Wonder where the inquest even begins here. Those top order collapses, I assume. Then try and figure out why our bowlers were getting fuck all out of the pitch.
Once that's done, need to forget about it, cos that's a battering that will play on their minds otherwise.

Bad innings happen. I don't think you can do much about it. I wonder if Anderson has played too long though.
I don't think either side fielded particularly well, both put down chances they really should take.
And for the most, the english batsmen seemed to get themselves out.

By chandlerparsons Go To PostI just turned on the telly. What happened??Jimmy Anderson
Massively pessimistic, but I don't trust us at all to punish that innings.
Just me, or this been a really anti-climatic Ashes.
The games haven't really been that interesting. One team seems to just under perform and thats it. GG. No fightback or anything.

By Laboured Go To PostWhat's the lowest ever innings amount in an Ashes test? They said Australia got like 32 in 1912 or something
By Hitch Go To PostA bit nervous about England doing the exact same thing nowThe most Hitch thing I ever read.
My knowledge of cricket is limited so can someone help me out here ?
Of your an aussie batsmen and you see your team is being slaughtered why would you not adopt the most defence approach your able to?
I also dont get how bowlers are making the ball bounce on the seam and why that makes the ball move it just enough out of your line of sight to catch the edge of your bat, thats incredible.

I can't believe how fast this test was decided. Holy crumbs. Time to work on my American accent.

By Kidjr Go To PostMy knowledge of cricket is limited so can someone help me out here ?They were idiotic not to. None of the wickets were due to LBW and all because they kept swinging at shit they shouldn't have. They just lost it mentally and went aggressive.

That early stroke Clarke played blind and cringing, up in the air. He can do the press conference patter about how he's still massively confident in his technique, but that kind of shit in that kind of situation speaks louder.
What are the chances England catch Australia without losing a wicket? Chances they don't have to bat a second innings?

Amazing really. England and Cook were considered beyond saving not that long ago. Now to take this kind of form on tour. Flat lifeless wickets don't suit us though.
Amazing win. Plus, it has the bonus effect of nullifying any possibility of KP returning due to public pressure. Good times.
Yeah. It was a really terrible series. There wasn't any good cricket played. Never a real contest.
And good lord Australia played badly.

Crazy
As Sean Ingle pointed out in 2015, almost as many people watched a 1974 feature length episode of Columbo on ITV3 as watched Joe Root take the winning catch at long off at Cardiff in the first Ashes Test of that year. And while Ingle clearly fails to recognise Peter Falk’s televisual brilliance, it’s a worry. Eight and a half million people watched the culmination of the fourth Test in 2005.https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2019/jul/11/cricket-world-cup-free-to-air-final
Honestly madness for English Cricket (and F1).
