By jem Go To PostI talking about my experience.Lucky you
I haven't run into any of those issues in months. Not saying they don't exist, I just never see them.
oOoOooooo new page fellas
The MCC issues are very inconsistent. I've had very little problem getting matches, and only a few times that coop matches wouldn't start or it would kick someone from the group and kick all of us (thanks to a certain friends poor toaster Internet. He gets kicked from a lot of games not just the MCC lol).
One of my other friends, who lives maybe ten miles away, has constantly experienced lag, disconnects, times when the game itself won't load, coop issues in campaign where it just won't work, etc... It's just odd. But for other online coop or MP games, we have the same solid experience, so it's not an Internet issue.
Can't wait for all dedicated servers, all the time.

Yep, even the issues for me are inconsistent. Most of the time I will find games fine, experience very few bugs in campaign etc... But then every now and then I get a game which fucks up totally. Match doesn't load, it crashes, sometimes I cannot access the menu and have to restart.
But fortunately this is maybe once every 30-50 games so its a relatively rare occurrence. I think MCC will get much better with the next OS update because I feel a lot of the menu crashes are linked to XB1's current OS.

Same here, but it's not really giving me that "just one more game" feeling I need from a multiplayer shooter.
Good thing Gears comes out on Tuesday.

I wish I got more of a chance to play TF. I bought an XB1 around a month before MCC and didn't have my 360 so missed out. I bought it on discount and tried it and it would have been an amazing game to fill in the gap of time I had :(

Match doesn't load, it crashes, sometimes I cannot access the menu and have to restart.I personally link the MCC issues to several things. IMO I think it's a combination of the system's otherwise small quirks creating more issues than what was anticipated, bugs from moving 360 games onto the One, inexperience of some of the developers, and lack of proper testing.
But fortunately this is maybe once every 30-50 games so its a relatively rare occurrence. I think MCC will get much better with the next OS update because I feel a lot of the menu crashes are linked to XB1's current OS.
I still have faith in the structural integrity of H5G because H4 (gameplay decisions aside) was structurally sound. 343i knows how to build a game from the ground up. Whatever problems that were evolved from 343i's lack of coding was built around them taking a pre-built code and editing it to suit needs of a new system and a new mission (current online standards for games that had older standards, for instance). I think 343i's biggest point of blame for me is in their not properly testing the MCC before release, which I know they learned from because of the public beta, the closed beta, as well as seemingly a lot more internal testing as well for H5G.
I'm not bumhurt about the MCC the way others are, but neither have I experienced some of the issues that others have and continue to. I wish it was universally a more well-planned out, better-implemented, and better-delivered product than what it was. With that said, I truly do believe 343i has learned that lesson the hard way, and are dedicated to making their new product (which is 100% theirs with full creative freedom and knowledge of) completely solid for us.

Nothing comes close to Shootmania CTF though, that is a true GOAT of movement. Shame the population is completely dead and literally no one plays CTF on it anymore...
i'm kind of having fun with spartan ops. i'm just using the full sandbox, charging bad guys, swapping weapons on the fly, sticking elites, smacking grunts. i'm also not playing like i did the first go around --- cautiously picking off enemies from a distance. good times. not all missions, but some. of course any mission with prometheans is garbage.

Interesting, I felt like the crawlers were the most entertaining enemy to fight in Halo 4.

I like that they can climb on walls and ceilings. That's pretty unique, and it makes you have to shoot in directions you normally wouldn't have to.
What's wrong with crawlers? I find them really good and they help improved my aim before jumping into MP. Rarely ever died to them. Watchers are annoying. Issue with Prometheans is you don't really get any feedback when you do damage. Elites show shield stutter, jackals and grunts flinch (also one shot kill to head).
Knights and Watchers literally just soak it all in, no feedback. I am getting the vibe from the campaign videos in Halo 5 that they are different, there seems to be a glass-esque shielding texture to Knights, where it cracks. Haven't seen enough of the watchers.

The new Promethean Soldier looks cool. If you go back a few pages there's a Warzone YT video where the guy playing gets right up close to one and you can hear it's reciting some war speech about how the Prometheans will destroy the human race, and they are no match, etc... and then it gets blasted in the face.
More than any other game I've seen, Halo 5 seems like it's the game 343 has wanted to make this whole time, but couldn't due to the restrictions of the Xbox 360 and not knowing exactly what to do in terms of changing the game mechanics. They failed with Halo 4's ordnance drops and boltshot nonsense and what-not, but now they've removed or changed those things to keep what was good about Halo 4 and get rid of what wasn't.
I like the crawlers, they're extremely satisfying to pop with a headshot.
Knights kinda suck though.
I think a lot of H4's issues come from the fact that they were literally building the studio as they built the game. Now that they're a fully established studio I imagine the development of H5 has been a lot smoother.

