SLAENT-HOP | We about this life!

Going through the last few Eminem albums (Relapse - Recovery - MMLP2). Only on track 3 of Relapse and I'm like...maybe this is a mistake.

Relapse is worse than I remember. Few good beats that deserved better than struggle Em. Accent complaints aside (point has been discussed to death) the amount of songs/verses solely about murder was kind of jarring, came off like attempts to controversial but sounded really forced. Above all else, almost all the hooks were garbage and most of the songs were just plain uninspired. Sounded like Em made an album because he felt like he had to make an album.

Starting Recovery. Cold Wind Blows has a terrible chorus (from what I recall most of the choruses on this one are weak as hell) it would have been one of the best if not the best song off Relapse...After Recovery I'm gonna stop. I can't take this much struggle in one day.

edit: oh yea, 40 year old man spewing some homophobic ish....it's a given that it's offensive but seeing Em continuing to do this shit over and over is just kinda pathetic and embarrassing for a whole other reason.

all i remember about relapse when i heard it first was liking a few of the beats like medicine ball and same song and dance. that's my lasting impression of it today, idk what else to say about it

on recovery, the only 2 songs worth listening to are talkin 2 myself and almost famous, rest is trash

The Biggie Pac comparisons never made sense, their styles are so different. Biggie was the better rapper from technical and flow standpoint hands down but Pac's voice and passion makes it understandable why some prefer him.

When you're talking about strictly rapping, Pac isn't on his level. Pac made more heart felt songs but it wasn't like Biggie was no slouch either.

Pac just made better tracks almost all around... Biggie did his thing but Pac was that dude... not even a huge fan but it's pretty hard to pick Biggie over Pac when Pac has 3 legit classic albums and the greatest double disk ever.

Edit:// I might add jeezy if nothing better comes down the pipeline but this year wasn't as good as 2013 that only was decent because of the end of the year releases.

Thats a interesting idea about the industry becomes a singles first industry. I could see that happening, and it would be like the ringtone era part 2 with rappers hitting the lotto of life based on one song like Booby Schmuda.

Welcome To Fazoland was a cool project but upon revisiting it, it's probably in my top 10 of 2014.

Went back to the new Shabazz Palaces. Listened while I was laying in bed before I slept, that's how you should listen to that album. Top 5 for me easy.

Hiphop has always been largely about getting a rush of dopamine in the form of egoboost/self-confidence tracks. He's just more basic about it. It's okay.

Glad it isn't on his next album cause it's just not very good. It's alright, it's just that expectations are higher than that.
