Are people just realizing now that no matter how new a Halo MP is in each release it's inevitable that it'll be outdated over time. The only real way of maintaining a constant player base with updating MP and changing the core is having a universal MP that's like Halo Online F2P. But having micro transactions isn't the way to go to purchase a weapon and dropping in withthat type of ssystem. Perhaps like having it like Warzone is a unique system to start out.
Any of you hot tamales care to play some Halo?

By Lord of Admirals Go To PostHalo 4 Kig-Yar aren't a subspecies.Yeah they are,kig-changeicus for the sake of changeicus-yar
I've definitely added Jazzygirl js.
Also I hope the boss fights in this game are interesting. Halo COULD have amazing boss fights but nope, not yet. I was hoping the didact boss fight would be him flinging stuff with his telekinesis and you having to dodge it, like that trash compactor mini game from halo 3. But nope. QTE.
Furthermore, I feel like it'd be awesome if in Halo 6 you could double melee as like a combo sort of. Second punch would be much slower, but more powerful.. That way it's not a cheese instakill that an opponent can't react to, but for two on one situations, it could work. I feel like the button combos in Halo 2 were an amazing unintentional addition, but they were glitches. So adding more stuff LIKE that, would be a welcome addition as it spices up the game and also increases the skill gap. (ground pound and spartan charge are a step in the right direction IMO)
Also wall jumping is a must. Preferably you can slide down walls like megaman x, but yeah.
We need news ASAP. :(

By Ragnarok Flames Go To PostYeah they are,kig-changeicus for the sake of changeicus-yarFuckin lol
By -Ryn Go To PostFuckin lolHey, I just got on. Where you at?
By kittens Go To PostWhat do you get from it? An added sense of immersion? Is that worth the drop in visibility, slower movement speed, and loss of accuracy when not ADS'd?
Or are you talking about smart scope? Cause that removes 80% of the problems with ADS and is cool with me.
I just always say ADS but I'm referring to smart scope as well. I like being able to aim down the sights of weapons in general. While the movement speed reduction in Destiny doesn't bother me at all, not having that in Halo will be just as fine. I'm good with either version, really. They're both fine.
accurately aiming at people without sacrifices to visbility, movement speed, and close-to-mid range targeting is just sooooo 90s. Its all about that immersive look, fuck the game design.

They aren't. They're the earliest in their evolutionary chain. The other two types are newer, hence their bird-like appearance versus reptilian.

Are black people a sub-species?
By -Ryn Go To PostNot sure if seriousI am.
Ibie’shan (Jackals) originated from the somewhat isolated volcanic island continent of Ibie’sh. As their homeland is not often visited by outsiders, the native communities have developed quite independently. The Kig-Yar who thrive there are believed to have changed the least of the entire species, carrying numerous trace characteristics of the earliest of their kind. These traits include large-toothed reptilian jaws, low-set serpentine eyes, and neck-biased quills that splay downward. While they are surprisingly reptilian, their key physiological traits, intellect, and their ability to effectively breed with other variants Kig-Yar prevent any serious effort at reclassification.
h4/5 jackels look just like short h4/5 elites. at least they fixed the grunts. the covenant are supposed to be different species, but in 4 they homogenized them all into one beige skined reptilian look except the hunters.

the kill feed is legit one of the best things they added. Fast, accurate, easily readable at a glance but mostly out of the way so you can ignore it if you want. .
By Ragnarok Flames Go To PostI have some sort of power, I can feel it in my balls.
Has 343 shown the spectator mode yet? I keep forgetting about it, but it seems like it will be really cool. Are games just broadcasted that you can select and view? Watch people on your friends list games? Any idea?

By Wesleyshark Go To PostDo jackals use ADS?
they love it. Its one of the reasons why they're evil.
By Wesleyshark Go To PostDo jackals use ADS?
Nope. Why do you think they can't hit the broadside of a barn? That's why. Just shows why ADS is superior.
By ViewtifulJC Go To Postthe kill feed is legit one of the best things they added. Just a little peeve, but I think it would help that much more to be able to see exactly what items in the feed you were involved in.

