I like having dedicated ranked playlists and then a bunch of unranked playlists too. I like to be able to play without worrying about losing, especially in modes like Big Team Battle where usually what I enjoy most is just faffing about in vehicles and seeing what chaos I can cause.

I wonder what the data showed. I hope we get some insight into the decisions 343 will make in regards to ranking/playlists.

I had far more close games in that 3 week beta than I've had in any other Halo. It seemed like every other game was within 5 kills.
Do they really have the balls to ship Arena without radar enabled??
I know that alone will turn a huge portion of the player base away from it. It already has an uphill battle to stay relevant. I really wish they could just disable it once you hit a certain threshold, say...Gold?

At least that's what I'm assuming.
Yes, but that list alludes that HCS is the only Arena mode there is. I think that's how it should be, I just don't think they'll do it.
I guess I should have been more clear, I don't think there should be 16 playlists. Those are just the ones I think would be worthy of having a playlist in some orientation.
For some reason I feel like I hate rotational playlists now, but I loved them when it was like double XP weekends and stuff, IDK.

We had playlists like SWAT being replaced with Team Ball. It just wasn't very good.

Splitting Arena into 2 separate playlists would be SO dumb.

That survey list up there?
The Halo 5 beta was full of extremely close & competitive matches for me. Rarely did any team lose or win by more than 10. I felt like I had more 50-48/50-49 matches than I had ever had, lol.

By Ram Go To PostSplitting Arena into 2 separate playlists would be SO dumb.I think you misunderstand what "Arena" is. Arena is not a playlist. It is one of two branches of MP, with Warzone being the other branch. Similar to how MP for H4 was divided up into two main branches: War Games & Spartan Ops. Warzone is its own thing with its own set of rules, whereas Arena is a term used for all the typical competitive Halo MP gaming we've come to expect in a Halo title, including BTB, Slayer, Objective, etc..
"Arena Core", as its shown in that list, is its own playlist alongside Team Slayer, Team Objective, et al, all underneath the "Arena Multiplayer" banner. Arena Core is not separate from Arena, it is one of the many parts of Arena.

By AnonomissX Go To PostWell, then, heh.Yeah but to be fair it's come a good ways since launch. The whole "underpowered" thing doesn't really make sense to me when i am looking at games like Quantum Break and the new TR game and even Scalebound. Not as powerful as PS4 but hardly "underpowered". as a whole. Not to mention the Crackdown demo is the most "next gen" thing i have seen so far from any console.
I loved the heck out of my 360, and the Xbone seems like such an underpowered clusterfuck from what was developed and promised as the next gen console. The sluggish response to any commands, the clonky counter-intuitive user interface, the hey-let's-snap-a-party-and-wait-60-seconds-to-load is genuinely a frustrating, expensive for me step backwards. But to be fair, there is hope on the horizon with the new UI reveal, with what is supposed to be a much faster response time.
I'm waiting with 'bated breath to finally be pleased with my purchase, and I am looking at my options for getting the Taken King Destiny expansion, so overwhelming hate for xbox is really not in my vocabulary.

Every time I see this, I think of Chiron TL-34 from HCE. I'd love to play that teleporter maze map with Spartan Abilities (Ground Pound would be hilariously crazy). The possibilities!
By -Ryn Go To PostSo what is everyone looking forward to most for Halo 5 and if you would like, what are your biggest worries?
Honestly, I'm looking forward to all of it equally. I'm obviously cracking at the seams waiting to get my hands on the campaign, but then I consider the chaotic fun of Warzone and get giddy, and then I'm just aching to play more of the Arena that I loved from the Beta. 343i has done a fantastic job of hyping this game, at least in my eyes.
If I have any worries about the game, it'd be two:
1) I care deeply enough about the lore that I don't want it crapped on. I mostly trust them on this, but it's precious enough that I still have that speck of worry
2) I worry about technical deliverance. I think 343i has learned a lot about themselves, about us, and about the demands of a large-scale
AAA title (specifically MP), so I'm mostly optimistic, but I don't have the level of confidence I'd like to have that it will go off without a hitch. And knowing the typical Halo community (especially after the MCC), any error small or large will be supremely scrutinized and used as testimony for the company's substantiality.

Also, just as an interesting note, it seems as though this isn't just a Knight variation, but actually one of the original Prometheans. It's name is "Knight Strategos," which is shared with a Promethean that appears in the Forerunner books (minus the Knight part). And, in-game, it's referred to in the singular sense, as if there's only one of them.
Which would beg the question of whether or not this is an actual character that we'll meet in the campaign.
By M0aHerder Go To PostIt's an Incineration Cannon.Don't forget that we also have the Warden, who has a speaking part. So we know we already have at least one specific singular Promethean character coming.

Who is the big baddie? Is the conflict between Blue Team and Osiris going to be used as the main conflict, or is there a more pressing issue (dealing with the Guardians, or perhaps even beyond them as Chief is seemingly sided with the Guardians) that either or both teams will have to tackle? So many questions. So many months until answers.

The biggest thing I'm most worried about really is customization. Or better put, what I'm most disappointed with since it doesn't seem there will be any changes in the future.
Stuff like the fun little bro moments in the win screen being traded out for awkward emotionless standing and the lack of armor diversibility is a major bummer for me. Though if that's my biggest worry it's at least a good sign.

At least the Armor Set option of Halo 5's customization is now full-body. It's not like they just change chest and shoulders, they actually completely change your Spartan's entire body, all the way down to your back piece, your leg armor, your shin armor, and even your foot armor.
