Yeah, I was able to push it back in but only partially. He's not going to be holding his Assault Rifle any time soon. Fingers crossed Fred has no joint problems like this guy does.
By FUNKNOWN iXi Go To PostBan Wesley. He's far worse than jem1.0 and Ragnarok.
Yup, imagine if we received Combat Evolved 2 instead of the disaster that was Halo 2 pre-patch, questionable design decisions in general even post patch, and that inevitably led to the sluggish, inconsistent snoozefest that is Halo 3? Ayyy remember that melee system Bungie thought was a good idea when Halo 3 launched? Remember how Bungie backed out of this franchise and left us with Armor Lock, Jet Packs and Camo AA's as a big F YOU <3 to all their wonderful fans?
Have you experienced that crisp, POWERFUL gameplay you see people enjoying with CE in TMCC? Now imagine if that was the base for Halo after CE and not what Halo 2 was. Imagine what Halo could be right now if Bungie didn't Bungie. Just imagine, db. Imagine.
Fucking CE. I mean, its better than Halo 3 when it works properly... maybe.

Sure you can say it borrows a lot, but to say it plays the same is just factually incorrect. Have friends who play BF/COD religiously, Halo 4 is almost a completely different game for them.

Depending on the host, its either pretty alright besides other usual CE complaints (spawns, etc), or a complete shit show with a bad host of like 10+ second delays on everything.
I've had fun games of CE. Halo 3 is always shit though.

So here's my thoughts, and I'm sure to get blasted for it, but hey, what's the harm.
I've got H5G preordered. I'm proud of the preordering. Why, you ask? Why not wait to see how the game performs, you say? Well I'm glad you asked. It's because I love Halo. I find the story fantastic, the characters intriguing, and the gameplay a blast. For me, the question isn't "why preordering?", but rather " why not preorder?". Say I buy the game, and a repeat of the MCC happens (which is why I assume most are keeping from preordering). I'll still have great Halo gameplay and great Halo lore to ingest. Me holding off on buying it does nothing more than postpone those pleasures for me. I'd imagine that most of you, even if H5G is buggy, will eventually buy it (some will even succumb and buy it in its bugginess before it would be fixed). So what does delaying get you? Does it get you your Halo fix any amount sooner? Quite the contrary. Does it make the statement I'd imagine you're hoping it would? I'd imagine that if you knowingly are going to buy it anyway, then delaying will do more harm (first day sales statistics being less, etc.) than good. Now I know some people only play Halo for the MP, and that's fine; they're not who I'm targeting with this. I know there are those who are this close to giving up on 343i and Halo entirely because of some past issues, and while I can't empathize, I can't actually blame them either; different people require and demand different things out of game series. No, I'm specifically referencing those who care enough for the Halo story and characters that they will inevitably pick this game up regardless of its technical perfection/errors. Unless you're going to wait long enough that the game will drop in price, you'll probably pay the same price as day-one brand new. The only difference would be that you didn't get to immerse yourself in the continued lore and find enjoyment therein as soon as you otherwise would want.
I'm not saying this to get people to preorder or to necessarily feel bad if they don't or even if they don't buy it day-one. I've just seen several remarks hinting to how foolish it is to preorder the game. I just don't see how it could be foolish in the least. I enjoy the series, I'll be buying the game regardless, and so therefore I'm going to ensure I'll get my hands on it ASAP with the added bonus of already having it paid for when I go to get it. I think there are several people who are fooling themselves if they think delaying half a day to a couple of days is going to be making any sort of beneficial statement they're hoping it will, and in the process they're missing out on Halo for that allotted time.
So again I say, the question for me isn't why I'm preordering.
The question is why wouldn't I preorder.

By FUNKNOWN iXi Go To Post343 commented on the 14 day thing? I can't recall exactly how it went down, but I thought it was just Microsoft PR that spun it and 343 remained silent.
There originally was communication that it was a mistake/error, then after that came the ignorant PR move that said it was planned all along, after already admitting it was a fuck up. I would have had zero problems with it if they just stuck with the "oops our bad" from the get go. But they went along with the 14 day BS anyway and everyone at MS/343 and in the press pretended it was always that way. It was so awkward to watch.

Only reason mine is pre-ordered is because it allowed me to save like $20 on the purchase.
I'm curious what some people think should have been added to the base gameplay beyond walking, jumping and shooting after Halo 2 if:
not equipment.
not armor abilities.
not loadouts.
not assassinations.
not sprinting.
not clamber.
not thrusting.
not ground pounding.

Yep, your money is your money. Do what you want with it.
There should have been a means of dodging. Halo being absent that has always been puzzling. A bunch of equipment/aas/etc should have been pickups. Loadouts can take a hike.

