By tootsi666 Go To PostWhere are Supremacy from? "European team" makes me cringeThey from the Eurozone, breh. They have given their identity to a greater whole.
Resistance is futile.
That Fathom match was beautiful. Just think too. These guys weren't even using clamber routes that 343i knows about.
I really enjoy watching Halo e-sports, but I think what they could really use are replays (after match, of course). They talk about different game-changing feats, but wouldn't it be nice to re-visit them?
For those who missed these, here are the map layouts (weapon placements/etc.) for the 2 maps in today's event:

On Fathom, I believe the teams spawn at D, making them equidistant from OS and Sniper.
Seeing Empire with zero Sniper rifles feels weird now, haha

By Wesleyshark Go To PostWe're back to grunts again. The new grunts are the old halo CE grunts with more polygons and mystical 343 hates nerds magicBesides Frankie saying that, do you have any real proof?
By Ragnarok Flames Go To PostBesides Frankie saying that, do you have any real proof?About the grunts? Go pack through this thread as this has been discussed and things posted and linked to. I'm not going to bother digging that back up as I have no complaints with a next generation title looking more detailed than a game from 11+ yrs ago. :p
I'm stoked for customizable assassinations. I really hope they bring back full on armor customization though. Feels like such a step backwards :(
Apparently it was the latter but it changed later on amongst many other things.
Regardless of who said what though (and I mean this in the least "arrogant" sounding way possible) it's clear these Grunts are a different breed from the originals. Unless 343 decides to retcon dat ass :p
By Ragnarok Flames Go To PostBesides Frankie saying that, do you have any real proof? If I recall correctly Admiral went on twitter and got an answer from one of the old Bungie guys about whether Grunts were originally intended to have an exoskeleton or tough alligator-like skin.

By CRIMSONxSERAPH Go To PostI can't take the old design (the one that etched into my nostalgia core) seriously anymore. That's how much the new design added aesthetically, imo.Why is that?
I also enjoy the new armor design but there's nothing wrong with the classic Mark VI design to me. I don't think it looks particularly silly or anything. To me it looks simple and streamlined, less bulky than its predecessors and a natural looking evolution over the Mark V and by extension the Mark IV.
By Poodlestrike Go To PostPistol's a real utility weapon. AR starts redeemed? As long as we spawn with an useful utility weapon AR start is totally fine unless someone wants BR starts for BR's sake.
I don't mind AR starts in Halo 5, which is a crazy thing to say. I'd still like to see BR starts, but maybe I'm not going to hate life on AR starts.
By CRIMSONxSERAPH Go To PostSee, we can all play nice (outside of MP, of course)<3 all you guys
Edit: Covenant design aside, while Chief's design change was initially more jarring, I can't take the old design (the one that etched into my nostalgia core) seriously anymore. That's how much the new design added aesthetically, imo.
New Chief design or bust.
I'm regards to Chief, I love his new armor. It's the coolest design change 343 did in Halo 4. The completed was just really lame... along with a lot of other things... a looooot of other things...
BUT; that was Halo 4 and it's a horse that's been beaten into a smooth bloody pulp, mixed into a salty margarita and distributed amongst the Halo community. Ain't no changing what happened. We can only hope 343 have learned from their mistakes and can carry the series forward. Which it looks like they're doing for the most part.
By Fata1moose Go To PostHope we get some CTF in the later rounds.I think ctf games are my favorite ones to watch.
By ViewtifulJC Go To Post"Strangle a fool" emoji gonna get a lot of use.
By Captain Friendo Go To PostWhy is that? The old one looks weak in comparison now. I see Chief in 1-3, and I think, "yeah that's Chief, but he's nerfed". I see Chief in 4 and now 5 and I think "that's Chief ready to go to work"

When we first got a look at 4, I didn't like the shoulder armor. Now, I think the old shoulders help make him look smaller and big-headed. Basically 1-3 is more vertical shaped, like a tower, whereas 4 and 5 is bulked up a bit and more strategic armor which gives him an overall fitness we hadn't seen before. I don't want just a giant, I want a giant super soldier.
By -Ryn Go To Post<3 all you guysWow. Much love. Such feels.
By Wesleyshark Go To PostI think ctf games are my favorite ones to watch. That's because CTF is the GOAT gametype, only beaten by Invasion and Swordball Oddbase. Since neither of those appeared in any game besides Reach, CTF wins.

By daedalius Go To PostWas kind of hoping the other team would win so we could get a slightly longer series, lolYup, but the comeback was a nice consolation prize.

By Fata1moose Go To PostHope we get some CTF in the later rounds. There's no CTF in the build. The build they are playing is from May. That's why motion tracker is still on, but covered with a sticker.
The low aim assist makes aiming look slower and less accurate compared to Halo 2A (obviosly it gets better when pros have more time with the game but with the limitations of the controller, the aiming will never be 100% fluid). Good matches anyway. Pistol looks great.
By Wesleyshark Go To PostInvasion was my #1. RIP in pieces. It's nice there will be a spiritual successor of sorts in Halo 5 but... without dat wort wort... it just won't be the same...

Makes sense with the old build, I was previously concerned that they couldn't toggle it off yet.

I see Chief in 4 and now 5 and I think "that's Chief ready to go to work"That's fair, and I see where you're coming from. From a lore perspective I always saw it as evolution.

Halo IV: Bulky Spartan Armor, compensating for no shields.
Mark V: An evolution with shields, smooth but still a bit fat.
Mark VI: Further evolution of the technology to the point where the suit and its handler are effectively one in the same, and I think the Halo 2 Anniversary cutscenes do a good job of making it still look tough.
What we see in H4/5 is a bit bulkier again but it does a good job of making him look like a machine of pure death.
Who knows, maybe Spartans vs. Elites Warzone could come post launch.
There's always hope!
WOW at the range on the shotty. All the weapons seem to have better range than they've had in the past, maybe to compensate for the increased map size?
Whatever it is, the sandbox has never looked better, IMO.
Shame nobody's going for the Plasma Caster, though. Saw some footage the other day of one guy cleaning up with it, think sleeping on it is a mistake.

I'm hope they keep elites out of pvp. I have warmed up to the warzone model of having ai enemies but I never liked having elites mixed in.pvp.
WOW! Talk about that choke, went from dead heat to an 8 point lead just like that.
Or maybe Supremacy's just that gud.
