By link1201 Go To PostWow, that's crazy. I hope the game gets to the game I envisioned when it was first announced. It sounds as if it's getting closer.PAX, probably.
So anyone know when new Halo 5 information will hit? I'm getting really anxious. I have missed the game since the beta. I need new info lol.
By Tha Robbertster Go To PostNot related to your post, but just noticed your name haha. Any reason for that part of the anatomy?None what so ever.
I am almost sure Destiny 2 will be a fucking amazing game. They will need to hire a few big key names to replace the people who left during the 343 shift and the Bungie vision shift (marty etc...) to keep the vision clear, and reduce the number of MMO features and more fun features.

I'm keeping track of some of the changes they outlined in the live stream in the OT: http://slaent.com/thread/60724/page/12/
By digmouse Go To PostIt doesn't have "MMO features" in the first place. They're introducing quests in the next update. It's becoming more MMO, not less.
By digmouse Go To PostIt doesn't have "MMO features" in the first place. It does, it just wishes it doesn't.
Or I wish it didn't, at any rate.
By Poodlestrike Go To PostIt does, it just wishes it doesn't.Oh I thought you meant stuff like clans/guilds, looking for group features.
Or I wish it didn't, at any rate.
I don't have friends that play consoles nor does P2P network work for me so unless they make the game solo friendly it still doesn't appeal a single bit.
By Poodlestrike Go To PostPAX, probably.I hope so. I was a little surprised they don't have a panel there. Hope we get something.
By digmouse Go To PostOh I thought you meant stuff like clans/guilds, looking for group features. It has clans. They're just useless, is all.

By Wesleyshark Go To PostBecause it's fun haha. Most of my gaming friends have played it as much as I have. We just enjoy it. :pDo you work, go to school, etc.? Seriously, roughly six hours a day every single day without skipping a beat is crazy. I have maybe six free hours for gaming in a week, if that.
Assuming you get between six and eight hours of sleep every night, you're literally spending 35% of your waking hours on Destiny.

I hate this myth that all these bungie people left and made 343.
I can think of One. Frankie, but there are probably a few. And not a mass exodus as people still seem to think.

Yep, already have that Project: Yasuo skin seen. I can imagine something similar playing out with Halo really well, cosmetic armours and such to pay for the free DLC maps.
The plasma pistol in CE is really, surprisingly good. It's not actually totally useless when uncharged.

I can't believe that bogus rumor persists even after all this time. I've heard that only 4 or 5 guys at 343i are from Bungie. Other than Marty, the only one I know is Vic DeLeon, but he quit recently and is working for Highwire Games now.
Which makes me excited for Highwire Games, because when the Bungie Old Guard gets together to make a game with a small team, they produce some crazy awesome stuff.
See: Halo CE, ODST

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure there are quite a few big names who moved to 343. I'm not talking the small workers. Frankie, Shishka (Chad Armstrong), Vic Deleon and Seth Gibson from what I'm reading. Although it's just Frankie and Vic now at 343. Also Certain Affinity which is very close to 343 has a lot of ex-bungie guys. Always assumed Josh Holmes was at Bungie but apparently not (where was he?).
I'd argue the Bungie of today isn't the same Bungie as during Halo, would I be wrong to say that?

Btw by MMO features I mean things they've implemented to keep people coming back, grinds etc... I consider those MMO features. They're very addictive.
2015, people still camp prone in corners.

I think when discussing "features", people tend to think you're talking about gameplay features. Sounds like you're asking about social features within the world.
Does anyone know what actually went down between MS and Bungie? I feel with the Destiny content they didn't actually leave on good terms, and I don't see why (unless Bungie was vehemently against for whatever reason) MS didn't continue supporting them.
So seeing as this has become another Destiny thread...
Is it possible to get Etheric light without House of Wolves? Because it seems really difficult without it, which is kinda bullshit.

It's not surprising they went independent first before completely separating.

That is true, I'm sure Bungie wanted to hit the multi-platform space anyways. It's just the little stuff I read on reddit and places about how the early exclusive content being on PS4 was because of some hostility between the two companies (Bungie + MS). Though it could just be more because one paid the other more.
By reilo Go To PostI think when discussing "features", people tend to think you're talking about gameplay features. Will you be getting Halo 5?
Naw, no H5, less to do with H5 and more to do because I don't think the XB1 right now is a good value.

By Mix Go To PostJesus Christ there are over 190,000 people watching the Destiny twitch stream right now
Maybe you should make Destiny content instead.
Also, Swords as heavy weapons confirmed. So now I have giant flaming hammers to hurl at enemies when I'm not slicing through them with greatswords, and guns. Halo who?

Just curious, but why do you think it's not at a good value? Is it an exclusives thing, or a price point or...?
By FollowTheWind Go To PostJust curious, but why do you think it's not at a good value? Is it an exclusives thing, or a price point or…?Both. Most of the exclusives don't interest me in style and variance. Plus, Microsoft's first party game output the last five+ years has been lacking and they don't have the third-party edge this time around, either. They also clearly botched the launch of the console.
I also don't play videogames as much as I used to, so it's hard to justify owning both consoles.
By Lord of Admirals Go To PostWhy?
I have been playing classic games as of late that have sometimes sub-30fps. I went back and played Halo CE and 2 on the original Xbox as well. 30fps these days is a lot nicer than previous generations of 30fps. Look at Forza Horizon or Sunset Overdrive..they have 30fps but it's still smooth enough. This is coming from a guy that plays CSGO on a 144hz monitor.
I'm seeing games look more impressive than Halo 5 visually because of the 60fps goal. It's not the end of the world (it definitely looks good enough!), but I wish Halo's campaign could have been given the visual freedom at 30fps.

Would you say it looks as good (or better) than other 60 fps games out there? Look a bit worse than COD, BF is too inconsistent and has a shitty FPS. Battlefront looks better but I feel in terms of faces and animation, significantly worse.
Oh man... That Taken King stream. I'm so ready to jump back into destiny again.
PVP in Destiny is fun as hell.
By db Go To PostWhy would you PVP in Destiny?
PVP in Destiny is fun as hell.
Halo's art style beats most other shooters though, regardless of graphical fidelity. I kinda feel like that goes unsaid most of the time. Everything from character designs to weapon silhouettes. I would almost never confuse a Spartan or a SPNKR with any of their counterparts from other similar games.

I can't say until the final product, but the game's textures are pretty lacking, especially when it comes to environments. It's not that big of a deal, but Gears of War has beautiful textures and it's really noticeable in the campaign footage seen thus far. Blops 3 looks really nice with some great vegetation and lighting. Halo 5 looks a bit flat in comparison, but we haven't seen a whole lot either.
