By YourExWife Go To PostSo, I'm playing through Spartan Strike. Huge improvement in encounter design and gameplay over Spartan Assault.I have not played a tons of it on my phone. I wish it would get a console release tho. Btw. do you want to play Spartan Assault anytime soon? I need those co-op chievos, MyFutureWife.
But based on this, I need the have the Kestrel in Halo 5 and have it be a wrecking machine of doom like in SS.
Sure man. Hit me up when I'm on. Not sure what your schedule's like over there. I have it on 360 and XB1 so whenever.

That said this guy is Evil Geniuses' Coach, he's pretty good at Halo. I think the pistol is just hard to use.
The caster is also apparently fairly difficult to use according to Josh Holmes on Beyond. Apparently the pro team thinks it's one of the most powerful weapons in H5.
Yeah, offensively it is, the caster is tricky but satisfying.
But I'm talking about logically and defensively in regards to the fathom the level, that beauty can be used to trap people, and block pathways.
But I guess that's pretty hard when you have randoms to communicate with.

His last two Fathom videos we're his worst, but he's a very good player so he was still getting into the groove of things (thats why he saved it till now).
Unyshek is an amazing Halo player, and his beta videos were really good. Everyone has their bad games. I'm just happy there are some post-beta gameplay with all the new changes, with some good gameplay (better than gamespot/IGN).

I hope Halo is IGNs story this month. I am anxious to hear more about the ranking system and stat tracking system.

That post was sarcasm. And that post is really in line with how 343 makes decisions.
No population counter: we don't want the niche playlists to feel bad. So we are removing pop. Counters.
We added a magnum to the flag: so the carrier wouldn't feel useless, doing the objective.

By derpface123 Go To Postmuh flagnumDoesn't need to be there. Grabbing the flag should be a ri... Not even going to start this. It was beaten to death by competitive players before and when Halo 4 came out
Suffice to say its not needed.
By Ragnarok Flames Go To PostThat post was sarcasm. And that post is really in line with how 343 makes decisions.Well that's hardly true considering they're thinking of making everything ranked.
And flagnum wasn't the problem with 4's CTF, auto pickup, no dropping and waypoint on flag carrier were the problems.
I don't really care about whether or not we have the magnum while holding the flag. In fact, I think it could be even less necessary since you can now use thrusters while you have the flag.
As long as you can still 1-hit-melee-kill with the flag, it's all good in my book. Gotta punish those dumb enough to get that close to you.

Let's all criticize people playing a game that's not even out yet whose only experience with the game was a few weeks during January (8 months ago) and a few games per event (E3, Gamescom, PAX Prime) where those events are months apart, also making sure not to forget that these "pro gamers" are used to games with much higher levels of aim assist than Halo 5 has.
Tbh it's absurd to me that pro gaming even exists for aim-assist heavy console shooters like previous Halos and the Call of Duty series. If Treyarch really wanted to make CoD genuinely competitive they'd remove aim assist and make their primary platform PC.

Dear Frankie/343:
According to Josh Holmes, there will be new gameplay coming up of the pro team playing on the Halo 5 Arena maps. I think everyone excited for Halo 5 is happy to hear this, but I would hate to see this opportunity wasted on maps we've already seen enough of.
There are 14 Arena maps in the game. We have seen Truth, Regret, Empire, Eden, Fathom, Coliseum, Plaza, and The Rig. I'm not sure if the Forge maps from the beta (Pegasus and Orion) made the cut for these final 14, so I won't include them here. Discounting the aforementioned Forge maps, there are 6 Arena maps that you have yet to reveal to us.
We have seen plenty of gameplay on Truth, Regret, Empire, Eden, and Fathom, so unless major changes either in their visuals or their gameplay happen to those maps that you want us to see, we really don't need any more gameplay videos of those maps. We have seen Coliseum but only in Spectator view and for a short while in the Gamescom B-Roll, so we could use some more gameplay of that, but I think we're all more excited to see gameplay of maps we've seen even less of, such as The Rig, Plaza, or of course any of the 6 remaining unrevealed Arena maps.
We would all appreciate it if we could see the pro team playing on maps that we haven't seen too much of before, as opposed to seeing yet another Fathom gameplay.

It would be nice if those 6 maps weren't white, human, industrial maps as well
Not that it's a bad style, it's just that some more variety would be nice.

Listening to this part of the soundtrack, I can just imagine... it's the beginning of the game, the Chief is all alone, slowly making his way through a dark mountainous area and coming up to stand just before a cliff drops off below him, looking out into the distance wondering where the rest of Blue Team is.
More excited for Halo 5's campaign than I've been for a campaign in any game ever. Two teams, a story with so much potential. I sure hope 343 delivers.

This is precisely why I'm not getting the game. I wouldn't be able to get past the first mission after beating the tutorial.

No, it just irks me when people backseat game others for not being amazing at a game that they've had an extremely limited time to play and thus are not totally accustomed to. Practice makes perfect and even people who are pros at previous Halo games haven't had enough practice with Halo 5 (excluding those specific pro members who work at 343 on their pro team).

HaloENT, despite having only played a build of the game that is super outdated at this point over a half a year ago, are clearly experts at Halo 5 and are in the position to be telling pro players and their coaches that they suck at the game and are doing everything wrong.

Ah damn that's exactly why I wanted to play this. It's actually the first metal gear I've legitimately played. I bought the 360 collection, played mgs2 for like 10 minutes, raged at the controls, then returned it haha.
I can see why someone who doesn't like stealth wouldn't like this though. It supports stealth and guns blazing, but it definitely rewards you more for being sneaky. And it's a hell of a lot easier to sneak through everything.

why you were so excited for MGS V when you hadn't even played the previous games.

Best pun so far in this thread. You forgot the 🎺 tho.
I've always wanted to like mgs. I just never had a console or handheld that supported the titles when they were originally out. And when the collection for 360 was announced I was stoked to finally play them. I had read up on the lore and the chaotic story and was really into the sci-fi craziness of Kojima... But those games did not age well and it was too much of a barrier for me to enjoy them.
I'd been following mgs v since they first crypticly announced it as The Phantom Pain only, and as more was shown off the more it became apparent that this would be the game I could finally jump in. And so far... It's absolutely fantastic.
Off-topic: Anyone else excited for the new Hitman? It comes out this December. Looks like the Blood Money-style Hitman game we wanted Absolution to be.
