EDIT: Apparently removed from iTunes now:
It’s still not entirely clear, but today, To Pimp a Butterfly has been taken down from iTunes and is back to pre-order status. It doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense, because now a lot of people already have the album in full, but that’s the current status. Some are joking (or are they?) about iTunes “selling out” of copies.

This "U" track is a huge miss for me, but the next track, Alright, is jamming. Only feeling a handful of songs thus far after two listens.
Not sure how I feel about this album yet...
Hood Politics was the only track I really felt... rest are decent but not liking the overall lack of energy in the album..

ok I've listened to Pimp a Butterfly a few times and I am like 99% sure Erykah Badu hit kendrick with her black hole Punany...... All the signs are there.... spaced out beats, afrocentric themes, multiple songs about love and sex, and Kendrick has an inflated sense of self..... All that equals Badu Pussy corruption in my book.

By blackaceBy MorisTPAB is a revelation tbh.
It feels a little pretentious and less revolutionary to me…
Kendrick said in a recent interview
For many fans, “I’m the closest thing to a preacher that they have,” Mr. Lamar, 27, said from the couch of a Santa Monica studio where he recorded much of the new album. “I know that from being on tour — kids are living by my music.” However, he added: “My word will never be as strong as God’s word. All I am is just a vessel, doing his work.”
I remember when Kanye gave that same answer after he made the Jesus walks video.....

you always run the risk with these type of albums but I think Kendrick handled it pretty well.

Genocide and Juice is a real good example of how to do these type of albums correctly
K-Dot's album isn't bad in practice and message but it is lacking in both

But let's hope that Kendrick doesn't absue his first wife and ignore his first born.
Though it looks like he skipped all that and dived straight into Yoko ono territory.
It most definitely lacks some of the "this song goes hard" production that the first album had (Backseat Freestyle and mAAD city come to mind) that diversified GKMC, but stuff like "How Much a Dollar Cost" is classic.
TPAB is much less accessible but it still has King Kunta, Alright and Blacker The Berry. Listened like 8 or 9 times now, and I've enjoyed it more each listen.
TPAB is good.
But I feel like I like the idea of it more than I actually like it.
And I like it a lot, mind.

Three types of people I don't trust:
1) Guys with pony tails
2) People with two first names
3) People that believe in Lupe after he got dreads
Rules to live by, imo.

Top things that annoy me in Kendrick's new album:
The way he says boo boo
The angry restless crowd in "i"
An 8 fucking minute interview with Pac? Really? Was that necessary?
I get it, your dick ain't free.
Some of the album is absolutely brilliant, but other shit just makes me scratch my head and ask why...

how much of an event that is
I think the ONLY part of TPAB I don't like is the mydickaintfree track. goes on for too long.
Other than that? 10/10
Bring on Bronson.

So far this Father mixtape is the best thing this year, along with drizzy's body of a misshaped mixtape.
