Russell has had like 3 TOs so far already but they were all rookie mistakes, heel out of bound when he caught behind the 3 point line, passed it for an easy lay up right when 24 clock went off. His defense is still a nice surprise and should help him while he figures out how to play in the NBA.

I think hes clearly a 2. I'd like to see him off the ball a little more to see what he could do there. The defense and rebounding seem solid, but he's kind of an east/west player with the ball in his hands. That's what I thought watching him in college and summer league hasn't changed that.

I'm not worried about Russ' shooting performance. It just looks like his conditioning isn't there yet, he got plenty of open step back jumpers and a few lay ups that he didn't put enough behind. He also cut to his right a few times off of screens, shout out to masud.
This was Okafor's most well rounded performance yet, he looked more mobile than the previous games, made a couple of good defensive plays. His FT stroke looks more refined and consistent (except for one attempt where he added a weird hesitation, OFC he missed that attempt.) which would be HUGE for him. He got a fairshare of unearned FT trips that he won't be getting when the season starts.

That's about 3-5 feet out of his range though.
I really just hope somebody teaches him how to box out and rebound on the defensive end. You can't be a defensive-oriented player and not be able to rebound when you're on defense.
The Kings SL guards have been pretty bad.
