Theory Time!

So, the latest Issue of Canon Fodder is accompanied by a Universe article on the Sangheili. In that article, it says this about the Arbiter's faction, Swords of Sanghelios:

One of those groups is the Swords of Sanghelios, an ancient order restored by Arbiter Thel ‘Vadam, who seeks to unite his people and return the Sangheili to their ancient independence and nobility.

The bolded part really stuck out to me when I read it because this is the first we've heard about the Swords of Sanghelios existing long before the faction that we're familiar with. So I suspected that it'd be something related to content in Halo 5.

Thanks to NSA's awesome coverage of the lore panel at SDCC, we learn that Osiris does a bunch of missions for the Arbiter (Swords of Sanghelios) in Halo 5.

From Hunters in the Dark we learn that the Swords of Sanghelios' colors are red and ivory, which we can clearly see in H2A and Halo 5. Well, as I was combing through the gallery that Vin kindly posted, I noticed this image:


If you'll notice, the banner hanging off of the ancient stone structures is both red and ivory, and depicts an Energy Sword (Burn Blade; at least an early iteration of the sword). Makes me pretty confident to say that these ruins belong to the Swords of Sanghelios of old.

Or the banner was placed there because the SoS claimed that area.

Maybe we'll finally meet a female Elite. The she'll fall in love with Chief and there's this big love triangle between Chief, the Elite, and Kelly. Linda too I guess. Maybe Fred. Actually everybody is probably chasing the Chief.

Locke is actually trying to find Chief so he can warn him of the impending sea of emotions like a true bro.

Stinkles' comment in that locked thread got me thinking about the structure of the campaign this go around.

There's two main threads, one for Blue Team, and another for Osiris. And so far, it seems each group goes through each location and sees that particular "level" from their own point of view.

But I'm not so sure it's going to be like Halo 2 where you've got a couple levels with Chief, then a couple with Arby, and so on.

This time around, I think they're doing something new... You'll have the choice to play a level as either Osiris or Blue Team first, and then play through that level afterwards as the other team. Depending on which team you pick first, the second playthrough will be different.

Just a thought.

Interesting. In Canon Fodder, the new Warzone map is described as a composite of all the known Halo rings, and some locations on the map seem to be a cartographer and a library.

Pretty freaking excited by the stuff Frankie posted. The idea of different story options depending on stuff like which char. goes in first could be massively cool. Idea: unlock the option to pick who you play as as a kind of NG+

I've gotten back into SWTOR lately. Better than I remember.

I have this weird problem on mobile where bits of the background keep asserting themselves in the foreground as I scroll. Weird.

I'm currrently rocking Warher's blue theme, both on Chrome in Windows 8 on the computer, and on Firefox on my Galaxy Tab 3. Living in Las Vegas the blue is cooling to my eyes and the quotes have a grey background. Both this and Jem's are worthy and darkly pleasing.

PS My suggestion: Just post here...after several comments from moderators from...elsewhere...reflecting lazy and hateful attitudes towards posters and Halo...to me this means take your time elsewhere. Enjoying this thread and supporting this site and it's creators.

Yea I agree. That would suck to play every level twice. I agree maybe a level here and there or maybe a part of a level. Say Osiris took a different route then Blue Team and parts overlapped. Every level though would be overkill.

I thought Osiris was only hunting Blue team for a part of the campaign and then about halfway though, they catch up with each other and face a common enemy (most likely the Guardians?). If this is the case it wouldn't make sense to have the retread of the levels all the way through.

It'd be cool if for those missions where you're in a similar emviornment you could see stuff happening in the distance or clues in the immediate area that were caused by the other team. Or just being able to see locales far off in the distance and wish you could go there and then you do go there as the other team.
