PVP in MMOs is usually complete shit rife with imbalance issues out of the ass and flavor of the month fuckery.

no lie
Destiny PvP is a mess. In the Crucible (pvp) focused Game Informer feature the Crucible Design Lead basically outright said "if you take crucible too seriously you're gonna have a bad time"
That being said, stuff like Trials of Osiris are really cool. And much better than Breakout. Breakout could learn some things from Trials.

Anyway, came back here to ask who still plays MCC

MMO PVP should always be more objective based than anything else because then a lot of class issues get balanced out by actually striving for a goal other than slaying.
By J-Twelve Go To PostHalo's art style beats most other shooters though, regardless of graphical fidelity. I kinda feel like that goes unsaid most of the time. Everything from character designs to weapon silhouettes. I would almost never confuse a Spartan or a SPNKR with any of their counterparts from other similar games.
I agree, although 343 has deviated a bit (which is fine) I can still see the connections with the BR, the AR (still very memorable), sword etc... But bruh, what they did with the rocket launcher.... no. Unacceptable 343, I mean Shotgun whatever wasn't that original and new still has a fresh memorable look but no. Not the rocket launcher.
By Wesleyshark Go To PostOh man… That Taken King stream. I'm so ready to jump back into destiny again.
God damn it, I usually like your opinions so I guess I'm definitely gonna have to give Destiny a shot. In most games I've always enjoyed Melee combat so I guess Titan is for me.

Yes to all on that. The art style is what makes Halo so unique. And I'd argue that Destiny will also continue to pave it's own path as well. Both games gave a richness to them that you don't see in CODs or Battlefields, etc.

Destiny has already cemented itself as one of my favorite video games. It stumbled for a little while but it's got massive potential beyond the already really excellent changes they've made along the way.
It's not perfect but it is fucking fun.
By Wesleyshark Go To PostTheMan, you play for nearly 6 hours a day. That's not "having fun," that's "feeding an addiction."TitanPunchbot 3000 is a fun time. Warlocks are my favorite class, but I have a Titan also and it's a damn blast. Entirely different play styles.

It's fun for me and my friends who play as much as I have. Has nothing to do with addiction. I stopped playing a couple months ago as I finally felt like I'd gotten as much from the game as it had to offer. I've logged in twice since just to buy something from Xur. Been catching up on other games for now haha.

Tbh he does have a point you gotta watch yourself with this stuff, I did this with WoW a couple of times, man was that game my fucking black hole of time. This was almost 5 years ago and thank fuck I don't have that kind of time any more. Most of my free gaming time would be going into MCC these days (and I still dont seem to be getting any better at H2A).
By Tawpgun Go To PostAnyway, came back here to ask who still plays MCCI do, it's basically the only game I play at the moment. Just waiting for H5...
Trying to finish all the games on Legendary though, got through 3, most of 4 and most of 2. Only on Truth and Reconciliation on CE though...

And I'd say this about any game or hobby really. Unless it's literally your job, spending that much time doing one thing, especially if it's playing a game where you're likely sitting down, ain't good for you.

Truth and Reconciliation was a bitch, I think I wanted to cry. Those fucking elites who storm out from the doors. I only found it on Halo 2, but watch Naked Eli. The speed runs do take quite a lot of practice but I enjoy it way more than running through the levels.
Whats your GT? I'm out of town for the next week or so but I'll hit you up after. GT: Wollveren
I got cheated out of my perfection in Halo 4 today, so I might not play for a bit.
Ever see me on MCC, just send me an invite if you want to play.

We need to organise some HaloENT MCC games sometime. Get a bunch of people together and play silly custom games etc.

I know that feeling, the number of times I've come ridiculously close to a perfection is rather frustrating.
What did they do to the rocket launcher? Are you talking about that Hydra thing or is that a separate weapon?
By J-Twelve Go To PostWhat did they do to the rocket launcher? Are you talking about that Hydra thing or is that a separate weapon?
The hydra is the main rocket launcher now. SPNKR will be a legendary weapon I believe.

God damn it Wes, that art style. Really superb mix of fantasy and sci-fi. I gotta give it a shot for production value alone. Should I just wait for TTK to release?
Pvp is kind of a mess right now, but it can still be fun.
Hopeful for the 2.0 balance patch, seems to do all the right things so far.

It's almost a WWII inspired sci-fi, in some respects, with some fantasy tangents throughout. It's very interesting and absolutely gorgeous.
The TKK come with a one-time character boost that will bring a character from 0 to 25, if you'd rather wait and jump into the later stuff. At this point... I would wait I think. There's so many massive changes coming with TKK- it might be jarring to play as-is and then the overhaul only weeks after.
But up to you really. There's a lot to do in the current game, if you wanted to jump in now.

I didn't actually, I might check it out at some point

Plus, the cartrage ejection and locking in to place is too damn satisfying.
Anyone watch the gamescom HSC? How come they didn't use the spectator silhouettes there but used them on stage?

This is halogaf for you. destiny is always a topic of discussion the second there is a lull in halo news
I would pick up Destiny, but I know it is a huge time sync. No thanks. Going to school and playing Gears, CSGO, and Halo 5 is enough lol

This; it's also why there were only 2 maps used.
Second guessing my plan to pick up Gears day one.. I have just gotten Titanfall and I have a code to access the Xbone beta for BO3... That might be enough to keep me busy until TTK on the 15th.
I hate saying this...but MCC is still a chore online. It's just simply NOT a good experience in any consistent way. I jumped on Halo CE and the network performance is just terrible. I quit the game and won't try it again. It's truly sad.
I'm playing Halo 4 with the wife and she seems to immediately like it more than the other Halo games, almost as much as CE. She loves the addition of sprint as well. I think 343 is smart in adding it...most people just love the feeling of whizzing through corridors and feeling powerful and fast.
EDIT: NOT trying to incite yet another sprint discussion/debate. Just saying from a business perspective it's a smart move IMHO.

MCC is still a chore. Matchmaking still doesn't work up to expected speed. NAT shouldn't need to be open when Moderate works for every other game.
By Lord of Admirals Go To PostDo you have an Open NAT?Yeah I do. 100+ connection too. lol
By Fahzgoolin Go To PostYeah I do. 100+ connection too. lol
I get very few low latency games on MCC, pretty frustrating tbh. Usually get a few super laggy games before I get one that's decent. Rinse and repeat. Would be super nice if you didn't have to back out of the lobby after each game, that way if you're playing on a stable connection it would last a bit longer.
By FollowTheWind Go To Post No, not acceptable. It looks good and I like it and all, but no.
Everytime that 'thing' is posted, it still hurts. Especially when I was playing H2A yesterday and I was thinking that the RL looks and sounds amazing.
The MCC and Gears UE are gonna keep me busy till Halo 5 (hopefully).
MCC might as well be fixed from my experience. The only issues I run into now is the occasional laggy game.

I haven't run into any of those issues in months. Not saying they don't exist, I just never see them.