By derpface123 Go To Post343 have made a lot of mistakes in the past. I'm looking forward to Halo 5 and I'm for sure on the hype train but that doesn't mean that I or anyone else should preorder the game. Just wait until mid-day October 27th, read reviews from sources you trust, and most importantly look on Halo forums throughout the day to see if the game is working as intended. If it is, great! Buy the game and enjoy. If it's fucked up like MCC though… then wait and see if it gets fixed quickly. If it doesn't get fixed quickly, it's probably seriously broken and you shouldn't give them your money. Also Halo is basically dead if Halo 5 is broken at launch. This is the latest post that kinda sparked my thoughts. Again, I understand different people are at different levels of Halo fandom for differing reasons, I just don't see telling everyone to wait and not to preorder is really something that should be done.

I'm not gonna wait a whole week to play the game, broski. We're talking buying the game when I get home in the afternoon versus pre-loading it a few days in advance so I can play it as soon as I get home that day. The only difference in time is however long it takes to download and install the digital version.
If I pre-load, then I can play it as soon as I get home that day. If I don't pre-load, when I get home I will read reviews of the game and look on various Halo forums (including this thread) to see if the game has major issues. If it doesn't, I'll buy the game. If it does, I'll wait for a patch.
Best way to take out a boss in mgs v? Air drop an ammo supply right on their head. Not sure if that was an intended option or straight cheese... But that's what I just did lol.

Halo 5 reviews should be out a few days before release.
If they embargo it until release date, Imo it means their unconfident about their product.

Halo 5 is shaping to be the best Halo in a long time.
But I still have a huge problem with their (343) image, They as a corporation lack transparency and they appear to be not very humble.
It's certainly something they need to work on. Which is strange, because they have the nicest people on earth working for them, apart from 'that' Scottish guy.

People are talking about 343's new designs of the enemies (specifically Jackals) for the Halo games they make. Here's what I think.
I'm glad 343 decided to make their own designs for Elites and Jackals and all the other enemies. When I first played Halo 4, the new designs helped solidify that feeling that "yes, this is a start of a new era in the Halo franchise. the game plays differently, looks differently, and is heading in an entirely new direction."
If 343 just tried to copy point-for-point Bungie's designs, any inconsistencies between Bungie's originals and their copies would be glaring to us.
Their new designs look good and are fitting when you consider what's happening in the game's story, especially the Elites who have less armor in certain places like their arms. The Covenant isn't the same as it used to be, and their leadership is thinning. It's probably gotten harder for them to acquire full, state-of-the-art armor sets as a result.

By J-Twelve Go To PostI'm curious what some people think should have been added to the base gameplay beyond walking, jumping and shooting after Halo 2 if:The most important thing is what you first described: the walking, jumping and shooting. I've always been about the gameplay, and if the gameplay is fun then it will hold up well to the test of time. For example, Halo 3 gameplay (the walking, jumping and shooting) in 2015 is not the most ideal, to say the least.

So, what then? What should have come next?
So I think it's less about what they add, but more how they implement it. Armor Abilities could have been Power-ups or part of the weapon sandbox. Ever played Perfect Dark Zero and used the CMP-150? Its secondary function is a hologram that displays next to the player. Promethean Vision could have been a cool Power-up. Camo was a cool Power-up before they turned it into an AA lol
hey people, please watch our videos about that one game we used to play: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBXVAp0cPDM
If they wanted to make a game that played differently with different enemies then why make a Halo game.
Fuck the jackal redesign. It's literally the one thing I hate the most besides ADS (which sheep enjoy) and sprint.

How does everyone feel about silent or near silent protags in Halo? Like The Rookie (even to some extent Chief in Halo CE and noble 6). I don't think it matches the main line halo games, but with this annual/bi-annual halo schedule returning, I hope to see something similar to Reach or ODST (perhaps a Spartan IV recon game?).
My only issue is the mandibles, they should be closer together. And that they aren't as hunched over as the should be.

Halo2: an extension of that.

I've played every single mainline Halo on legendary so you can Stfu about that already.
Replaying ODST reminds me how much I enjoy the mood set, and that is only enhanced by the silence of Rookie. If they ever attempt another moody Halo game (a new Halo recon with Spartan 4s), they should stick to the silent protag seen in ODST.
Anyone else want to see the Mark V(B) helmet in Halo 5?
They already have the Mark V(B) body armor in the game, it's just called NOBLE. But the NOBLE helmet is Carter's helmet. I think it would be cool if you automatically unlocked Mark V(B) in Halo 5 if your gamertag has gotten any achievement in Halo: Reach.

By jem Go To PostThe new jackals look so much better than the old ones.Agreed.
I think both jackals designs look really cool. Bungie's designs look more bird-like, whereas the new ones look less like birds and more like raptors/dinosaurs. Both have their merits, I think it's just personal preference.
