I will say I am enjoying the Scarface and Nas features on Documentary 2.5. Gives the album a great vibe.
Although, Lil Wayne could've stayed at home.

Interesting. What I expected tbh
Thought I'd ask here since we had a Jay Z vs Nas discussion early today in footballslaent. Was some gr8 banter. Esch went in hard

I like Nas better as an artist but nobody changed the game more than Jay-Z
the Blueprint basically is how all albums are made today

By reilo Go To PostReasonable Doubt and The Black Album are fire, so not sure what Linius is on.
Black Album gets way too much love imo
It's kinda hard to follow the discussion in that thread since there were a few matches on at the time.
In the end, they shook hands and became friends like Nas and Jay Z are now.

By Lou Sassel Go To PostWhat do you mean by this exactly? He used all producers from all coast... no one else was doing that.. Atl producers were only messing with Atl artist back then... Cali only Cali.. and so on..
Thanks to Jay those barriers are down..
By wylde Go To PostAgree that Jay won, obviously.
But ether is the greatest dis track, so there is that.
No Vaseline disagrees

I'm here for the NappyAfro respect. Them niggas still ain't shit tho.
Yeah, Hov obviously won both long and short-term. Hov lowkey ethered Nas on Come and Get Me off Vol. 3 anyway.
Errr ether is not the greatest diss track.
I'd say nail in the coffin from a purely objective point of view.

I suppose you could make that argument, but the problem is that his target was so easy in that song.
Ether as a song hasn't aged well. Tons of cringeworthy lines.
Either way the word ether has become so much more than a Jay diss track.
I'd say a good amount of teenagers that use the word on social media or whatever don't even know the origin or can even name a song by nas.

Yeah but the "you think girls like you cause of your looks?"
"Your man stabbed un and made you take the blame"
"You love the attention"
"40 year old is a tae bo class"
"Oh I get it he's puff and your Biggie"
Burned jay soul slow and is where the Ethering in the song happened cause it was all true.
Last Real Nigga Alive was the best shit that came out of that whole period but each of them had their moments.
- Documentary 2.5 is not bad. This didn't need to be two records though. Could have cut and condensed and been stronger for it.
- Puffy's mixtape is laughably enjoyable. It's fun.
- New Freddie Gibbsand Logic is what's on repeat.

Accept it and move on. Only thing you can do.
Trilogy is still his best, but BBTM is a lot more focused. People saying he's the next MJ need to cool it though.

Yea, that new Pusha song is good. Album out Dec 18th.
Been listening to the new Freddie Gibbs. I like it, kinda wish he released Shadow of a Doubt then Piñata. SoAD sounds like the culmination of that old Gibbs sound.

Shadow of a doubt BANGS so hard!
Can't get enough of narcos and a few other tracks. Reminds me of a current version of BFK.

That Shadow of A Doubt cover is great. I can't stand up for much else in that pic
It really is a modern BFK and much more cohesive. BFK sonically goes places I wish it wouldn't at times but Gibbs seems like he knew what he wanted this album to sound like and stuck to it. Glad he didn't employ too many RnB talent to help on the hooks, he's really good at doing them himself.
