By Ozzy Onya A2Z Go To PostIt's good fun on Heroic and just a pain in the ass on Legendary. Actually that probably sums up any Halo campaign for me. I truly hope there is far far far far far less bullet sponges and unequal damage/shield stats in H5 legendary. New console, new engine and hopefully not the the same old legendary cheap tricks. That's what I was trying to say - Halo on Heroic is the sweet spot. Any Halo. Legendary variers per title, but Legendary on H2 is absolutely nonsense lol. I mean- I want the challenge- but I also like to complain about something I'm willingly putting myself through lol.

Have we heard anything about the Spielberg Halo series? Is it releasing as a lead up to H5 like FuD did?

I truly hope there is far far far far far less bullet sponges and unequal damage/shield stats in H5 legendary. New console, new engine and hopefully not the the same old legendary cheap tricks. To be fair the enemies on Legendary isn't significantly harder to kill than Heroic, it is the damage and their synergy that become the problem, it doesn't help that CE and Halo 2 have some really shitty levels.
Actually I think ODST and 4 (to a lesser extent) did Legendary right, it is the hardest baseline difficulty that is aimed towards above average players that understand the game's mechanics and are willing to trial and error, while also manageable by a fairly large number of players, instead of unreasonably punishing and unfair at times (a lot of them!) like in 2 and some CE levels that almost requires the player to abuse mechanics and level design. It might feel easy for tryhards but there are always skulls.
I find Heroic to be pretty easy, but Legendary can be pretty unforgiving sometimes, it's a hard thing to balance, but I'm glad Legendary is actually hard.

Yeah, but even with the increased difficulty it's still fairly easy with a plasma pistol. The only time legendary l gets frustrating for me is when I get into vehicular warfare sections. Then it's almost a crapshoot.
I feel like Halo CE's legendary was the most balanced. The plasma pistol wasn't as good with its homing charged shot, but it's single shot semi auto was pretty powerful and useful.

The absolute imperative to break line of sight on Legendary is interesting, but I sometimes find the damage tuning a bit too harsh.
Best mode though, but I only ever play through Legendary once: the first time.
Heroic most often, Legendary minimum in co-op, happy to solo Legendary also - although some bits of each game usually make me rage.
By deltaunithink Go To Postso I'm almost done with Hunters in the dark, and i dont get all the hate for it it was pretty good thought i have been using Audible cuz im to busy to to sit and read so i listen to it while driving but it has been very interesting and entertainingNo hate here- there's just some things in the final act that I'm trying to figure out their purpose for. There's a mighty convenient plot point, and also something that, the more I've thought about it, the more it makes sense given 000 Tragic Solitude's "rampancy". Revisiting places that we saw in Halo 3 was cool. The Elites were great. Vale is a badass. There's a lot of good things in the book itself, but I'm wanting to see it's events within the context of what happens in Halo 5 as I think there could be some possible connections, Armigers aside.
By Fata1moose Go To PostI find Heroic to be pretty easy, but Legendary can be pretty unforgiving sometimes, it's a hard thing to balance, but I'm glad Legendary is actually hard.Oh I agree. I like the challenge. And when I said earlier that I'd rather have 500 QTE Didacts, it was was because of how obnoxious it was having to tip toe around the corner, up the ramp, let the doors open, get obliterated by the endlessly spawning grunts who chuck grenades with deadly accuracy, watch for the sword Elites, and then pick a moment to punch the prophet. The mechanics are fine, it's just the tuning that is incredibly unforgiving. But... I beat it. After i punched regret ten times it gave me a checkpoint. Then another. Then another. It was those first ten punches without a checkpoint that were sending me into a rage lol.
There was also a bit of bullshit that happened on the previous level as well when you walk into the cliff areas and there are sniper jackals everywhere. I was picking them off one by one then dropped down to take care of the elite and shield jackal below, and the game gave me a checkpoint... Literally a half second before the buggers spawn in and the elite charges where I was standing. Dead. Spawn. Dead. Spawn. Dead. Spawn. Dead. So I tried chucking nades. Dead. Tried to jump off the cliff to the side. Dead. Eventually figure out if I stepped backwards, turned around, sniped two buggers from the sky it gave me a window to drop below and grab the energy sword in the creek, and take cover behind some rocks where I could manage the enemies a little easier. I was about to toss my controller that checkpoint was at the worst possible time and the game wouldn't roll it back like it does sometimes if you keep dying lol.
By digmouse Go To PostTo be fair the enemies on Legendary isn't significantly harder to kill than Heroic, it is the damage and their synergy that become the problem, it doesn't help that CE and Halo 2 have some really shitty levels.I did ODST on Heroic but I'll eventually go back through on Legendary- I agree about 4 though. 4 does Legendary fantastically, as it's tuned really well to be very difficult, but only if you don't understand the enemy types and how they work on the field. There are still some unforgiving sections, but that's fine. It's supposed to be a challenge. But whereas Halo 4 demands that you understand the level and the enemies around the corner, and also steady aim or quick CQC play, Halo 2 and Halo CE demand that you break how the game was meant to be played any chance you get... Especially Halo 2. I've done some super cheesey crap to push the levels forward and avoid firefights haha.

