Not a fan of the production either.
The music is just boring. I prefer Killer Mike and El-P on their solo stuff.
RTJ3 is good but it's definitely more of a slow burn than the others. El-P's production is the real draw for me and that's on point as always.

As someone who grew up on southern rap it's still weird to see it expand nationwide to its current level, but migos juat went ahead kicked that door all the way down
Southern rap was all ways extremely popular. Always topped the charts. Nelly, outkast, wayne etc etc. Pretty much since 2000.
hell, back that ass up was top 20 on the hot 100 and #1 on the other charts. This isn't anything new.
ON Migos though, I don't expect classic or anything lol, just some fun songs that get you hype like they've always put out.

I like the Gucci Trap House series of tapes but Migos and the like is not something I would listen to outside of the club. Those tracks are okay for me when mixed in on a DJs tape of other current records.

Basically this, although I'm a diff place in my life now and I don't particularly have the same thirst for multi-sylabell rhyme schemes, punchlines and all the other technical stuff that's made so many classic verses.
I'm quite content with a hot beat and bare audible flow.
2003 me would be so dissapoointed in the sell out me lol.
