Black Utah Congresswoman received donations from white supremacy group.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah – The first black Republican woman elected to Congress is returning $1,000 in donations from Earl Holt, the alleged white supremacist whose writings have reportedly inspired Charleston shooter Dylann Roof.
A spokesman for U.S. Rep. Mia Love said Monday that she would be returning the three donations Holt made to her campaign immediately, after being contacted by CNN.
Love made history last November when Utah residents selected her as the first black Republican woman to serve in Congress.
Holt, who is president Council of Conservative Citizens, donated thousands of dollars to Republican candidates Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Rick Santorum in previous elections.
The Southern Poverty Law Center identifies the Council of Concerned Citizens as a hate group. The group, on its website, formally denounced the killings in Charleston last week, but Holt wrote in a post that Roof and others had “legitimate grievances” based on alleged black-on-white violence.
I can't.

Honestly, I doubt anyone even knew he gave them the money or who he was until this past week.
What's more curious is him donating to her, even if she is a Republican.

I don't find anything curious anymore. Not after Strom Thurmond, from and represented South Carolina by the way, and one of the most vicious racists in the senate fathered a child with an African American woman. The most consistent thing about racists is their inconsistency even to their own so-called "principles." They'll have relationships with black people and give money to those who still forward some of their agendas. There's no real curiosity really, just a pattern of various self-interests coming even before their own prejudices.
I always thought the Strom Thurmond thing fit in with the "property" viewpoint. Being a Republican doesn't necessarily mean forwarding this man's agenda, either. Granted, I know little about this Congresswoman.
As much as I could concede to a "property" viewpoint, my view of people in general has lead me to believe that hypocrisy and double standards are inevitable from even the most staunch bigots.
Let's just take a cursory glance shall we
Pro-Lifer
Second Amendment rights
Deep cuts to federal spending
Views the Federal government should have less power
Oh lookie here
There's your answer about the funding.

While campaigning in 2012, Love had said that if elected, she would “join the Congressional Black Caucus and try to take that thing apart from the inside out.” She has described the mainly Democratic Caucus as characterized by…demagoguery. They sit there and ignite emotions and ignite racism when there isn’t. They use their positions to instill fear. Hope and change is turned into fear and blame. Fear that everybody is going to lose everything and blaming Congress for everything instead of taking responsibility.

White supremacist racists have always held up certain black people as examples and justifications for hating 99% of black people. "If all black people were like so and so, we wouldn't have a problem with them" (thereby making black people, and not racism, the problem)
Booker T Washington got a lot of support from pro-slavery white supremacists because he was the antithesis to W E B Dubois. This kind of shit goes back centuries. It's practical politics and it also helps racists convince themselves they're decent people. If there was a Jewish person down with the Third Reich, Hitler would embrace them too. It's just how racism operates in the political space.
It's not just race, either. Fox News employs tons of women who's sole job on the network is seemingly to attack women's rights and suggest that getting cat called is flattering and being pro choice is actually anti woman etc.
Absolutely none of this shit is unique or strange to this case or this time and you can't even blame the Mia Love's of the world because 90% of the black community passionately votes for the party more likely to further their self interest, a much larger swath than any other demographic group.
The 10% of black Americans that consistently vote conservative (usually because of faith) are about as small as that number can ever be. It's the 45% of women and ~30% of Latinos voting conservative that need to change.

Sure, this makes sense. I just didn't know who Mia Love was. I'm sure there are black GOPers this guy wouldn't support.

Good post Vahagn. I agree.
It's part of the same phenomenon that will allow someone who wouldn't hire a black person to cheer on a black athlete.

Let me give y'all some insider info: That church number is closer to 90 percent than 70.
Before clicking on this post I knew it was her. Is she representative on every black person born into the church? Ionno but they on some extra shit until you get even numbers then sheep act like it.....
Mia is on that pull the ladder up behind her BS. She's one of the reasons I'm not in Utah at the moment. Refuse to have someone look at me expecting her same viewpoints.
