Zack Snyder releases first shot of new Batsuit
- Page 1 of 1
Not bad,, its a fusion of nolan's and burton's batmobile.
Just for the record, snyder is a shit storyteller.
Just for the record, snyder is a shit storyteller.
Just for the record, snyder is a shit storyteller.Easily his biggest flaw is the structure of his movies.
The Batmobile definitely looks like the one from Arkham Knight.
I like the suit, it looks like they've learned a lot about how to make a Batman suit that actually allows the actor to have some freedom of movement.
Hopefully this movie actually features Batman, unlike Nolan's movies.

did you watch man of steel?Just for the record, snyder is a shit storyteller.Easily his biggest flaw is the structure of his movies.
there was a scene where superman and Zod was fighting and destroying metropolish for around 20 fucking minutes with no new information to push the story along.
i mean really? come the fuck on with that shit.
i expect this version of batman will look pretty and highly stylish but this wont be any better than George Clooney's version.
The Batmobile definitely looks like the one from Arkham Knight.Nolans didn't feature batman?

Or it didn't feature a man in a bat suit?
People complained that Nolan's movies were too much Bruce Wayne and not enough Batman. I get the criticism, but I don't think it's apt because Nolan went for more of a character study rather than a guy whooping ass all of the time and that's what made Nolan's Batman very refreshing.
I don't think you can separate Bruce Wayne and his motivations for being Batman from the guy in the suit.

Man of Steel was a horrific shit fest. It made the third X-Men movie look good. I said it.
But I like Ben Affleck, and I hope this new movie succeeds. The suit looks great.

Batman in Name Only. And BINO was barely in the third movie.

Even when he was in the suit he wasn't Batman though.

I think in TDKR returns Nolan sometimes forgot that Batman is in the movie. He seemed like a bland unimportant character throughout.
I don't even know what that means.
Batman is the main identity. Bruce Wayne is the mask. Making him a rich guy who beats up on mobsters while wearing a silly costume doesn't make him Batman. He lacked all the defining characteristics and attributes that actually make Batman, Batman.
The movies weren't bad, I just felt like Nolan had only the most superficial understanding of Batman and what he's about and he used that to make his movie. Which is okay I guess, but doesn't make the depiction of the character any more accurate than the George Clooney movie.
The villains are as important to any Batman story as Batman himself.
And Bruce Wayne isn't the mask. 'Billionaire playboy' Bruce Wayne is the mask. The Batman character is all about Wayne's obsession with saving Gotham, hunting criminals who would destroy lives the way his was destroyed and avenging his parents. Being Bruce Wayne is important to what Batman is. It's why Alfred is also so central to the character. The movies played that perfectly.
Nolan's movies are flawed (particularly the last one) but they are without a doubt Batman movies IMO and some of the best representations of the modern version of the character outside of comics.

This Bruce is the mask shit is dumb. DC has gone out of their way to show that he's Gotham's protector in and out of the suit. Bruce is the Bat, the Bat is Bruce.
The Bruce Wayne is the mask argument doesn't work at all. It works for someone like Superman where Clark Kent is the fake identity, but Wayne and Batman are one in the same.

Well with Superman it is more complex since the Clark he is around family and people that know him is not the same Clark that he pretends to be around the general population. The Clark that he is around family is pretty much Superman on his off time though.

Yup.
Also reilo I agree with the superman part, though I'd say even then the Clark/human side is still meant to be very much a part of who the character is. But still it certainly fits more with the 'mask' idea.
Nolan's batman universe is the best of the bunch.
yes, its more focused on the character development of bruce wayne, but that's a good ingredient of a good movie.
Nolan introduced a very flawed character in his trilogy, and that's what made it such a compelling story. The human condition.
i'd argue the weakest batman movies were about batman and less about bruce.

I agree that Wayne and Batman are the same person.
Once he became the Bat, there really was no Wayne. He's Batman even when not wearing the suit.
The "mask" is Wayne we see at Wayne Enterprises. The Wayne we see in Wayne Manor is still Batman.
I hope that makes sense to everyone.
TDK trilogy was amazing, and indeed carried by the villains ans within. That's what made Batman compelling...how could he conquer such formidable foes?

Nope, the comics go out of their way to show that Bruce is Batman, Batman is Bruce. They are one in the same. There is no mask.

You've clearly read some different comics than I have.

That's choreography in practically any movie where the main character is invulnerable to regular goons, but I get what you're saying.
What Batman has to say about masks as a rebuttal to the above quote is why this scene is relevant to the topic at hand.

The whole point of Morrison's run was that Bruce and Batman are the same person. Someone else can put on the mask but they're not going to be the Batman. Bruce, even after admitting that Dick was the better hero, knew he was the only one that could defeat Talia's army and protect Gotham because that is his role in life. Now we jump to Snyder's Zero Year and we see a young Bruce looking at himself as Batman and Bruce. However, over the course of the Zero Year he has grown to realize he isn't one or the other. Bruce and Batman are the same person: the protector of Gotham.

"Billionaire Playboy" is a mask. The 'no care in the world, partying rich boy" is an act even for Bruce Wayne. So I'd disagree slightly there.
But beyond that, I'd say you are correct. Bruce Wayne and Batman are one and the same.
