I can understand why anyone other than Higuain, Callejon, and possibly Andujar would feel unappreciated, or at least underappreciated, in Rafa's system, but it seems odd to see these sorts of complaints now, when no one fully knows what Sarri's system will be yet. Considering also that Insigne spent most of the season recovering from that horrific knee injury, then was hailed by the supporters upon his return, I don't know how he can feel unappreciated.
So I turn to a usual explanation for (real or fabricated for the media) player discontent: the fucking agent.
Maybe he's trying to preemptively scare Sarri into using Insigne more than he otherwise would've; maybe he's trying to get his client into the press more; maybe he's trying to command a higher salary when they renegotiate the contract; maybe he really is trying to sell Insigne off to a club where he'll be a more central player. Who knows?
What I can't understand is why a new system designed to cultivate Italian talent at its core would shunt off the best academy player we've produced. So, yeah, I'm sceptical of all this bullshit.
