By PsychoRaven Go To PostUm didn't we just have a whole book dealing with a Spartan 2 and a washed out one both dealing with finding out the truth and then most of the book everyone Wanted Halsey dead for it? I would say that not all Spartan 2's are accepting of what they've become like they say at the beginning of this thing.
Yeah something about the whole vidoc rubbed me the wrong way, the gameplay and music looked and sounded fantastic but there was a lot of arrogance, or something else I can't quite put my finger on, that emanated from some of the employees chosen to speak.

Yea I would have liked a bit of humility from them. Halo 4 was good campaign wise but it had problems. Multiplayer wise it was not fun for the most part. Nowhere in this vidoc did we see them going yea we made some mistakes. Instead it was a lot of oh well we were so awesome with Halo 4. How can we be more awesome with Halo 5?
That said I do think Halo 5 will be a step back in the right direction. I'm not a fan of AI fighting with you all the time but I'm willing to give it a chance and did enjoy Reach which had AI fighting with you a lot of the time . Story wise it looks interesting as hell.
Tim Longo mentions that "he heard the stories" (horror stories) in regards to Halo 4's development alongside studio building. I don't think they were trying to come off as pompous, it was more or less "hey look, conditions under which halo 4 were developed were less than ideal and we still ended up with a pretty solid product. With that said, we have to do better with Halo 5." That's how I saw it.
I saw Brutes and Buck was holding a bright white pistol at one point.
New forklift like mongoose as well.

I'd say I'm willing to give 343 another shot with Halo 5 more so than I'd say I'm looking forward towards Halo 5.
The campaign, seeing the story explored from two different perspectives and the "new school versus old school" vibe of Osiris versus Blue team will definitely be something I'm excited to see develop within the campaign. However, I didn't like that they lumped all Spartans into the category of accepting their duty to be mindless killing machines. Seemed a bit of a stretch to me, I'd like to see some Spartans more humanized.

Maybe. Either way I think we can all agree. Halo 5 can't come soon enough and it looks to be a step back in the right direction over all.

Really? I got the opposite vibe from the video, they kept talking about how they were a group of devs who had never worked together and so it was a new experience for them and that's why Halo 4 wasn't as good as it could of been

Hear, hear!
That was pretty damn cool. Was a bit meh at the beginning but it got better as it progressed and then that last tease... DAT music...

Sounded very "This is how I think they should be". Perhaps I'm projecting my own idea of what they are though...

Some of the art design they showed was incredible.
I love that rocky stuff they were showing with the arches. It looks gorgeous.

Yea. I liked Halo 2 and how they jumped back and forth. so I'm cool with that in this game between the 2 teams. The only thing I didn't like about it with Halo 2 was it ending on Arbiter and not Chief and then it left us thinking there would be another level when there wasn't. Hopefully 343 has learned from Bungie's mistake and doesn't repeat that mistake with this game. If they don't pull a Bungie and the game ends focused on Chief and not with a cliffhanger they should be fine.

I agree, if you're going to have a cliffhanger, you should finish on it.
The last line of dialogue from H2 should have been "Sir, finishing this fight".

Yea 343 does a great job with world building. That was the strong suit in Halo 4. I can't think of a level in it that I hated looking at. All of them were interesting. I just didn't like how some were pretty linear. That luckily seems to be fixed with this game.
So there were a few small details I saw but gonna sleep on them, but couldn't go without pointing this out, is this how the 4th Spartan will get around on the 3 person Warthog?

What? He just locked his armor in place. Easier then finding a chair.

That would be Buck.
By Forerunner Go To PostSince there's a 5-7 can we have a tec-9?Every game becomes 100% better with the addition of Rekt-9
By link1201 Go To PostI am getting really curious about the amount of weapon variants in this game. Why? We already know that warzone has tons of different weapon variants. ARs with bayonets, DMRs with BR scops, SMGs with silencers/ extended barrels for improved accuracy. But all of this is in Warzone/maybe campaign. none of it will be in our precious Arena.
By Granadier Go To PostI heard MC say "Cortona". Was he talking to his new Windows Phone 10™, or is she coming back?
Some of the gameplay snippets look nice. The lighting and environments definitely give off a nice Halo vibe--especially that desert csnyon area.
Halo 3 had Chief experience a weird vision of Cortana floating in front of him (was very cheezy), so I'm sure Chief is just seeing her in emotional desperation or something.

By Granadier Go To PostI heard MC say "Cortona". Was he talking to his new Windows Phone 10™, or is she coming back? You mean Windows 10 Mobile....and yeah, she's back. Not sure what way, could be a vision or some other way, but she appears about halfway through the first Chief mission and is obviously the reason Chief goes AWOL, she says something about Meridian being in danger and the Reclamation beginning…also something about the Domain opening. It's all in the Game Informer cover article.

It's her "ghost". So I'm thinking it's kind of going to be like Cortana from H3, with all the flashbacks and stuff.

Can't be her ghost, she says that a planet called Meridian is under attack and some other stuff. She wouldn't be able to know this if she was just a ghost, my theory is that a part of her was kept safe in the Domain (or possibly a back up by the Librarian AI on Requiem) or something and now she is reaching out to Chief to warn him.

Honestly, I don't really want to see her come back, makes the ending of H4 pointless. I mean characters die off; Johnson, Keyes (both), and etc. Cortana should be no different.
I felt like the opening of the ViDoc talking about Spartan IIs "solemnly accepting" their fate was more addressing Blue Team directly, rather than trying to assert that all of them were OK with being abducted.
Enjoyed the VIDoc; great way to start a Friday work day.

Blue Team has solemnly accepted it. Others, like Naomi, have had a tougher time with it all.