Finally, gotta finish Halo 4 quick though. Mission 3 through a speed run is really difficult and takes a lot of practice.

Disagree. From a technical and content standpoint Halo 4 is an extremely good game. If Halo 4 came out as a game under a different name, it would be considered a superb FPS. The issue is it carried on the name, so it had to carry the mantle of the older games. Which in my opinion it did really well (not from a MP stand point).
Halo 4 in MCC is really good. No loudouts, map weapons etc... I don't know what they call it, Halo 4 turbo or whatever. I do remember my friend months after the release of Halo 4 (when I've stopped playing), telling me about the updates and how it's made the game way better.
Sort of reminds me of DmC and DMC. Both are good games.

It was a extremely good FPS, just not a good Halo when it launches. I love the post turbo update especially MCC Halo 4.

This neglects the technical problems and missing content/features that it had at launch.
And continued to have for months after. It was like a mini-MCC, with the exception that the campaign and MM *technically* were functional.

It's wrong to equate the issues of MCC to Halo 4. It's not even a "mini-MCC". Online worked, there were almost no bugs/glitches. It was a couple of features (notice the term features not content) missing, such as file browser and ranks. Apart from that what else was there? It was a stellar launch. The CE:A and H4 launches makes me confident Halo 5 will be good at launch too (well at least better than most FPS's out there).

I would consider promised features that aren't functional to be missing content. It also gave us a prime look into how little control 343 had over PR with the 14 Day Buy and Play fiasco. 100% lie through their teeth (most likely MS's suggestion) about a glitch, claiming it was planned all along. Conveniently, they had to patch the game later to fix the "totally not a fuck up".
Or how about the fact that their DLC broke achievement unlocks until last year when they just said "fuck it!" and released a patch that just straight up unlocked all the DLC achievements for everyone because they couldn't fix the actual problem? It was a stellar launch if you're talking about sales. It was not-so-much if you're talking about the game, features, player-retention, PR, DLC, etc.
For me, a game with basic functionality is the bare minimum as far as expectations go. Somehow, MCC missed this mark. But as a customer, I expect promised features and paid content to actually work properly as well. I also don't respect being lied to (by a company or anyone else). H4 missed these marks, but I guess the game was at least functional and made a shit ton of cash, so S T E L L A R L A U N C H B O Y Z!

Hmm, well to me a stellar launch is basically it all works. Now I wasn't very savvy at the time (with all the features) etc... But I had no issues with finish the campaign twice (once on normal, once on legendary) and playing online. But I guess you do make good points which I didn't realise.
Would you say you're worried for Halo 5's launch (from a working stand point) if you think 343's track record isn't great?
I have heard from multiple sources that 343 is doing everything they can to make sure that Halo 5's launch goes as smoothly as possible.
Whether that's true or not, only time will tell. Only 10 weeks remain.

I'm optimistic after playing the Beta and seeing a big turnaround in their PR approach re: H5. However, their handling of PR post-launch of MCC was just as dishonest. Claiming they didn't know there were these issues is laughable. I have no doubt they were being made to hit the deadline, no matter what the state of the game, but they signed off on and approved the game, so the blame is on them no matter who actually did the dev work. That it still has the issues it does a full year after launch doesn't bode well (although they likely have few people working it at this point). We'll have to see.

They have been a bit more transparent and listening a bit better re: H5's development, so perhaps there really has been a paradigm shift in their approach. This is the first Halo game (other than MCC) that I won't be getting a dumb kid edition of any kind. Maybe H6, but until 343 prove themselves and regains my confidence, they don't deserve any extra cash from me.

Well, it feels like 343 is more in "place" for Halo 5, if that makes any sense. Halo 4 was studio building and game building at the same time and while I can't in good conscience allow that to excuse the decisions made with the game, it feels like they're in a better position now to deliver to a solid Halo experience than they were with Halo 4.
Someone in the 12 minute ViDoc put it nicely. Halo 5 is 343's sophomore Halo offering. It's time to put up or shut up and I think they have what it takes to put up. We'll see if they actually do, but I'm pretty optimistically hyped right now.
