Anyone see any technical reviews of Illmatic XX on sound quality? Is it really any better than the 10th anniversary re-issue?
I bought it on vinyl anyways just because I don't have the original on vinyl, and it came with the MP3s.

Dude had speech therapy or something.
Ok! Want to do an artist mix.. maybe 30 to 40 mins an artist or producer's work.. who should I make??
I have done Em, Outkast, Mannie Fresh, Jay-Z and some more...

I was going to say Rick Ross. Dude has a good catalog, just don't know if I could stomach Ross grunting for 30 minutes. Get some features in there could be good.

Ross would be super easy to do...
Homophobia in hip hop has been getting less and less common in recent years. Used to be something you could expect to hear all the time and now it's so uncommon it actually surpises me when I hear it. As much as I hate to give that little piss stain any credit, I feel like homophobia in rap really started declining after lil b stated in that interview a few years back his disgust for it. based god coming out in support of gay rights and against homophobic lyrics definitely helped change perceptions. thank you based god
man it wasn't the based god that stopped homophobia in lyrics
Its just way to many celebrities have been taken to task for homophobia publicly. Its bad for sales so labels and artist just aren't saying it. It would be nice to think that all these guys came to a cultural enlightenment, but where talking about Rap Music and the Rappers that produce it. There is a song out right now where 85% of the lyrics is the N word and female artist compete on who can brag about poppin their pussy to the beat the best.
If their was a cultural backlash to the increased exposure of homosexuality in the Media (though I doubt it) like America had after Disco's decline. The Majority of Rappers would immediately go back to saying homophobic shit again like it never fell out of style. If you want to praise anything praise the consumers who are making it known public displays of homophobia isn't appropriate unless I guess your openly gay.

sorry to be resurrecting 90s arguments, but I wanna know on what basis can anyone say Tupac was less of a rapper's rapper than BIG? Dont even talk to me about delivery and flow, Pac was a maestro with it.
His flows on songs like When I get Free pt. 2, Let's Fight (aka niggaz wanna get it on),Point the Finga , Troublesome 96, First 2 Bomb, Holla if ya Hear me are as good as any flow from Ready to Die.
People like to cite the Pac songs where it's more about him screaming into the mic and being emotionally heavy handed than doing anything clever with the flow, but they forget he had whole albums, like Strictly For My N.I.G.G.A.Z., where his signature screaming is almost nonexistent.
Lyrically, BIG was a step ahead, but Pac wrote more poetic, meaningful songs, so that's a moot point anyway.
You wanna cite Niggaz Bleed and Gimme the Loot and say those songs are absent from Pac's catalogue okay, then I raise you Changes, Mama's Just a Little Girl,Letter to the President, Lord Knows.
I just feel that at the end of the day, Pac's body of work and versatility put him above BIG. Like if you were locked into a cell and forced to listen to both artists for 48 hours, you would be getting more range and versatility from one than the other.
and dont even get me started about how he was "technically worse than Nas and Jay -z"
Motherfucker, Nas has put out two great albums in his 20 years in the game, Jay-Z's best album is nothing more than a mid 90s footnote and the man has like 12 songs in 12 albums of work where he actually conveys some passion and emotion about something. Fuck outta here.

I love Pac... But Nas makes it seem effortless. Like Vince Carter in his prime.. You wonder why he is the greatest ever then you look at his beats
Just found that 2013 remix of an oldie.

GetLikeMe is alright, Moves is nice as hell. Has that nice build up and then those synths come in, I can imagine someone laying down some verses over that pretty easily.

"Peter Pan" has been my anthem for the past few months.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veH_q9s-U8s
Finally got ahold of Sho's Talented 10th after he left Reach Records. Love it. I've written prose about the topics he takes on, not lyrics. So the album hits home.
Going to the first concert I've ever been to in my life on the 19th this month. Gonna go see Lecrae.

It's always weird when I stumble on a track a classic loop was sampled from and I kinda like it better.
