Been watching this the last hour. Totally fascinating documentary on the presidential politics of the decade. Jimmy Carter had a lot of bad luck but his presidency failed so epically mostly due to stupid stunts by him. I knew these stories but seeing the news reports from the time shows how bad he was at politics.. I think it re-airs tonight. Definitely worth a watch...

Yeah I am watching this now and yeah Carter had no sense at all of how things would be perceived by the public. It makes a lot more sense why Reagan who was had such great showmanship whupped his ass in the election. Plus you know how Reagan had an agreement with Iran to keep the hostages longer but nobody knew that then.

No you idiots, Bush was your Carter and Obama is our Reagan. Except Obama actually made the country better.