Fuck Jackal Snipers on legendary, especially in H2. They have insane accuracy from a whipped 360 no scope body shot that instantly kills you. And they also take two body shots with a sniper to take down.

But then they have the ability to turn 180 degrees without animating that turn, and your shot goes whizzing by lol.
No lie I was scoping about looking for jackals at the one section, and I spotted one, and it wasn't looking at me and had its rifle at its side... And it shot me dead without looking at me or raising it's gun. The beam came right from the fucker. Lol.
I never use the plasma pistol in campaign except for maybe stunning vehicles. I think it's kinda cheap to just overcharge everything. Makes it too easy.
By Tha Robbertster Go To PostI never use the plasma pistol in campaign except for maybe stunning vehicles. I think it's kinda cheap to just overcharge everything. I'd rather use the needler, which seems to be in excellent supply in most levels haha.

By Wesleyshark Go To PostIt was stupidly fun for the first couple weeks- and then it became a chore as you realize that the loot you get for beating it is not worth the time and effort spent. Trials of Osiris has all of the good end game guns. Prison of Elders has jack-o.
Yeah, I'm at a point in Destiny where all I really care about are doing the Nightfalls and MAYBE Weeklies if needed. My recent busy schedule and a consistent train of blunders by Bungie (Taken King special edition, Luke Smith interview, Xur not selling weapon "glitch" this week) have suddenly turned me off of the game.
Ask my buddy and he'll tell you I abhor doing Prison at all and honestly ToO is a bit too intense for me to play consistently. All I really care about is the armor in that---some of the sexiest stuff in the game right now. But really all I play it anymore is socially and for fun with peeps, but I'm honestly contemplating coming back to MCC more regularly now if that's the only reason to play it.
Though Deddy I'm pretty sure you're in the same boat as me to beat hard Crota and Skolas to complete your Triumphs before Taken King. I'd still be down for that.
I'm definitely stoked for taken king. Already have it preordered. But right now... There's not much to do. I got a void Messenger and a void Scholar from Trials, and my characters have the armor and stat rolls I wanted, so there's not much for me to do anymore. Eventually, you get to the point where there's nothing left to try and get that is better than what you have. The grind isn't worth it once you reach that pinnacle.
Wait.. What's this about Xur not selling a weapon? Lol
Been playing MCC a lot this week. Feels good to be back in there, despite getting walloped in h2a legendary haha.

I don't now why, but I when I use the noob combo, I feel like I'm cheating the game. Seem thing with skiping encounters. I absolutely have to kill every enemy in an encounter. Some kind of OCD thing I guess haha.

Man, fuck those Riddler trophies, it took me less then 20 hours to finish the campaign, 11 more for all the sidequests (plus some freeroam) but after a week I have all but 14 trophies and I can't find them for the life of me. I've swooped everywhere looking for the green informers (they're gone), I looked up guides but I can't remember which ones I've gotten and which I haven't which makes the whole process annoying and I'm too lazy.
I finally caved and just watched the ending on YouTube and felt deflated....all the effort was not worth that.
It would of been fine if they had that after everything but the Riddler trophies, but getting all of the Riddler shit is just too....well it's just too much.

I'm really ready for TTK. Prison was alright the first few times, but at this point I feel just running strikes is more fun (and even better loot unless you go to Prison with a key). I still really enjoy doing the nightfall, especially when it has some crazy ass combination (this week was pretty tame, and easy).
I'm not going to do ToO because the pvp meta in destiny sucks right now. The new changes sound good, but by the time they hit Halo 5 will be right around the corner. I'm sure I'll still be doing PVE stuff in Destiny, but my pvp bag will likely be h5, and maybe a little destiny if their new objective mode is fun.

Being bound to a plasma pistol as your secondary through a bunch of the legendary campaigns is not my idea of good design.

Also he went on a tangent about Halo 5 and mentioned Mk. V was there, wonder if he then meant the animated series or Halo 5.
That's a great interview - glad to see him, once again, rationalize the differences in appearance of armors between mediums- technology advances, and so does fidelity in video game development.
Also- nanomachines are really exciting in the literal and theoretical tech world today. Can't imagine how advanced and wide-spread their use will be 20-30yrs from now, let alone centuries from now.
