It may feel like that after playing the MCC, but when 3 actually came out everybody got used to the aim acceleration shit and it was fine. The movement speed was really slow, but it was another thing most people got used to. I feel like MCC made people dislike Halo 3, but when it was actually released it was an amazing experience. The Xbox Live stats don't lie, multiplayer never got old.
My multiplayer stats don't lie either, I played a lot less Halo 3 than I did Halo 2. And even less with Reach, and I think maybe 20 games of Halo 4.

It's possible the only reason I played 3 more than 2 was because Halo 2 came at the end of OG Xbox's life whereas 3 came close to the beginning of the 360's. I still think it was my favorite game on the 360 though, and that's saying a lot. I'm right there with you with Reach and 4, although I stuck it out for 4 a bit longer because I forced some non-Halo friends to buy it. They liked it more than I did, who knew...
Edit: Also, I was in college for Halo 3. Parents couldn't do shit!
I remember playing a shit ton of 3 when it originally dropped (still not as much as 2) and enjoying it at the time. But as already mentioned, there's something about it in the MCC that makes me want to light myself on fire.

I thought Halo 2 was a piece of shit when I first played it and used to refer back to this video in my arguments, but now that I've gone through so many different versions of Halo I've come to enjoy them all in there own way (Except Halo 3, that game can go fuck itself.)
The point is, Halo is never going to be the way you remember it. If you like what you see from the next Halo then great, if not, then don't buy it. Halo will continue to live without you.

On the subject of the huge magnetism in H5, magnetism > sticky reticle. Halo 3's insanely overly sticky reticle is so frustrating when you are fighting two people with the BR and the reticle decides to hop over to the other guy just when he's one shot.
But everything about Halo 3's aiming is pretty much terrible so it's par for the course. H4 was way smoother, even if it was probably too easy to hit people with the precision weapons.

Not bad, although personally I wouldn't have been so harsh. People saying "Halo is obviously going to be outdated over time" don't know what they're talking about lol. It's probably the same people who thought Halo 2 was an improvement to CE and that Halo 3 was ever a good game who think classic Halo is outdated.

And there's been nothing to indicate that they weren't in the history of Halo. The entire suit is powered... Why not the visor also? Doesn't add or take away from literally anything.