By -Ryn Go To PostYou really really wouldn't be much closer dude. Like, not at all close. I'll make a shitty comparison to better illustrate their differences when I get home but I just don't see how you think they are so similar. You would be quite a bit closer. Thin out the neck, fix the overbite, and enlarge the eyes and you've got a pretty good HD version of the CE model. Sure, the teeth aren't exactly the same, but that's just as subtle of a change as the teeth in Halo 2. Aside from the eyes, those changes are relatively subtle and wouldn't take all that much work. I would have loved for them to embrace the similarities even more so and made the Halo 4 model an actual HD version of the CE model, but at least it's closer than the rest of the series.
As for the lore, saying that they are different in the expanded lore doesn't mean you are treating them as a different species. It's the same problem we had with Halo 4's story telling for the Didact and well… most everything. The game can't rely on the player to know all of this stuff. In Halo 4 their differences aren't acknowledged whatsoever and they are still called Jackals. Something as simple as changing their name to the Volkackals or Jinkals or Mandrakes or even Reptal Probes. ANYTHING. They could've even been a new covenant enemy type to replace the Skirmishers which would've been nice considering all the missing factions.
They shouldn't be treated differently in gameplay. They are still Jackals, they just hold on to more of their ancient reptilian characteristics. As pointed out, they aren't technically a different subspecies, more like a different race. Their physical abilities are pretty similar, and their cognitive abilities are identical as far as we know. I'm not sure I understand why knowing the specifics of Jackal diversity would be a necessary part of the player's experience. Just like every other part of the lore, if they want to know more it's there. They're Jackals, that's all you really need. The lack of diversity within the game itself is due to resource constraints, plenty was cut from Halo 4 as it is, no need to introduce more unnecessary problems.

Not only is it highlighted, but you also have an arrow next to your name and your tag is yellow where as your teammates are all blue. It's really easy to read.
The negative reactions to Halo 5's bullet magnetism are pretty silly in my opinion. For Halo 5 they almost completely removed aim assist and increased bullet magnetism to compensate. If 343 hadn't increased bullet magnetism, the vast, vast majority of players would be infuriated by how hard it is to aim and hit things. I hardly even noticed the bullet magnetism in the videos I watched; only when you slow it down and focus on that one specific shot where the crosshair was a bit off the guy is it obvious. I don't think people will notice it while they're playing. If these people want to play a first-person shooter with no aim assist or bullet magnetism, they should play Counter-Strike, not Halo. For all the competitions and prize pools it's still a console shooter and console shooters need to have a certain level of aim assist, bullet magnetism or both in order for them not to be annoying to play with a controller.
I know bullet magnetism is important for console shooters but I wish they would at least tone it down a tad.
By -Ryn Go To PostGod damn. Why did you remind me of that one man...like Sev all over again.

imagine if they had high aim assist, high bullet magnetism, and ADS that slows your movement, hinders your view, makes hipfire more inaccurate, on top of people spawning with crazy variety of weapons/shotguns/heavy weapons, with random player abilities/supers just to make it more frustrating.
And its 30fps and the netcode kinda ass
man that game's PVP would be ass, if that game existed

I thought Halo 2 was a piece of shit when I first played it and used to refer back to this video in my arguments, but now that I've gone through so many different versions of Halo I've come to enjoy them all in there own way (Except Halo 3, that game can go fuck itself.)
The point is, Halo is never going to be the way you remember it. If you like what you see from the next Halo then great, if not, then don't buy it. Halo will continue to live without you.

aim assist is the devil. theirs nothing worse then lining up that perfect shot then having your reticle dragged away by another target that moves by.
halo 3 would be okay if the aiming wasn't so weirdly accelerated. i can't even play h3 because of how effed the aiming is.

Halo 3 would be ok if it wasn't like a bad version of Halo 2's MP. Aiming feels garbage, you walk at grandma speeds, most of the maps aint shit. You play it and you just want to die.

Whoa hold up. I'm not with this guy. He's on his own with this. Halo 3 was beyond amazing.
Halo 3's weapon sandbox is a dumpster fire, and there's a lot of really annoying maps.
It has its moments, but I've become one of the "H4 wins vote over H3" converts in MCC

h3 mp might not be as good as 2 due to random br spread/equipment and low movement speed but its infinitely better then 4 and reach. and the best campaign imo thanks to its more open levels
