I have a hunch they will. They have mentioned that they realize how important and popular customs are. They said they are even giving us options to remove spartan abilities like sprint.

Would there be interest in an on-foot race mode? You would start with a pistol that has no ammo, and you have to sprint and clamber and thrust and slide your way through an obstacle course faster than your opponents. Somehow damage would have to be disabled though, since I wouldn't want people to be meleeing, charging, and assassinating each other. I know I will be able to disable charging and ground pounding but disabling melee is a whole other story.

The maps for this mode would be custom designed of course, although I'm sure it would still be fun to have running races around The Rig, Coliseum, etc. Could be good practice for those clamber jumps as well.

Also the mode would be called "Marathon".

Invulnerability is usually an option.

They've already put in toggles for the SAs in customs. Not that that means anything for hit markers, but there's room.

I don't know if it's typical, but we've been playing every night this week since saturday night. Sometimes twice a night apparently according to last night. Customs, matchmaking, all sorts of shenanigans to be had. Haven't had this much fun playing custom games since Halo 3.

It's a lot better when all the bad stuff is taken out.

Or wait, do you mean campaign? I liked that better too, but man did parts of it suck. I played it on Legendary for the first time last week and I got so sick of the environments that were nothing but Forerunner architecture, and pretty much all of Reclaimer was terrible (on Legendary at least). And the Knights are just no fun to fight. Also man, I still hate how the Light Rifle feels. There's that slight sense of delay between pulling the trigger and it firing, and it just feels so sluggish and unsatisfying.

I really loved some parts of it, though. I feel like 343 makes action feel really punchy, satisfying, and visceral. There's a million things that go into that in my mind: the weight and moment they gave Chief's movement, the speed and "oomph" of the melee, the way most of the guns feel, the A/V effects when enemies are killed, etc. etc. It gives the whole game a certain layer of intensity that the other titles lack, though the other games do a lot of other things better.

So yeah, those are my most recent half baked thoughts. :)
