit. The new customers must be worth it for them.
And ya Linius like KP said you don't have to be super into the horses but a bit of knowledge can go a long way.
Now that the football has been back a few weeks, time to get cracking on a few accums

By KP Go To PostYeah I posted that for when they've done it before. It's pretty bad for the prematch bet, though, isn't it? Over 0.5 is 1.040, which is £2 right? I just can't see this game ending 0-0, but if it did £550 would be tidy as fuck.

I'm trying to understand this bet365 offer but I don't get what inplay bets are? Don't think I've ever seen Unibet use that word.

Bets you can place while the game is live.
Oh it's like live betting on Unibet. But how do they know the odds for inplay bets already? At Unibet these change constantly, they're not fixed for obvious reasons.
They don't know, you place one bet beforehand and then wait until the game starts and place your in play bet.
If you just signing up for Bet365 remember you need passport/other such identification to withdraw afterwards

I must be dumb, but in that post there are numbers for the inplay bets, 2.10 on Liverpool or Draw for example. If we don't know those numbers yet how can we even know if this scenario falls trough? If the odds end up being lower all the numbers change right?
Oh sorry, I just assumed he used the odds those bets are currently sitting at. They won't drastically change until someone has a major chance so of you get your inplay done right away you'll get those odds
Oh I see. Then I can't do this because it's a fucking monday night game. That introduction week thing I talked about has started then.

If we don't know those numbers yet how can we even know if this scenario falls trough? If the odds end up being lower all the numbers change right? We know where the numbers sit currently. They're definitely liable to change closer to the game, so the exact amount you could win isn't going to be the same as the numbers I mentioned above. That said, all of those three situations will yield you some profit regardless. You can place your prematch bet and the inplay extremely close to each other so the numbers don't waiver.
The basic rule, though, is to play the bet that's under evens prematch, and the one that's over evens inplay.
Anybody bet large amounts for long term results? Like over/under 8 wins for the Dolphins etc.?
For some reason I hate those kind of bets and would way rather do a parlay in the short term.
Think I'll try the daily fantasy NFL leagues this season especially since there will probably be a bunch of bonuses for signing up

I like going for the riskier in-plays for higher returns even if it means tiny returns on the pre-match. I do first scorer sometimes and was genuinely going to stick £50 in Rakitic in the final but bottled it :(:(:(

Had a good last couple of days on horses and the Athletics World Championships.
Hit this treble today.
Okay boys, here we go. Start of football---and there are some juicy bits. Particularly the spread of the Pats and Steelers game. -7.5 for NE at 105---so that's a near even money bet. I feel comfortable about a 10 point victory for the pats at worst.
Would not be taking NE in that game. It is first game of year, and ceremony night. Last i checked Steelers still have brown and big ben, and the patriots don't have browner or revis.
Taking points on steelers

If it was mid season then yeah. But first game got a bunch of variables thrown in. Browner and Revis is a big loss breh

Pats are also missing Stork,Blount, and LaFell. Also Browner and Revis.
It basically boils down to Brady and Gronk vs Ben and Brown.
Depending on the over, i might take that vs points tbh

52.5 @ 115
I think the Pats win by more than 7.5 easily, but if you feel so strongly about the Steelers, why wouldn't you just say fuck it and go moneyline--they are at 255

Because i don't think they're gonna win. It's just not gonna be a two score difference. Thats what my gut says at least.
SBG done gave ya boy a free $25 deposit. Weeeeeeeee!

so you saw the first half of the game right? Steelers are on pace to get 500+ yards in the game. Like I predicted offensively but...
Scobee fucked up. He missed 2 FGs which would've made it a 1 point game. First kicker on Steelers since 1970 to miss two in a game and he did it in a half
OF COURSE HE IS

WKU coming through, but I did parlay so I'm fucked.
Going forward though I'm always putting bread on Cheatriots at the house. Opponents apparently get spooked in Gillette.
