By etiolation Go To Postnilla, you know that the Kings and Pelicans are having a Kentucky night preseason game at Rupp Arena?
yeah I am beyond stoaked for that, same week as big blue madness. going to be fantastic for the program.
Im new to slaent but heres the run down, huge UK fan, family from KY, live and breath the program etc etc.
Summer League has been such a topic of interest for BBN this year because of a lot of our fringe guys from a few years ago are hanging on and all the rooks getting tested.
also, if you are a wildcat and dont know about KSR you are missing out, its my life force out of season
lol, I missed RJ Hunter calling himself and James Young the Trash Brothers because of their shit shooting in Utah's summer league.
real interesting how the top 3 picks haven't looked that great while everyone else in the lotto has been mostly fine
he was great against portland but i thought his defensive iq would be sharper, he fouls like a stupider dwight howard at times
By Red Blaster Go To Postreal interesting how the top 3 picks haven't looked that great while everyone else in the lotto has been mostly fineIf by that you mean they haven't done a whole lot to separate themselves from the pack then yea I guess.
Stanley Johnson is the only one passing the eye test and performing well.
By Vahagn Go To PostThere are guys like Nash and Rubio that have the vision and the playmaking ability from day one. My only comment is that considering the Magic hype, Russell's not near that tier. Nash and Rubio could also get past their man off the dribble consistently, Russell can't.This is so true and it's also been one of the biggest knocks against a guy like Westbrook for years. But Westbrook is also the most athletic PG at his position (which is quite something given the talent pool) and he's a hyper amazing scorer.
Also, I would argue that vision with a million TO's means you're seeing the open guy, but a second late or early. Or you're seeing the open guy but not the defender. Or you're seeing the open guy but your pass isn't on target. Essentially your vision is worthless if you can't execute the play and your cockiness is leading to turnovers - call it the Brett Favre syndrome. Good PG's don't force passes to every guy that seems open because they're great at gaging timing and risk. Russell may end up great at it, especially if Nash coaches him. Just don't think he's going to be a hyper elite pure PG
And no, the most important thing in a PG is decision making. Even if you cant do the difficult home run plays but keep your turnovers down to a minimum because you're making solid decisions - that's better than a dude trying to be Jason Williams and having routine 5 TO games.

Think he was courtside during the game lol. Vegas is like a ~40 minute flight from LA.
I can't wait until I have to see lists with J.P Tokoto as point to all the assets we have..and that person is serious.
I have seen some with Jakarr Sampson on it as a positive.
I can't

His name is fun to say and it's not like Hinkie is gonna sign free agents. Gamble on the youngins.....so Hinkie can flip them for late 2nd rounders.
Winslow not playing, assume a precaution cause of the tweaked ankle.
WCS is in, but SAC is getting blown out early.

Still reeling over the idea of tokoto on a roster
Like...he's Chris Singleton without even the ability to shoot a jumper or defend but somehow manages the same insane usage

Yeah, Summer League and shit, but WCS definitely living up to expectations so far. He looked incredibly poised and always played within himself, which is relieving to see from a college junior.
11 pts/gm
5 reb/gm
3 blks/gm
51% FG
65% FT
averaging less than 20 min/gm
I'd love to see him make more of an effort to box out on the defensive end. He seems to make starting the fast break a priority over securing boards. That and he picked up a few too many fouls in limited minutes but that should get better as he adjusts to the NBA game.
poor bastard

McDermott dominating Summer League yet its the worst shape of him to see him ever succeed at the actual league with his shitty percentage on outside and charity line
Like fuck I'm supposed to believe he gonna be slashing god at the actual season loooooooool

By Fenderputty Go To PostCan u fill me in? Got home and were down by 4 with no time leftRuss missed a lot of easy looks again, his turnovers weren't crazy-pass based. If you want hope for the future just watch his 4th quarter.
Randle is pretty good at attacking the basket, but didn't finish too well all the time, looked a bit out of control but that's his game so who knows.
Clarkson made some bad decisions and didn't shoot very well but had some nice highlight plays.
Anthony Brown is a 3-D guy who hasn't gotten his 3 to work and is just alright on D
Jabari Brown desperately wants playing time, tried really hard to make things happen
Black looked like a solid back up big tonight on both ends.
All the bench players basically did nothing

The stat line had Russ shooting 50% and it looked like his TO were low. If he missed easy shots it sounds like he was close to a seriously bad ass game.
I expect randle to be rusty with the injury.
Jabari been playing like that all the games.
Thanks.
