Warranty Stories... Fuck Samsung Quality...
Samsung's shitty EVO 840 SSDs went to crap and my 750GB model is going through a warranty replacement period right now. 1-3 weeks of missing out on work and inconvenience... My model is discontinued after a fucking year and I don't even know if I'll even get a new, much less refurbished, SSD model. I'm just really frustrated and I hope this gets sorted out as soon as possible...
I'm running a back up right now on a 80GB leftover drive and it's hardly ideal for portability and for work. So glad Apple has such a good Time Machine app to back stuff up. I can access files but I can't use my apps since there's barely any space to install stuff...
I feel like shit, does anyone have any other warranty experience or hard drive stories?

I generally find that samsungs build quality is pretty good.
I know a lot of their pc parts, hardware wise, aren't the ABSOLUTE cutting edge in terms of performance (buying an EVO means you weren't really going for that anyway).
They do churn out new models of everything really quickly though.
Sucks about the wait though. But thats a problem with all HDD manufacturers AFAIK.

I made the mistake of getting an EVO instead of a Pro just to save $50...
I got an SSD for an SSD sake just because I was so fed up with HDDs and their portability issues for laptops.
It's just the 840 series that had problems and no one knew until more than a year later, a month before they discontinued it... It's more of a pain because I need someone to help me communicate English over phone for warranty and customer service. Email is okay though.
