Van Gundy speaking the truthThis shit is stupid, if the west is so great why are we back to back champions?
Heat wouldn't be in 4 straight finals if they were in the west
I think he means since each team is challenging from the 1st round that it will wear you out more so future rounds will be harder.Van Gundy speaking the truthThis shit is stupid, if the west is so great why are we back to back champions?

only have to play 1 west team :P
no bobcats or bucks in the first round
Miami's obviously an all-time great team that has earned their rings, but this has to be one of the only times ever where a team has made the Finals without playing a single good team.
have to play the best team from the west.Van Gundy speaking the truthThis shit is stupid, if the west is so great why are we back to back champions?

Anyway, fuck that and fuck the pacers. We goin to the finalllllllls.
Because the West teams have to play other good teams and get worn down. It's not complicated.Van Gundy speaking the truthThis shit is stupid, if the west is so great why are we back to back champions?

the number one team in the east with the BEST defense in the league isn't a good team?
WHAAAAAAAAAT

Come on, that's not really fair.
Brooklyn was actually pretty good the second half of the season!
Don't give me worn down bullshit. We had a half gimped Dwyane Wade for two years straight and still won.Because the West teams have to play other good teams and get worn down. The Seahawks had to go through a gauntlet in the NFC, and got worn down but that didn't stop them from beating the Broncos who cake walked all year.
Really the most impressive part of the Heat "dynasty" is Riley committing tampering to woo Lebron. Once Lebron made his Decision all they had to do was not trip over each other and a few rings would happen as a matter of course.
Don't give me worn down bullshit. We had a half gimped Dwyane Wade for two years straight and still won.really? you gonna play that "getting worn out due to the high competitive nature of the west" isn't real or at the very least a byproduct of playing legit championship contenders in every round?
The west doesn't play defense, It's not wearing at all running up and down the court for lay ups.Don't give me worn down bullshit. or San Antonio who ripped through the west last year?
Because both of them had less games to reach the finals.
fuck outta here

I am not gonna update the graphic or put up the scores of every game like The Pacers deserve that, fuck that.
When you play more great teams, the odds of being upset increase and the odds of losing at some point in the path to the playoffs increase. You could view it as that series between two great teams are a coin flip. Miami has to win one coin flip (and really, the Spurs and Heat were completely equal last year in quality), OKC has to win four in a row.

Parker literally got injured on the way to the Finals last year. A typical fatigue injury. We were worn down. Still better, and should have won, but that says more about the Heat than anything.
Yes, it is harder to beat 4 good teams than 1. Come on.
The Heat have been shielded from potential matchup issues because of their conference too. Who knows how they'd do against jumpshooting bigs like Dirk or LMA, bangers like Memphis, or the CP3-Griffin tandem. They just haven't had to deal with it.
Miami has had their backs against the wall as much as anyone. Boston could have beat them and so could have the Pacers. In the last four years it's been a dark horse and a coin toss between the Spurs and OKC out in the West.
The year that the dark horse got out of the West, they beat the Heat. Years that the obvious favorites got out, they lost. Shit doesn't matter.

Miami suffers from that Mayweather syndrome...make opponent look like shit, all of a sudden opponent was never shit to begin with. Miami would have swept the Dallas team that the Spurs barely survived.

They would have beaten all of them easily. Prove me wrong.
I missed the game except for the last 2/3 of the 4th, but how often is Rashard Lewis going to be shooting like that?
Often enough. :D

They've beaten 3 good teams in 3 years, like I said. 2 of them in 7 game coinflips, and then a legitimately impressive 5-game series win over the 2012 Thunder.
That's all they've done. And even if they lose this year, at worst they'll walk away with a Silver Medal. And if they do, we'll never know if they're actually the 2nd best team or the 9th, because the East/West seeding is so lopsided. Hell, even if they win it all, I won't be convinced they'd have made it through 3 rounds in the West anyhow, with all the different matchups.
This is the competitiveness Riley's tampering robbed us of.
Couper Moorhead @CoupNBA 46s
In six games against the Indiana Pacers and Roy Hibbert, LeBron James shot 31-of-38 in the restricted area for 81.6 percent shooting.

fuck george hill and roy hibbert. garbage.
Really need Chicago to make a big move this offseason so that this awful Pacers team doesnt stumble their way into the ECF again.

Man I love this team, they do everything right, great sportsmanship at the end of that.
4 straight Finals, we so don't deserve them. And we so take them for granted, honestly while this is fantastic, it still feels like we are supposed to do this every year or they suck.
Spurs still scare the shit out of me but I am not going to stop believing now. Heat in 6 no matter who we play. (I say six cause we are not winning a 7 on the road)

What? How the hell did Riley rob anything? All he gave you was a great team to watch. Where do you think LeBron was going? Wouldn't have made the East any better overall, just would have been more WC championships and people crying about something else while laughing at LeBron for having no rings. Deal with it.

The only reason the West is more competitive is because they're all mediocre, so the top seeds struggle with the bottom seeds. The East is where the dominance resides, don't kid yourself. #3peat
