I can't check it because I'm at work right now, but it is surround sound and I really pick up a lot of rich sounding lows from this neadset. It nice because my currnt tv hooked up has terrible sound, and I can mute it and just use the headset. I can post specs later.
I did google a bit and found a review, I concur with everything this reviewer said, but without having to call PDP tech support:

But is that information actually useful? The time it takes to pick up a weapon is extremely short. Almost instantaneous really. So what purpose does a "time to pick up" meter serve other than just visual fluff? This is of course assuming they don't have other items in the game with varying pick up times.

Anyway, welcome to the party of excellent sound. Once you get a headset, you can REALLY begin to appreciate the amount of effort game designers put into the sound design.
Just wait until you hear Halo 5 with your headphones. I've got the Astro A50's. 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound. Halo 5 has the most incredible and jaw dropping sound design I've ever experienced. The only game to rival it so far has been MGSV.

Adding actual punishments to a thing that measures how many idiots don't like to lose, especially one that gamers already know is USELESS in its 360 implementation, and you have the most obvious recipe for a fucking joke of a failure.

Part of the problem with the system is the lack of positive rep, you can't commend people for playing well or not quitting when their entire team left. Rep should be on a game by game basis anyway, that way they could actually tell if you quit early, etc. The system ride approach is fundamentally flawed.
