Kampy doing 1v1s with H0lmb0m, pretty funny: http://www.twitch.tv/kampyvids
By derpface123 Go To PostI don't know if that Blue Ninja guy is here right now, but here's a question for him:
Without spoiling anything, were there any missions in Halo 5 that stood out as egregiously bad a la Assault on the Control Room (CE) or Cortana (Halo 3)? Just a "Yes" or "No" answer would suffice.
get out
By Impala26 Go To Post#Just343ThingsAgain, Nintendo never replaced Mario and sega... Well... Capcom never.... Nintendo never replaced Link.
#JustRagThings
Cortana is a far worse mission than Assault on the Control Room, but neither of them are enjoyable (except for the tank section of AotCR).
AotCR is a slog of the same rooms and bridges over and over and Cortana is a boring and frustrating Floodfest with anus doors.
This isn't 2001, this is 2015, and although I can forgive some things because it's a 14-year-old game, some things don't hold up well at all.

.
By Fahzgoolin Go To Post…the opinions…
…are disgusting.
Oh come now Faz, I'm in agreement here about AotCR really only being good because of the outdoor sections. Bungie literally added lights and illuminated arrows on the floor in the interior sections because of the repetitive labyrinthine design of those rooms.
It's a great level but it does drag on quite a bit long (for no real reason).

I know you didn't ask me, but I'll answer anyway.
No.
At least, not yet. I've played it 3 times so far and none of the missions have felt boring/repetitive/confusing. I mean some are obviously more fun then others, but I haven't come across anything that I'd put in the same category as AotCR or Cortana.

Thanks for the answer. Another question: was the final mission a highlight of the campaign for you?
By Ragnarok Flames Go To PostJosh, I don't like Locke's character. Try as you might to replace chief with him.
Cool story bro.
By SalientOne Go To PostCool story bro.
I don't think it's fair for anyone to pass judgment on Locke's character until they've played Halo 5's campaign through to the end to see him in action for an extended period of time.
But Rag gonna Rag, I guess.

Story: yes
Gameplay: no
Its quite a fun level, but nothing in it has me wanting to just play it over and over, that being said, there are missions I will play over and over again, just not the last level.

Two more questions if you're up for them, and then I'll stop.
1. Would you say the ending is better or worse than Halo 4's ending?
2. Do you know if you unlock anything for beating the campaign? REQ packs, armor sets, visor colors, etc.
You might not know the answer to the 2nd question until the 9 GB patch this week that enables the MP functionality, but if you know the answer now, I'd like to hear it.
By Wesleyshark Go To PostBut are there anus doors in Halo 5.
Sanghelios one-ups it with magical Prolapse Doors.

1. Its really hard to answer because Halo 4 was really emotional for me, and I can't really say anything about Halo 5 because of Spoilers. I will say that I prefer Halo 4's, but mainly because of the emotion that's connected to it.
2. No idea, we've only got Solo campaign until the patch, everything that's not part of the Solo campaign experience is greyed out at the moment.

Yeah, and that was an introduction. Halo 5 will almost certainly give us a better insight into Locke's character than Nightfall did (maybe one of the early access goblins can attest to this).
By Rokklaggio Go To Post"Prolapse Doors"Yeah, I'm not clicking on that.

Ever.
By Wesleyshark Go To PostI want that BR with the light rifle scope. Need it, actually.
If that's actually in the game... holy hell. That would be sweet. Now you've gotten me excited for Warzone!
By SalientOne Go To PostCool story bro.
So...what are you doing the night of the launch?
By Forerunner Go To PostAssault on the Control Room was entirely way too long. On the plus side you get to do it again later in the game!
Yep. The interiors leading to the chasm with the Control Room push it past enjoyment for me (also, I've always been intensely bothered by the fact that no matter how many Marines you manage to save up to that point, they will not under any circumstances follow you, and not so much as a line of dialogue is given to explain it.). Not to mention it's been literally probably a decade since I've actually attempted to descend the "right" way and go through those rooms plus ascending the ziggurat, and it still is a slog at that point.
I actually don't mind the principle of backtracking, because CE manages to justify it via the story, but there's just too much of it.
Then again, I've always felt that Delta Halo and Regret were each a bit too long, as well. I doubt I'll have similar feelings about any Halo 5 mission if only because they seem to have spent a lot of time peppering the missions with banter with your fire teams.
As for shorter missions—I'm fine with them. Was a small mercy that "High Charity" was the shortest Flood mission (even leisurely going through it it's certainly not 20 minutes long on anything but the toughest of difficulties).

Playing the game, of course! I'm going to try and rocket up the ranks in as many playlists as possible before everyone starts figuring out the game and taking me to town. Looking forward to being stuck at Diamond-1 forever when people start battering me (assuming I can even make it that high). :D

Lets boost, bruh. I'm sure Ram wouldn't mind backpacking again.
I do not get the appeal of boosting.
I mean, I get wanting a higher rank, but from there on out it's gotta be pretty miserable actually playing the game. Getting donged on isn't fun :P
Unless you're in a Madness-in-the-Beta situation, I guess.

Yeah, I'm not a fan. I'd rather rankings and the like be a reflection of me. Makes rising up the ranks more meaningful, and dropping ranks more of a wake up call.
By GringoSuave89 Go To PostYeah, I'm not a fan. I'd rather rankings and the like be a reflection of me. I feel like I got ranked a bit too high in the beta, Onyx in slayer and strongholds and Semipro in breakout. I eventually made it to semipro in slayer and strongholds, and pro in breakout but I would consistently run into players that were better than I was.

I was Silver 3 in Slayer and Silver 1 in Breakout. A bit high, but close enough. Dropped in Breakout hardcore haha
By GringoSuave89 Go To PostI was Silver 3 in Slayer and Silver 1 in Breakout. A bit high, but close enough. Dropped in Breakout hardcore hahaI always ran with a full team, or near full team which probably inflated my rankings quite a bit. You can be ok at halo but have good coordination and win matches against better players. I atleast want to find a ranking where I feel like I'm on equal terms with most players.
For anyone interested Faz and I are playing CE coop on legendary. We are almost done! Come check it out if you want something to watch.

Yeah, they should have just saved some cash and not even made Nightfall. Put those funds towards more hunt the truth instead.
