olympia weekend i wonder if anyone will stop CBum's run
nope
hopefully Andrew Jacked wins the open at least. Hadi and Derek always look like bullfrogs. IDK why that is the look the judges are going with it doesn't look good.

I started working out for the first time in my life, and I actually enjoy it. But it's frustrating that working out for weight loss feels almost pointless.
Like, I'm running my ass off on the elliptical for an hour, and I burn what amounts to just one cookie. That's just not fair.

By DiPro Go To PostI started working out for the first time in my life, and I actually enjoy it. But it's frustrating that working out for weight loss feels almost pointless. My sweet spot has been using a treadmill, setting it to the "heart rate" setting, and targetting 85% of my max heart rate for 30 minutes. I adjust the speed such that the incline remains as high as possible during the session (usually around 3.0 mph). I end up burning over 330 calories every session without having to put a lot of stress on my knees (I don't think) and also in only a half-hour.

yeah i've been doing something similiar. still feels like a lot of work for "little" payoff with how easy you can consume 330 calories. in a just world you'd lose a kg by doing this.
It's not just about burning off the limited calories in that time though. You're telling your body to kickstart its metabolism again so you're getting it into a whole new routine where you will burn off calories long after you have stopped running.
Especially if you get a good night's sleep and diet well, your body will start reprioritizing where it's sending the new calories and nutrients you're consuming (muscle growth, recovery) rather than storing fat for latter use.
In fact, if done right, you'll probably lose more calories during a good night's sleep.

By DiPro Go To Posti haven't had a good nights sleep in 5 years m9.Maybe working out will help with that!

It's easier getting outside the gym and just walking or running somewhere, I find it impossible to use stationary machines for an hour but if I walk/jog somewhere I can do it for 2-3 hours easy.
You expect dipro to go outside and explore the scenery that is the hell-hole known as... *checks notes* ... Switzerland?

Just checked all trails for Switzerland and I'd never be inside if I lived there. Looks like Narnia.
I can't fuck with protein alternatives other than protein shakes. Protein bars? Disgusting. Yogurt ? Disgusting. Protein noodles ? Disgusting.
I'm just eating a lot more meat now. I got those little meat and cheese rolls like I'm tony soprano

Thank me later
Also, for yogurt? Chobani has a low-sugar variant of a blueberry yogurt that tastes great. Throw about 60g of Kind peanut butter clusters in there and you're pushing 20-25g of protein in a cup.

idk if Sam has any aspirations of ever stepping on stage Urs really puts it in perspective
i always wondered how big Sam was in comparison to the pros. he's probably another 20-30 lbs away from being big enough to have enough to cut.

Makes you wonder how much money these guys are making to look like that and shorten their lifespans cause being that big is not healthy.

Bonus for comparing using Ozempic to lose weight makes you look like you just beat a battle with cancer which is so true
Speaking of, what is a good weight scale? We had one but it is not very accurate at all. Inaccurate enough to throw any kind of weight loss tracking off completely.
I've had a Withings for years. I believe it's fine.

You're always going to have it a little bit. Best thing to do is always weigh yourself around the same time of day and only do it once a week or every couple of days. And always take a progress picture

According to that video, it looks like I should eventually start doing my current exercise daily in order to get my steps in.
Or maybe the better idea is to still do the "high intensity" walk 4 days a week (roughly 3,600 steps, but steep incline) but just do normal walking at my own leisure the other 3 days to get my ~8,000 steps in.

3.06 sharp. Stayed with the sub 3 pacer for 28 km but then my pulse started to creep up and knew I had to drop off. Besides, my right ankle always cramp up after 30 which is why I don't think it's my distance really.
Pb and super happy about the time

Wow, congratulations, that's amazing pace.
I barely survived half marathon 2 years ago, but I plan to try to run a full marathon next spring... or just to survive.

Been on the grind for 2 weeks from a 3 month absence and this one dude who's clearly on gear wants to know what I'm taking because I'm bigger than him?
I told him he needs to start doing full reps for starters because his form is shit.

Bad sleep is wrecking my ability to go as hard as I want to go. Will just go for longer at lower intensity, I guess.
