By FollowTheWind Go To PostWhy the fuck would I look up something which I assumed I was right about? But getting cunt replies from dick heads like you doesn't help. I thought weapons didn't show up on the backs of spartans and I was wrong, do you want to fuck off????
My God your life must be so sad that you get this hostile over someone remembering spartans didn't have weapons on their backs.
Oh no, angry words! I sure do feel bad now.*
Why would you make a claim about something you are apparently barely familiar with before double-checking it, to people who are basically experts on that thing? I can only assume you want to look like an idiot, or you are an idiot.
Here's another helpful life tip: most competent individuals would instead express some doubt about their claim, like:
"I really like that you can see what weapons players have in reserve in Halo 5, it was a nice feature. That wasn't in any previous games, right?"
*Note: No I don't. Be careful, sarcasm is common on the world wide web!
By db Go To Postsomeone explain to me this thing…There is a meter that shows up when you hold the weapon pickup button.

Oh jesus, sooooo sorry man. How fucking dare I remember something differently, I MEAN THOSE POOR SPARTANS, WHAT ARE THEY WITHOUT WEAPONS ON THEIR BACKS. If you took the extra two seconds to see where the statement was made. I posted a picture of agent locke and said I liked that they are showing weapons on their back. Guess what dip shit, I was wrong and Derpface corrected me.
Dw bro, the last thing I'm going to do in life is take a "helpful life tip" by some douche bag on some halo forums.
Got this pissed off because I said I like that they added weapons to spartans backs.
By db Go To PostWhy? What is the point? You hold the button you pick up a weapon. An artistic flourish probably.
By db Go To PostWhy? What is the point? You hold the button you pick up a weapon. It's just another element of player feedback.

By db Go To PostPlayer feedback? I'm just confused about its necessity. Just seems like pointless UI to me.'
Really isn't for player feedback imo, it just looks really clean and snazzy seeing that circular meter fill up. The little pop sounded they added to headshot kills in Halo 5 is another example. 343? More like 34Clean.
By db Go To PostAre there different hold times for weapons or something?
Nothing from the weapons we've seen. Maybe it could apply to the massive weapon pick ups? Like detachable turrets etc...
But it's really there just for aesthetics and general feel (which I personally like).

Look, you said something dumb. My point is that you should try harder to not do that. Or not, and continue being a hilariously entertaining target for some good ol' fashion mocking, it's your life.
I personally would enjoy the latter, makes the time between matches really slide on by.

There's no need to be an asshole about it.

So if all the weapons are picked up in the same amount of time by just holding a button, there's literally no point to the meter.
By db Go To PostSo if all the weapons are picked up in the same amount of time by just holding a button, there's literally no point to the meter. It's just a visual indicator, it's unobtrusive and provides some extra information. What's wrong with it?

Thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to compile a report, with details, links, theories, images and a conclusion, reviewing the information, then perhaps write my 2 sentence post which doesn't affect anyone here. Hope next time my memory isn't hazy about older Halo games, wouldn't want to receive another threat.*

It's almost instantaneous, pausing at the right moment was like playing some mini game hahaha.
HaloGA-ENT is still HaloENT I see.
I don't see the point of the pick up meter. I don't think it's for the benefit of other players either. I'd say it's likely more so just a style thing. But whatevs.
The main thing from those screenshots I would like 343's artists to work on is their human environments. They're pretty but they don't look like they serve any purpose except for the purpose of existing for a video game.
Wind. Brah. Ya might want to cool off a bit.

I'm getting old. I don't need extraneous shit on my screen that is entirely useless. Also some of the other crap looks pretty small.

Keep in mind I cut out a bit from the bottom (loading bar). I do agree, fortunately though they have the circle highlighting the button icon, so nothing much really added (if you're worried about space wasted).

Yeah, they really don't seem "lived in" to me. Halo 3 especially did a much better job of that.

Thanks! This is perfect. My favorite part is that literally the cleverest thing you could think of was to copy me.
By Lord of Admirals Go To PostYou consider that clutter?
Personally I like it, but if someone doesn't it doesn't take up any space.
I mean the only word which can describe it, is it's just whatever.

Unless you're referring to the ENT thing lol
By Prinz Eugn Go To PostYeah, they really don't seem "lived in" to me. Halo 3 especially did a much better job of that. That's probably because the vast majority of human buildings in Halo 3 are 300 to 400 year old ruins.

But "just whatever" is two words, three if you count "what" and "ever" as separate.
I'm so sorry
By Lord of Admirals Go To PostIt is literally player feedback. You push a button, and the game responds to let you know you're pushing the button to perform an action.
This is also accomplished by, y'know, brandishing the weapon you just picked up by pressing aforementioned button.
By db Go To PostPlayer feedback to know I'm pressing and holding a button? What?
I will actually pay you to change your avatar to the weapon change meter since you love it so much
Hey you and a couple others are the ones doing your damndest to defend a completely useless UI implementation.

By Prinz Eugn Go To PostYeah, they really don't seem "lived in" to me. Halo 3 especially did a much better job of that.I think that's just overall my biggest grupe with 343's art. A lot of environments don't seem "lived" in except for maybe covenant sections that we've seen in Halo 5. And that's partly in thanks to the culture of the world's being show off. Looking back at like ODST, those places felt like they could be real spaces people visited and lived in. Destiny does a good job of this as well.
By Lord of Admirals Go To PostThat's probably because the vast majority of human buildings in Halo 3 are 300 to 400 year old ruins.
Even so, it would be nice with all the space magic ding-a-lings you deal with to go through some more 'grounded' spaces to remind you that you are dealing with people on a subtle level. That's something I really liked about FEAR- the pretty standard office spaces made it seem more immersive to me, like those spaces felt pretty 'real' even though you were dealing with psychic super-soldiers.
