Paging Dr. Wesleyshark, you're a Destiny guy.
I'm bored as HELL right now and I've been considering that digital edition of TTK where you get Destiny, TDB and HOW immediately and TTK on Sept 15th. Do you think I should start playing it right now, or wait until TTK? I don't know if TTK will improve the original story THAT much to the point where it's worth waiting a month to even start playing... I also need a new multiplayer PvP game, MCC is getting really stale. Worth doing or naw?

You shouldn't go into playing Destiny for the story... I don't want to say it's "bad' but it's just not something you'll remember or use as a motivating factor because of the way the story is told through the mission structure. I'm sure there's a really good story and plot in Destiny, but I don't remember a single thing about it because of its MMO-structured mission-based story.
The gunplay and multiplayer is pretty damn good today especially with the recent changes. TTK should put it over the top.

I don't really care about the story. I just want something to do for like 10-15 hours (getting to level 20), and then playing the PvP multiplayer. Raids would probably be fun too, and since I would have The Dark Below and House of Wolves, I'll have ample choice in those, yes?

It fails to provide any sort of development for... uh, anything, really, but especially characters. This wouldn't be a problem in an of itself if the characters as they are were interesting, or at least entertaining, but this is most definitely not the case. A good story lives and dies by its characters, and Destiny at launch simply didn't have any. 2 expansions in and they're still pretty barebones.

Hey Derpy. got an Xbone? :)
Also..
My cognitive dissonance on holding out against Halo 5 is getting even louder and static-ier, ghahh...
Thought: wouldn't that many Wahrers running around at the same time create a major rift in the space-time continuum?

Go for it. There's enough content to string you along. I'm biased though lol. I like Destiny and I'm just waiting to jump back in.
Getting through the main stuff and the DLC would put your character in a good spot for the TKK. But then again the TKK also gives you a one-time boost to TKK-approrpriate levels. So I dunno. Either option isn't too bad, but getting familiar with everything prior to TKK is something I would do- but that's me.

What if getting Destiny now means not getting Gears Ultimate on launch day? That's something else I have to consider.
Bungie really nailed the snow setting in the final mission of Halo 3, I don't really care for 343's art in that particular setting.
By derpface123 Go To PostStill curious why AnonomissX asked me if I had an Xbone…She gonna hack your Kinect, find your house, and steal your kidneys. Run man, run!
By FUNKNOWN iXi Go To PostYeah, the arguments to remove it have existed in every Halo and have equal validity. Before I continue, it's important to note the distinction between "radar" and "motion tracker." Radar is just the tool in which you see the red dots, but motion tracker is the design of the radar in which it TRACKS MOTION, meaning whenever somebody MOVES, they appear on the radar.Very well said, good points, im convinced. I'm sure there's be growing pains with the adjustment period, but it really does seem like it would be a good move.
1) It's a crutch that limits player improvement by gimping their combat awareness from feedback in Halo's game design. For example, it's really loud when someone is about to Ground Pound, but you're saying people can just use motion to see that someone is above them and use that info to get out of the way. Players then start to rely on motion tracker instead of building skills to interpret what's going on in the match by strengthening their combat awareness.
2) Chasing that red dot.
2a) Puts teammates in poor positions when they spawn.
2b) Think about it. With motion tracker, lesser-skilled players just chase those red dots over and over, seeking revenge for their last death. "Damn! Almost had him! When I spawn I'm running straight back to where he was as I stare at this radar to see where the red dots are moving." Whereas without motion tracker, the player is forced to think critically about what's best to do in that spawn, usually referring to their teammates' tags on the screen and moving to their locations to support them. So no radar improves teamwork.
2c) When you see red dots near you, you panic and throw grenades before looking at what's right in front of you. And what's right in front of them a lot of the time is a teammate that's about to be team killed. It has happened to me, it has happened to you, it most certainly happens to people who aren't too good at Halo.
2d) Circles, man. Circles. We've all experienced chasing enemies around corners as they swiftly and easily evade our movement. That enemy you made no shield and is running circles around a rock avoiding you is something we've all been frustrated with, and it's exacerbated with motion tracker.
3) Mind games. With so much information at your disposal, it's much more difficult to have interesting mind games. If you want to catch someone off-guard or be creative in your approach towards an enemy, your options are to either crawl or hope they're not paying attention to their motion tracker. Crawling around the map in a shooter that's has seen an increase in speed is not fun. Hoping that the player is not paying attention is not fun.
4) Camping. If you have a motion tracker that displays elevation and has a good range, that increases the likelihood of people playing defensively. Defensive Halo is some of the worst Halo because it's already a relatively slowpaced shooter, so why bog it down by gimping player movement?
5) There's a better solution: Sound-based radar – you only appear on the radar when you shoot your weapon. This doesn't gimp player movement nearly as much and it allows for interesting plays; it's the best compromise for those who enjoy having some form of radar, although I'm still a fan of removing it altogether.
I can go on about this, but there are some talking points.
