Just rolled out a couple of minor visual changes to ReclaimerHub: changed the Header font, increased font sizes across the board ever-so-slightly to improve legibility, and changed the newsfeed (homepage's big banner thing) fonts to do the same.

By Captain Friendo Go To PostMan it's gonna be annoying in a week or two when the other loremasters notice Kelly's shotgun fires promethean rounds but no one's observed my ramblingsThat has got to be some of the more expensive ammo the UNSC has ever paid to manufacture.

Just noticed something neat in the campaign b-roll: it looks like if the Musketeers take a "lethal" hit (one that kills them outright, not just downing them) they actually ragdoll, complete with a red X over their heads - then, following a "respawn" cooldown, they get on their feet into the downed position. I have to imagine that's to compensate in the event of them getting downed and knocked off a cliff, shot into space, etc.

I'm not one to complain about graphics, but the flag in CTF looked awful, almost looked like plastic rather than cloth. The snow on the Warzone map wasn't very nice to look at either, hope it'll end up looking better.

Good insight but let's not make "musketeers" a thing. It is such a cheesy name, it makes me cringe a little bit every time I hear/read it.

....So with the musketeers having unique gameplay attributes, albeit small ones, I was thinking about how Master Chief's luck could be integrated into gameplay. Perhaps he's targeted or spotted by enemies less, or maybe he finds more ammo in weapons dropped by enemies, could be a pretty cool opportunity.

Dude, he doesn't have luck anymore, remember? It was Librarian Batman gambits fueled by space jedi genesong tech this whole time! RIP musketeer variety

My sister just reminded me that 343 is releasing an LE console that has two LE controllers associated with it....for a game that has no local multiplayer.
For those interested, the b-roll footage of campaign has a direct download as well. http://news.xbox.com/media/?Keywords=halo&AssetType=b-roll
Edit: Halo on Xbox Daily now, you can roll back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mc6ehOPd98M
Contains gameplay from The Rig, which is set on a planet seen in campaign, it's not Europa like I was hoping. The map is asymmetrical as well, so that should alleviate fears about all arena maps being symmetrical.

Breakout confirmed to now have neutral flag objective; win a round by eliminating enemy team, or by pushing neutral flag to their base/spawn

The middle of the maps were already deathtraps IMO, with a Flag there it'll be even more dangerous. But it should promote more movement at least. I'm excited to try it
Blue team B-roll looks amazing
Also, you get an overshield when you pick someone up from being downed. Turns out that is a pretty helpful mechanic, so I've noticed, haha.

By dwells Go To PostSo it's instant arm neutral bomb elimination except with a flag model instead of a bomb model?
Yes, probably because Flags are much more visible to spot on the map and harder to sneak around with.
Halo CE had a Neutral Flag gametype you could set up like this. I used to play it some; it could be quite fun!
The addition of the flag to Breakout seems like a reaction to the eSports success Counter-Strike's main competitive mode where you win either by eliminating the entire enemy team or planting the bomb.
If this is obvious, I'll have to change my tag.

There were a number of very vocal people during/after the Beta asking for a neutral objective in Breakout, to provide more of a reason to break camp-outs late in rounds. So they said they were looking at options, and now have finally confirmed their decision.
I didn't think it was necessary personally, but i don't think it's a bad change per se.

Sounds good to me, nothing like knowing that one last guy could be capturing the flag while you're waiting to ambush him to make you change your strategy and force a round-ending conflict.
Overall I'm just really impressed with how many changes 343 has made from Halo 4 to improve the game. Someone should make a comprehensive list of Halo 4's problems and what Halo 5 has done in response to address them.
A video with The Rig gameplay alone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1SoHrMeg34
Holmes says it's a favorite of the pro team, it certainly looks interesting. Maybe post-release we will see it become Halo 5's "The Pit" in terms of popularity and likability.

Visually it's nothing special, I agree with you there. Where it stops being boring is its gameplay, which has several focal points (sword room, sniper tower) with a good amount of verticality (underground level around sword room, ground level, and the raised towers/structures scattered across it.

I posted this yesterday I think, but the Rig was actually in episode 5 of the Sprint. Really cool to see that map in the plain textures stage. All the maps are shaping up well in my opinion. I'm glad there is at least one asymmetrical map.... hopefully more, though!
I know nobody wants to ever look at or play on Abandon from Halo 4 again, but I think that map would work well in Halo 5's sandbox, if made slightly bigger.
edit: From the video, he doesn't mention Extraction returning :'(
Don't know HaloENT's opinions on ReadyUpLive, but here's is a brand-new video about Fathom that I enjoyed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYRHPrTZUtg
Some interesting facts he mentions that I wasn't aware of before, primarily that Fathom or some place like it will be visited during the singleplayer campaign. The guy narrating the video has visited the 343 office and played some of the game that has not been shown to the public so he can be trusted as a source for this sort of information.
Strongly disagree with you there. I see Breakout as a Counter-Strike-style competitive Halo gamemode, and Counter-Strike does not have the ability to revive your teammates if they go down. The whole point of Breakout is that you only get one life anyways so the importance of coordination, strategy and not making stupid mistakes is drastically increased.

Without a doubt. Pretty sure it's been confirmed previously but that is exactly what an incineration cannon looks like. Happy to see it returns, it's the definition of a power weapon.

Agreed.
Its basically just like round based swat currently. It would have a completely different feel with revives.
