Interesting that the Guardian is coloured with blue accents rather than the Promethean red…

I really like the scale of the thing. Has anything been said much about the design shift from what we saw in the original H5G teaser and subsequent imagery in the H2A cutscene background? The head lacks any resemblance of recognizable eyes (that I can see), and also lacks the tentacles that it first sported.
Just find it all interesting.

Agreed that a terrain editor on consoles would be way, way too fiddly. But if we had a PC app… nothing better.

And dayum, that does look cool. I presume the Guardians are blue instead of orange because they're not Promethean constructs or under the Didact's control.

I don't think precision would be too large of an issue.

I was imagining a system where you have a cursor for placing vertices which would effectively be treated as a very small object. The controls would be exactly the same as when manipulating objects except you place vertices rather than releasing the object. The forge controls are very easy to use and can be very precise with precision mode.

There could also be a system where you could switch to a grid snap mode for very basic shapes.

Nice tidbit on Plaza, one of the new(er) arena maps. I do like the look of that one. The greenery (well, orangery) is a nice touch, sets it apart a little bit from the other human maps we've seen thus far.

Never has a screenshot made me more hyped than that one of Raid on Apex 7. I've missed trees and vegetation and nonhuman architecture 😭😭😭

A lot of jagged edges in that screen shot of Apex. The environments don't look as good as the player models. They look pasted together from two different games.

That is an old screenshot. Notice the green UI is placeholder and outdated compared to the one shown at E3, Gamescom and PAX.

This transparent black UI is also in line with the leak of the menus we saw from the very recent VMC closed beta test.

That picture of Raid on Apex is the most monumentally ugly screenshot we've ever seen of Halo 5. It looks out of place because it's super old and not at all representative of the final map.

Sometimes I wonder why game developers are hesitant to show their game before it's totally finished because I think, "it should be obvious that it's work in progress, what kind of goober would judge a game on its graphics before they were final?"

Then I see people like you and the other guy complaining about graphics in a screenshot from a super old version of Warzone/the Apex map.

It's better to show a game and have the visuals improve, than it is to knock peoples socks off with visuals and have to downgrade them.

It's this clique that we've built up over years of playing a really fun game together, and as far as I remember, while we're not exclusive, no one asked for some sarcastic kid to come in here and call us out and make his opinion law. Honestly, it's exhausting to see how much fighting there is in here because people have differing opinions on shit.

Nothing, NOT ONE THING about updates or fixes for the MCC. However...

What if...they are completely overhauling that terrible unified UI, adding back in after-match lobbies, adjustable music levels, joinable custom games, and sprucing up the many bugs and glitches and weapon imbalances? And, what if it's a massive overhaul/update that does something very substantial to fixing the games much closer to being a "remaster" that's actually better than "just as you remember it"? And it's tied in with the overhaul the entire UI the Xbone is due for this fall/winter?

And, that is what is taking so long, and why they have been so very silent for so long?

I'm sure there are multiple angles to all of this. However, almost every artistic genius "breaks" so to speak when there is unnecessary and untactful corporate pressure and control.

I don't like Activision and their decisions so I'll take Marty's "side" in all of this. It's probably ignorant to do so, but it gives me a reason to not spend money and time on Destiny ;) lol

After spending a lot of time playing various other shooters (CSGO, Gears, etc) I have realized that Halo is still the best shooter out there.

The guns, the feedback, the shield system, the grenade throws/bounces, the longer time-to-kill, the movement, the map control, the power weapons, the power ups... It's all just a lot of fun and each match seems to provide a more unique experience than other shooters out there.

Halo 5 can't come soon enough. I just really hope it isn't plagued with things that need immediate patching. I want a smooth experience out of the box. Not even Gears UE provided that--it's kind of a mess right now online.

Once you start to appreciate and understand what Halo is, there's nothing better. It has a finesse that a lot of shooters are missing.

The map was originally called "Return to Installation 04," so it's probably Alpha Halo.

Not that we won't be seeing a Halo in the campaign, I'm quite sure that Installation 03 will be there (also really confident that we'll be visiting the Ark, the two are kind of connected since 03 is most likely at the Ark).

I'm not trying to make my opinion law. But most of the blog posts on Halo Waypoint talking about the development of the game include screenshots from way back in development, and we have seen countless Warzone videos where the UI looks cleaner and more polished than whatever that green nonsense in the Apex screenshot is.

More sarcasm, I know, but that's how silly it sounds to me when people act like that pic of Apex is anywhere near representative of how the map will look in the retail game, especially when it has a completely different UI to the one we've seen in the dozens of Warzone videos that have been put on YouTube in the past few months.

Maybe one day SLAENT will make it so you can designate who can and can't post in your threads, and when that day comes, you can add the members of your clique to that, and exclude me. I was excited to come here because I've been waiting ages for my GAF account to be approved and this site doesn't make you wait months just to be able to talk to people about the stuff you like.

I probably don't know more about Halo than you, and I don't aspire to, but I don't need to to be able to connect some dots from the various videos we've seen and realize that the ugly UI and roughness of that image, coupled with the fact that it's inside a blog post about the development of Warzone, is almost confirmation that this is a very old screenshot of the map.

I have nothing against you, or anyone else here. Not even Rag. I was just trying to explain why I thought it was so obviously silly to criticize the image. Sorry I pissed you off.
